Mysine: You might want to check the average processing time in Nigeria. Last time I checked it was 22 weeks. If your application hasn't gone past that time, it is advisable to wait a couple weeks after the average processing time before sending a request email. This applies both to online or paper route. Every email you send to CIC is made part of your file and can be seen by a visa officer when they make a decision on your case. Avoid sending too many emails as this can make you appear like a Cannyland desperado. |

Hello Bosses, Special thank you goes to everyone who has been helping out, one way or the other. May God richly bless you. Yes, I have been AWOL, it wasn't intentional. Mehn, the school thing for here no be beans (No be as we think am but thank we thank God for grace). There is no time to reason about anything. So, on behalf of those that landed this past August/September 2017, I apologize to you. Congratulations to those that got approvals; to those waiting for their approvals, may God see you through ; to those delayed, repackage and refire. A quick one about letter of introduction/correspondence. You do not need to fret about it. Your approval is on the system, all you need is to present your PP at the POE and all should be good with respect to your VISA confirmation. Not everyone that is here got that letter. Some even got the letter few weeks after they got here... So fret not and start preparations. If you are landing in December/January... I beg you in the name of God, "gadge up". The weather no be joke... It is cold, yes very cold. For those sending PMs, I got your PMs but I am time constrained, so responding in a timely manner will be difficult. So if you need an urgent answer to any inquiry, please use this space. We are sorry once again. Peace.... Mazi 11 Likes |

After my secondary school I traveled to Canada for visit. Tried converting my visiting permit to Student, got refused and was told it has to be outside canada. Went to US twice to apply from LA got refused. Then Someone Advice I should applied from Nigeria. Came in Nigeria May 9th 2017 to apply after 6months got the last refusal. I am presently back in US with a Visiting Visa and still have 3 year left on my Canadian vising permit. I just secure admission for BSc in Regina and also 1 year course in Sask poly. But I need to know, what I am doing wrong before applying for the 5th time. More so I have never stayed beyond 6months when ever I visit Canada, I am still valid visitor to US and I plan to apply from US this time. I also have been to Europe and left when I needed. So I said Jangon, because I have never stayed beyond my stay in any coutry I visit. Email the program's Administrator or coordinator and he or she will show you how to start the process of deferring. If they need you to write a letter, they will tell you who to address to and why it has become necessary to defer the program. Mission2prosper: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by jnyuwa02: 6:13am On Nov 29, 2017 |
Mission2prosper: Send a letter asking to be deferred to the next academic term. Tell them you were denied visa and are working to address the issue. Order for your GCMS notes. No need to refire immediately knowing only half of the reasons you were denied. School might write a letter of support for your new visa application. But such a letter helps little to minimally to not at all, the burden of proof is still on you. Good luck! |

Omonoba1981: Why do you prefer studying in Canada? I will advice you just study the in the USA and not stress yourself with this Candian study permit thing. I studied in the USA and was a wonderful time. I doubt Canada can top it. But I could be wrong. The best professors and students and cutting edge research are in the USA. The only reason I can think of is maybe you are interested in residency? That is the reason why many study in Canada and not the USA. In the USA, your education does not qualify you for residency, the immigration law of that country is family based, not merit point based system as in Canada. If you really insist on studying in Canada, I will recommend you apply and get into a good program. The Regina program sounds wonderful!! Sit down and write a thoughtful letter of explanation on why you want to study in Canada even though you were accepted to the USA. Why Canada in essence and not the USA? Tell them the places you have visited and your history of keeping to the immigration laws of those countries. Tell them what a Canadian education means to you and the things you hope to accomplish for Nigeria on the long term. Your visa will boil down to addressing those issues wisely in a thoughtful SOP. You are young, so let them see you as wise and ready now to undertake what is a difficult and expensive undertaking. It seems to me you have been all over the place haphazardly applying without putting much thoughts to all these things. That is why you have been denied both procedurally (you cannot apply for Canada study permit while on visit in USA and Canada) and substantively when you returned to Nigeria. Sit down and file a thoughtful application this time around addressing your now readiness and gained experience and wisdom to undertake studies in Canada on your own. Come back to Nigeria and file the application. Good luck this time. 4 Likes |
