how about the creativeness of that midfield...?
how many chances did the midfield create for the strker....?
though I am not rubbishing the effort of those lads...because deep down I know their potentials..but rohr really need to starting fielding players in the role best suited for them]...

Absolutely agree with you at the bolded. Its horrible watching Iwobi, Etebo, iheanacho and Nwakeam playing out of positions.

Someone should please pass this message to Rohr, Iheanacho SS/CF, Iwobi AM, Etebo RW/LW, Nwakeam LW

Nwakaeme would have done better as a winger. As a CF, does not offer much threat. He is not fluid and sleek enough to lead the attack. And thanks boss!

Kog45:
Good rating Joebie, but i want to base my comment on Ezenwa and Nwakaeme based on your rating.

Ezenwa 5 clearly showed today is not our man for the world cup and this w definitely increase the call for Enyeama and his performance today has opened the door for others to compete again, just too glaring he can't do it.

A lot praise Ezenwa due to his performance against Cameroon and Zambia but watching the two matches all over again he did nothing special than the confidence he imposed which Akpeyi always lacking, apart from confidence Akpeyi is better.

Now we are having not so real keeper in Ezenwa and shaking Akpeyi, what do we do if Enyeama refused to come out of retirement.

A lot may argue this but I can tell anybody who care to listen that Dele Ajiboye is better than Ezenwa and Akpeyi.

There is need to give Uzoho and Alampasu chance, truly the two guys are young but they are talented, the height is there and having European club tutelage is an advantage.

Rohr and his coaching crew especially goalkeeper trainer should pay special attention to Uzoho not easy to be in goal for Deportivo at a very young age,Alampasu need to be recalled and let us see him in action, also Dele Ajiboye cos he is better than Ezenwa and Akpeyi.

Nwakaeme was a huge mistake but what baffled me was the way Nwakaeme was rated on this thread, honestly Kayode is far better, not a super eagle material.

Rohr should stop calling players based on recommendation from outside his crew,he should send his scout out cos just too embarrassing see player like Nwakaeme in eagles colour, funny enough Nwakaeme and Aaron Samuel were called up during Cameroon match.

It is too early to judge Nwakaeme's stay in the fold. Do you know how long it took Emmanuel Emenike to stamp his authority in the CF position in Eagles? Give him time. He may come good.

Emmanuel Emenike at least showed promises.

My preferred Lineup against Argentina. (4 - 4 - 2) Formation needs to be tested by Rohr, we can't rely only on 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 every time.

------------------- Akpeyi --------------------

Shehu ------ Ekong --- Balogun ------- Aina

-------------- Ogu ------ Mikel --------------

Iwobi-------------------------------- Onyekuru

----------- Iheanacho --- Kayode -------------

I picked Akpeyi over Ezenwa simply to know if he deserves a place in the Team to Russia. This should be his final Test, and if he fails it, then Rohr should stop inviting him.

He's more exposed than Ezenwa professionally, hence it's a big Shame Ezenwa is considered ahead of him as Eagles present No. 1.

The Backline is solid against the Algerians. I think it's better we allow the quartet to starting gelling together henceforth. We need to know what they can offer in Russia, starting from the next (Friendly) Match.

Ogu and Mikel Pivot gonna be a good Combo. Both can tackle superbly and shield/hold on the Ball excellently. While Ogu is dealing with short Passes, Mikel would be dealing with long range Passes to the frontline.

They do not need to attack, rather allow the Wingers - Iwobi and Onyekuru doing the Job. Their primary Assignments would be; shielding the Defense, controlling the Game and freeing up the Wingers and the Strikers doing the damages.

Iheanacho is a creative Player, with good eyes for Goals and decisive passes. Playing him and Kayode upfront gonna be a Menace for the Argentine Defenders.

Iheanacho can shoot from outside, Kayode gets the Pace, Onyekuru gets magical feet, and Iwobi is technically gifted.

I hope to see what the Lads can offer in a 4 - 4 - 2 Formation.

Oga ur formation no gel at all, ogu and mikel play alike, they r not that fast infact they r d same only that one uses left d other right.

iwobi no be winger, u r doing same mistake rohr made.

replace ogu with ndidi for good tackling and iwobi with etebo or kayode on the wings iheanacho shld strike.

For me, the positive to take away from the game was the siege mentality gradually coming back to the Super Eagles.
This team is showing signs of maturity with people stepping up to take leadership when it matters most.

In recent past, the Super Eagles would have been bullied by these Algerians. I mean, at the last world cup , we took weak characters who couldn't fight for each other. They were all smiles and watched Onazi get bullied and kicked out of the game.
I am happy this present team have the character to fight for one another! I loved the way Balogun removed his mask and threatened to pull out Brahimi's eyes when the Algerians threatened to go gangster on us. I loved the way the team came to the rescue of Iwobi when he went toe to toe against the Algerian defender.

This was the character I admired about the Mourinho Chelsea team and even the Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side, Arsenal invisibles. Football is beyond kicking a ball around the pitch.
Show of strength and character in the face of intimidation is the hallmark of a great team.

