HiddenShadow:And yet it is to this "collapsed" economy that so many people from the rest of the country continue to migrate, day after day, especially to the very "overtaxed" Lagos which used to be run by Fashola ... The capacity of some people for self-delusion driven by tribalism is simply breathtaking. 3 Likes |

If it's to tax the citizens the speed they'll use to implement it will be compared to flash. But minimum wage increment has been going from comittee to comittee. BTW.. Once we start paying high tarrifs, it will never come down, fuel subsidy comes to mind |

Are there no better ways to generate electricity cheaper, ecology friendlier and durable rather than all this our archaic ways and asking the people to pay for what they are not enjoying? Our leaders are wicked!!! 1 Like 1 Share |

Kingspin: Shame on Nigerians for not holding these idiots to account By now some of these people should have been dragged from their homes, cars, churches and stoned. But Nigerians would rather turn a blind eye. Collective cowardice is a disease and Africans are suffering because of it. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Osinbajo and Buhari as our pharaoh and slave drivers 6 That same day Pharaoh gave this order to the slave drivers and overseers in charge of the people: You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making bricks; let them go and gather their own straw (we pay for electricity without electricity) 8. But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don’t reduce the quota. They are lazy; ( they say we are corrupt theives and don't want to pay taxes) That is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.” 10 Then the slave drivers and the overseers went out and said to the people, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you any more straw. Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced at all.’” So the people scattered all over Egypt to gather stubble to use for straw. The slave drivers kept pressing them, saying, “Complete the work required of you for each day, just as when you had straw. ” 1And Pharaoh’s slave drivers beat the Israelite overseers they had appointed, demanding, “Why haven’t you met your quota of bricks yesterday or today, as before?” 15 Then the Israelite overseers went and appealed to Pharaoh: “Why have you treated your servants this way? 16 Your servants are given no straw, yet we are told, ‘Make bricks!’ Your servants are being beaten, but the fault is with your own people.” 17 Pharaoh said, “Lazy, that’s what you are—lazy! That is why you keep saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’ 18 Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must produce your full quota of bricks.” 19 The Israelite overseers realized they were in trouble when they were told, “You are not to reduce the number of bricks required of you for each day.” 20 When they left Pharaoh, they found Moses and Aaron waiting to meet them, 21 and they said, “May the Lord look on you and judge you! You have made us obnoxious to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword in their hand to kill us.” |

HiddenShadow:This nonsense again! Who "closed" these ports? Are you trying to pretend that Onne isn't fully functional and even shipping more of certain classes of goods than the Lagos ports? Are you saying you haven't seen the numerous articles posted by Blue3k on the state of the eastern ports you mention? If you haven't, Google is your friend! This is what I'm talking about when I say some people have allowed tribalism to addle their brains. First you make an obviously counterfactual statement about taxation's alleged harmful effect on the SW (even though most European countries have far higher tax levels than any part of Nigeria), and now you've switched to parroting the same old debunked lies about the ports of the former eastern region. Your feelings of tribal pride are so fragile that you will reach for any and every possible excuse under the sun to put down those you hate and envy while puffing your "kinsmen" up as something out of the ordinary, even when all the facts point in a different direction. 10 Likes 1 Share |
