That's why your career is as short and had stunted growth as carpet grass. You never take constructive criticism.

This failed musician without a future too is saying someone is jealous of Easterners. You in particular, what do you have that someone can be jealous of?

[s][/s]Northerners ko, centernal ni.
In those days the yorubas that wore agbada ad the yorubas that first rode on horse were the yorubas that shared border with the hausas ad other northern states e.g ibadan, kwara ad co.
They acquired dia clothes, weapons ad horses tru trade by batter with the hausas, nupes ad fulanis..After coping dia dress code they passed it down to other yorubas,Other yorubas now reinvented dia own style.

Truth be told, the efizzy and swagg that comes along with Agbada no be small, the way u carry those cloths with swaggs and roll it on your shoulders no be small thing... This Ebuka's own is just a special design on its own but can never compared to the real Agbada...
Agbada has to Make you proud . the beauty of Agbada is to swing the over flowing garment in a readjustment position by your both arms if you cant do that then its not Agbada its Agbede ! that asides that We can still say Ebuka is another brand of AGBADA sha and the fact that it is Ebuka tailor that invented it, it doesnt not mean that it is Igbo identity . Yoruba owns it period. Igbo can still go and tie their wrapper and wear their Aposhe aso Ibinu anyhow they want let them leave our dress for us

Please! what the hell is agbada! ?

gringringringrin

Agbada is one of the names for a flowing
wide sleeved robe worn by men in much of
West Africa, and to a lesser extent in North
Africa, related to the dashiki
suit[citation needed]. The name "Agbada"
originates from Yoruba language, one of the
major languages on the continent. The robe
is also known as Agbada in Dagomba
language.

Agbada is known by various names,
depending on the ethnic group wearing
them: Agbada (Yoruba , Dagomba ), boubou
(from the Wolof word mbubb), babban riga
(Hausa), mbubb (Wolof), k'sa or gandora
(Tuareg), darra'a Maghrebi Arabic, grand
boubou (in various Francophone West
African countries) and the English term of
gown.

I hope say I don answer your question ooogringringrin

The generic word itself is called, "Kaftan", which is an Arabic word. Showing that it was associated with middle eastern culture However, with variations. In west Africa, including Nigeria the fashion was first made popular in Senegal/Mali which was probably introduced through the trans Saharan trade. The Kaftan was for decades or even centuries first popular in Northern Nigeria before reaching down south to the Yorubas
Mind you you can argue that there are slight differences but that's the beauty of the Kaftan, different cultures have made modifications to it.

I wrote this on another thread yesterday,

I will post it here again...Ebukas outfit was not an agbada.

(Ok... am I the only one who thinks ebukas agbada was not an "agbada"?

My reason is simple. An agbada is a symbol of maturity,a flowing garment won by men as a symbol of attainment of age, wealth, wisdom or social influence.

Ideally a boy cannot wear the agbada with grace, the flowing robe would not just sit right. So when ebukas takes the flowing awesomeness of the agbada and clips it into stylish submission.its no longer an agbada but a tunic. An odd mix of cultures from East,South south and the West is what I would use to describe the outfit and not "agbada the only thing missing is buttons and chains

E.g,you wouldn't call a bikers leather jacket,a blazer because it looks like one)

Kaftan is not a Yoruba word...and no Yoruba is claiming to own it. Agbada is what we are talking about.

Agbada
Encyclopedia of Clothing and Fashion

AGBADA
Agbada is a four-piece male attire found
among the Yoruba of southwestern
Nigeria and the Republic of Benin, West
Africa. It consists of a large, free-flowing
outer robe (awosoke ), an undervest
(awotele), a pair of long trousers (sokoto ),
and a hat (fìla ). The outer robe—from
which the entire outfit derives the name
agbada, meaning "voluminous attire"—is a
big, loose-fitting, ankle-length garment. It
has three sections: a rectangular
centerpiece, flanked by wide sleeves.

An agbada is a flowing robe, controlled by the "One thousand ,Five hundred"....

If you don't get that joke, you have really no say on the agbada conversation, just call your contraption something else.

The yorubas that share border with the north copied it ad passed it down to other yorubas..Eg ibadan, ilorin ad co..They were the first yorubas to wear agbada..Why did the ancient osun pipu the craddle of yoruba race dont wear agbada?
Even the bronze statue of oduduwa wasn't on agbada..Oni don't wear agbada,Even oba of lagos don't wear agbada..Only the alaafin of oyo ad his people wore agbada in those days due to borrowed culture of the hausas ad nupes true trade by battersad