My best comment today. i love you bro, no homo. These eagles love themselves, and that character will take them places. They can't be intimidated or bullied. I'm waiting for Argentine friendly. wink

May be Rohr is not sold on him. Even with one substitution left he can't bring the boy in on the 85 minutes. Poor boy.

thanks my brother...
sometimes we loose or draw matches not really because the players are not good enough but because of the way rohr play them...
you see that RSA match we lost it because of same reason.....I expect rohr to have learn from it by now...but he keeps making same errors.....that's why I am worried...
not really because we drew...yesterday's match...

don't be surprised he will field same players in the world cup...

I am not too happy with him on this....anyway I pray he changes....moreover he does not read news channels or follow up the media so no way we can pass this message across to him...except one close to him...

having someone like siasia as one of his assistant would have done the magic...

now ahead of agu in the pecking order...and not onazi or ndidi

Gabonese Referee In Trouble As CAF Labels Penalty Awarded Against Nigeria Harsh
November 11, 2017015

The Confederation of African Football ( CAF) have criticised referee Eric Otogo-Castane ‎for awarding a late controversial penalty to Algeria which helped them draw 1-1 against Nigeria.

Algeria forced the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a draw thanks to a late penalty converted by Yacine Brahaimi which cancelled out John Ogu 62nd minute goal for Nigeria.

The incident that lead to the penalty has been criticised by CAF in their match report of the game, with a piece on their website tagged ” Algeria Convert Soft Penalty To Hold Nigeria “.

Posted on the official website of the football governing body of Africa, the writer insist that the Shehu Abdullahi who was adjudged to have fouled Brahaimi in the box didn’t foul the forward.

“Yacine Brahimi won and converted a harshly-awarded late penalty to rescue a 1-1 draw for Algeria against already-qualified Nigeria Friday in a World Cup Africa zone Group B dead-rubber.

“The Gabonese referee ruled that Abdullahi Shehu fouled Brahimi as he moved into the box in Constantine, but big-screen replays suggested otherwise” reads the piece on cafonline.com

Big challenge with who will play on the left because we are dealing with an Argentine team who can attack from the wings. I go with Onyekuru because I feel attack is the best form of defence. His runs will cause them problems. However, Nwakaeme made a big statement with his defending, work rate and tracking back yesterday.

The coaches need to teach our players how to be actors on the pitch.

That moment when Brahimi headed Shehu, he had no business being on his feet.

He ought to have fallen and rolled as if a sledge harmer was used on him.

That would probably have influenced the ref to show Brahimi the red card. These are some of the tricks South Americans and Europeans use to edge out their opponents when there is nothing to separate the two.

This singular act can prove crucial in a world cup game.

Also my preferred line up. I also think uzoho and Ajiboye should be the replacements for Ezenwa not Akpeyi. A certain Alampsu is also coming through the ranks.

I also believe Dele Ajiboye, Francis Uzoho and Dele Alampasu should be those fighting for the keeper role.

Some Dudes keep saying Iwobi is an AM, and his Handlers - Wenger and Rohr - are kinda silly playing him on the Wing. LOL!

Alex Iwobi is a left Winger, he can also play as LWF, SS and RWF. He's never an AM and I don't know why some of you are forcing AM on him, whereas his best Position is playing on the Wing.

To the best of my knowledge, Iwobi played well in the AMF role in the game against Egypt. In that game, he gave some delightful balls to Ighalo.

We have no choice from what I say yesterday. Ezenwa is not physically imposing in the box. If he is in goal, the Argentines will come for him.

Unless Rohr will instruct the defence to shield Ezenwa to give him time to get to the ball, we have to opt for a big physical presence which Uzoho clearly brings. Keep in mind, this is a friendly match. The right time to make risks.

Which Position is he playing at Arsenal?! Did he develop his Game as an AM or a Winger?! I'm ain't seeing him as a natural AM rather a Winger with freedom to cut into the Box, rather than making Crosses Only.

The point is that he can play the role. At Arsenal, the competition for the central role is huge. That does not mean he can not play there. Ozil who can play that role hardly plays it for Arsenal due to competition.

It's kinda funny when you come online and read Stuffs like Iwobi is the best AM option for Nigeria. Perhaps they think he's the new JayJay.

Iwobi is a Winger, in the Mould of Sanchez. He ain't a creative Midfielder who can orchestrate the Game from the Middle. Rather a type that can do the damages from the either Wings.

Three sources rated him 6, 7, and 6

One of the ratings with comments:
Tammy Abraham 6
An inch away from scoring less than two minutes into his debut, but couldn't reach Vardy's ball. Tried a little too hard. Subbed second half.

Dailymail says all the youngsters impressed, and even went on to say, "Tammy Abraham caused a threat for the Germany defence on his England debut on Friday"

Good job Tammy, we wish you well regardless. No hard feelings

ykalhaji:
Anybody watched Tammy Abraham debut for England today, how was his game ? Does any one really think he has a future in their senior team ?
