Dimejimichael:1. Drop like two teaspoonful in 10 litre drinker water. 2. Rub raw palm oil on the comb. In two/three days, it will visibly go down. |

Re: ... by Nobody: 11:30am On Nov 12, 2017 |
uchpanila:Use grinded dry pepper in the poultry feed to avoid rats contaminating the feed. Use 250g per 25kg bag You can use indoseed from a pharmacy and mix with either akara, dry grinded fish or even golden morn and put around your surroundings. Dont put this in the poultry house oh! 1 Like |

EMMAACHILE: Have tried that several times even the rat gum is not working.....am thinking of any pesticides that will not be harmful to the birds and my dog as well |
Re: ... by Turks: 11:51am On Nov 12, 2017 |
Get kittens, raise them amongst your birds. Train them not to kill Chicks and trust me, they’ll never tamper with your flock. That’s what I use. They serve as cat deterrents. Nothing more. I miss those rats though. It’s been a while I saw them lol. uchpanila: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: ... by Nobody: 3:52pm On Nov 12, 2017 |

EMMAACHILE: Nice thread and solid contributions from all out there. I have been following this thread silently but at this point I demand that emmaachile makes full disclosure of the Nairalander that he sold the 30 to so that some of us that are interested can go and partake in the feast! Good day house, my broilers are having catarrh with serious coughing, I have lost 2 even after treating them with Anodine. What can I do please? |
Re: ... by Turks: 4:23pm On Nov 16, 2017 |
Always make sure your litter is changed once it’s wet. Preferably, change your liter twice in a week. Make sure your pen is well ventilated. Administer E.S.T Mix to the birds after the afore mentioned have been put in place. Smartademu: |
Re: ... by Smartademu(m): 5:57pm On Nov 16, 2017 |
Turks:Thank you Sir Turks. I change the litter weekly and the pen is well ventilated. I will try the E.S.T Mix as u said. |
Re: ... by Nobody: 6:03pm On Nov 16, 2017 |
Smartademu:Change of litter depends in your density. Higher density means more frequent change. I change mine every three days. |

Oga Emma this Ginger & garlic for cough...... How is the mixing proportion with water? |
Re: ... by fidtopade: 10:42pm On Nov 16, 2017 |
EMMAACHILE:At 5 weeks, my birds are far smaller than this I even doubt if they can attain this size at 8 weeks. though I feed them only twice daily; morning and evening. I also think the source of the bird is also contributing factor to the size, reason why I want to go for agrited for my next stock. |
Re: ... by Turks: 10:49pm On Nov 16, 2017 |
The source has nothing to do with anything. Your feeding regimen is poor. People are quick to blame the hatchery! fidtopade: |
Re: ... by Nobody: 6:21am On Nov 17, 2017 |
Turks:I concur with this response here. Feeding and management are the most important part of growth of your chicks 1 Like |

EMMAACHILE:Feeding I know of, I will wish you expanciate on how you mean by management. I am willing to learn more just as I have been learning from you guys. |

Re: ... by Turks: 8:04am On Nov 17, 2017 |
*Good source of Chicks *Clean environment *Adequate ventilation *Proper Litter management *Non-antibiotics/Organic supplements abuse (this hinders growth a lot) *Biosecurity *Lighting *Good feed *Adequate feeding *Stocking density* *Cool clean water All these put in place will give good results no doubt. fidtopade: 2 Likes 1 Share |
