Carleton and Dalhouise are very good schools. The former more than the latter. You should dig in to their website to the programs you are interested in and devour all you can concerning their policies for admission, scholarship, deadlines and requirements. Come back and ask questions. This is about the right time to start early and in earnest. Many schools have admission closing in December, January, February and March. Learn to write good essays for your statement of intent. Use google scholar as help when writing thesis proposal. In looking for supervisors, don't go around disturbing professors with some obscure and esoteric research. Write a friendly letter first telling them you are a student from Nigeria. They like that. Tell them you covet their permission to be your supervisor and cite their work that makes you think they will be a good fit. Ask if it's okay to forward your thesis proposal for their scrutiny. Best of luck.

Wonderful! Apply with a masters degree and explain how you didn't get the question. They might extend grace to you. No nobody has banned you, they didn't even accuse you of misrepresentation, otherwise you would have gotten a letter. They accused you only of omission, so tackling why you ommited would be good. You never been to Germany and you already don't like it? Is your prejudice and preconceived notions indeed prejudiced? Anyways I know nothing about Ireland. I have written stuff across the fields, but kinda tied down right now, I will advice you start doing some mad research into schools and pm me if you have any questions or need help. Happy to answer!

Good day house. Please, I need your help and I apologize if I ask any redundant question. I have tried to read as much as possible and I appreciate all your efforts.

I have just received the response from the visa office after my application for a trv for study and it was not as expected but I have strong hope.

The reasons given were only two folds:

1. Purpose of Visit
2. Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of your qualifications; previous studies, employment, level of establishment, or your future prospects and plans.

Now, I applied and got admission for a diploma in business administration (DBA) and already paid school fees. I believe the financial conditions were sufficiently met, which left the two options given that I did not include an SOP in my application.

I already have a Bachelor of Arts in my field of undergraduate study and I did not include the SOP as I felt it was optional and needed if I had an explanation to make. I felt it was common sense to want to study business administration as the skills from this can be generally applied irrespective of your background. I am currently teaching in my field of undergraduate study.

I do believe that I have sufficient reason to appeal this decision. The DBA may be different from my area of undergrad study but the DBA will improve my knowledge of the subjects taught in my current workplace, thus I can take up more responsibility and it will also augment my bachelor's degree to position me for managerial and executive positions in the future. It will also help me in contributing to business development in my the area of my undergrad study.

So house help me. 1. Where do I go from here and 2. how do I get there?

Sorry for the delay. Finances were never a problem, otherwise they would have checked the box that you had no financial means of supporting yourself. So in refiring concentrate on reasons for refusal, not trying to pay fees that were never a problem in the first place. You would be better served. Purpose of visit and correlation between proposed area of studies and work. Don't assume it is intuitive to understand why anybody want to study business administration. Use a detailed, cogent and coherently written SOP to explain to the VO why you have chosen the area you have chosen. Demonstrate your passion, command and expertise in the subject matter and maybe purpose of visit will go away. Then concerning progression, choose an area of masters degree that is in line with your previous degree or work. These diploma programs are a slug fest with the VOs. So help yourself better to get into a masters degree if at all possible. Best wishes.

Ps: by appeal what do your mean? If you mean sending a mail to Accra asking that your previous denial be reconsidered, you are not eligible for that program as I don't see any error of "fact or law" in your case. If by appealing you meant seeking judicial review of your denial before a federal court in Canada, I don't think you have a prayer. Most, almost all appeals filed before a federal in Canada trying to challenge a VO's finding, are unsuccessful. It is better to apply afresh paying new application fees and trying to overcome previous reasons checked.

Hello guys. My question is a bit off-thread, pardon me. I was recently awarded a fully paid scholarship for any undergraduate program of my choice in a university in Canada. I'm a 3rd year vet student(with 3 more years left ) in a federal university here in Nigeria. The ideal plan would be to seek permanent residency or an advanced degree (preferably med school) on completion of the undergraduate degree , but a condition of this scholarship is that I come back to develop my home country, although, the scholarship will also include a distance learning masters program.
Sorry for the long post but isn't it coming back to square one, if I have to come back to Nigeria ? I'm at crossroads here as I've always wanted to become a doctor and the mentioned condition of this scholarship could come in the way of a med school application after. Would you advise that I seize this opportunity?

Scholarship by who? The Canadian embassy places little to no credence to scholarships awarded by wealthy donors or companies in Nigeria. It only accords credence to very reputable firms and the government of Nigeria.

A woman cussing people on this forum talking about her husband been illegal in Canada or somewhere or something like that. I tried to find that post awake and in my right frame this morning, but it's gone. Please was I dreaming or what did this woman want, I can't seem find the post anymore.

No worries bro/sis, just pm me anytime you have questions. SOP usually optional in most regions of the world. But in Nijia where these VOs are hell bent on our case, clarifying any lingering ambiguities in their minds is usually almost always necessary.

Please let's display a reasonable level of maturity, the people clicking like on the controversial comments of @facelessBeing and @ISK9 should please stop it. Don't be party to fueling their discord, causing the forum to derail from its actual purpose, nobody is an island, if you don't agree with any post here, simply discard and go for what you believe, we should learn not to react to every post and if you deem it fit to react at all, simply because you don't agree with it, try as much as possible to make it a constructive criticism and not destructive to the extent of exchanging words. All posts here are merely suggestions which you can either adopt or discard, after all it is your application.
