Hello Great people, I sent my sealed ATS transcript to WES for assessment over one month now, initially my status was updated that it has been received and i do not need to do anything at this point. i later checked my profile after one week to check if my ATS certificate has been sent for verification but surprisingly i found out that the ATS transcript that was initially received now shows 'Not received' . i sent mail and the response i got was (we did receive your package however, no academic transcript was received). i checked my profile yesterday and entered the tracking number, it gave me a message that the package was received by documentation center and i should allow 24 to 48 hours for it to be update. i am so confused. Please what do i do at this point. |

Hello wonderful people, I have a question but I'm not sure I'm on the right thread. I'm not so versed in Canadian immigration procedures... My Girlfriend and I did PhD applications to study in the US and Canada. I got an offer in the US(not funded) first but my spouse(we're yet to marry) got a PhD offer(almost fully funded) in a University in Quebec Province. We had plans of probably getting married late next year or early 2019 but with this...we just concluded that she leave for school first But while filling some of her immigration documents, I noticed that she could travel with her "Significant Partner"...I don't totally understand that. Is it possible that we travel together? If yes, what is the extra financial implications involved? Thanks for your anticipated guidance. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Austinpee4: 2:58pm On Nov 13, 2017 |
thefacelessguy: Significant partner in this regards mean your LEGALLY married spouse or a common-law partner(you’ve been living together continuously for one year, without any long periods apart with evidence of cohabiting or joint activities, etc). Aside these two unions, you won't be able to travel with her as a spouse or "significant partner" to Canada. So NO, it is not possible to travel together to Canada if you are not in any of the aforementioned unions with legal and evidential documentation. 1 Like |

Austinpee4: Thanks @Austinpee4 for your response. Common-law Partner is exactly what I saw that intrigued my curiosity. How does one prove "you’ve been living together continuously for one year, without any long periods apart with evidence of cohabiting or joint activities, etc"? I think we qualify for this but I want to be totally sure. Thanks again Chief! Expecting your response. |

PrudenceIko:First things first...to have a turnover of 150m in six months....i'm currently applauding you. sir, i will recommend you go the express entry route...its will take about the same time as a student permit, and u can eventually go to school and pay local fees, not international. so please, explore that option either as a skilled worker or entrepremeur. |
