From all indications, uncle T owns 2.5B units of Transcorp shares through his company HEIRS HOLDINGS.
Anybody with idea of latest Transcorp shareholding structure.
pls share with us.
we need to know the seller first before knowing who the buyer is.
ofcourse the buyer knows he has nothing to loose but gain.

The seller might also have nothing to lose...... grin

His Direct holding is 2B and his INDIRECT HOLDING is 15B. He alone is tied around 17+B units.
Again,if his total holdings is arnd 17B, Do you think he is not the seller of 11B+ units yesterday? If he is,why sell a stock of 1.36 at 1.26. I just need to be cleared b4 monday.

I was the first to tell u that transcorp is not worth more than 80k.except they can double their EPS in subsequent quarters! Yes, with price manipulation, the price can still go up- this is NSE. But I will not even be moved cos I have paid my dues on nse grin
I am not willing to be fooled any longer

Anytime there is a cross deal of such magnitude it usually comes at a discount determined by both parties.

Unconfirmed report says there is going to be major realignment that will affect the shareholding structure from parent company to subsidiaries.

you will recall that http://www.tribuneonlineng.com/hilton-transcorp-hotels-signs-20-year-management-extension-agreement/ this happened recently and you don't expect hilton not to be a stakeholder in a company they sign 20 years contract with.

I am not a fan of Transcorp ooo,but if I have loose money I will buy transcorp shares for these reasons;

1. The company will have easy access to loan at single digit interest by the virtue of Uncle T presence in UBA
2. The company is growing her PAT at over 70% QoQ, YoY which to me is sign of good management
3. Transcorp will augment her power asset when FG commence the sale of power asset.
4. The company is yet to achieve her full potentials going by the subsidiaries that are yet to start serious business.

imagine! Some people think that he has a more accurate system than those that invested more than N10billn at 1.26. I don't know why currentprice talk like this. The other day he attacked diamond even at N1, where is diamond today? I want to advice all not to attack any company cause you are not there. There are levels of investors. No wise investor would invest up to N1blln in caverton or cilease

Locodemy is worried over transcorp. grin
That someone bought @1.26 does not mean the share price will plummet.

But I thought you did your due diligence very well. grin
If so, you should be happy to buy more @1.26 and below next week.

Disclosure: I have some units of transcorp in my portfolio.

My brother.I have good units of this stock.why not worry for such a huge transaction.
what of if the buyer decide to have a controlling hand on the company and later reconstruct our shares for his own good.Reason with me.I can only feel relax if uncle T is still incharge. He must protect his company and shares.

This brings to mind the past temporal change of management in Dangflour/Tigerbrands. Is Tony again trying to take the footsteps of Aliko?
Just random thoughts..

DeRuggedProf:
Recall:

March 31, 2011

Today, 2.51 billion units of Transcorp Plc, representing 10% of its total outstanding shares (25 billion units) were crossed on the floors of the exchange and no market information was made available in this regard.

This immediately raises concerns with us as this transaction, whilst confirming the analyst comments in our March 22, 2011 review - ‘What's driving the resurgence of the Transcorp price?’ ; indicates a possible takeover bid or an abuse of market processes.

The Implications

It would appear that there is an issue with this transaction. Certain persons with funds have decided that this company’s fundamentals represent a good investment and have decided to take advantage of this benefit.

The question now needs to be asked – how did this deal go through – with NSE approval with or without the company’s consent. The board and the NSE owe the market an explanation.

Informed sources point to an ex-bank CEO who has shown a bullish approach to the firm and who has support from a leading stockbroking firm that hitherto had issues of ethical boundaries with the exchange.

We await the report from the NSE on this transaction and a validation or rebuttal of the compliance guidelines

NB:
Who bought/sold over 11b units of transcorp yesterday....
...interesting topic ongoing about Transcorp's cross deal.

I tried to see investor's reaction in 2011 when similar deal was done as @DeRuggedProf quoted above. From the chart, it looks like short term reaction (1 -2 weeks) was good while medium term (1 year) reaction was terrible and long-term (>1 year) investor's reaction is very encouraging as price rallied to 2.

In terms of the medium term reaction, I think the entire NSE stocks fell during this period as NSE index also declined till 2012 ending. This indicates that the fall in transcorp medium term after the cross-deal is not particular but general market reaction to Nigeria economy during the period under review.

In conclusion, in the past investor's reaction towards this type of deal resulted into the stock price to rally short-term and long term.

NB: Past Performance Is Not Indicative Of Future Occurence
grin grin grin grin grin

@Loco

Obviously there are issues in your hands. Your decision on transcorp is more of gambling than an investment or trading.

Why lose sleep? If you have done your due diligence. Man if you are no longer comfortable cut loses if any now.

You have touched your comfort zone brother. Plan your trade and trade the plan. The house is in a bet, on rumor

then wait to drink wine if it goes well. If it does not take loses and move on. CI, Caverton and some others are not better than Transcorp.

Good stocks stay strong during rally they dont fall like a victim of pump and dump.

If you have 5M units only and you are losing sleep and drinking, should uncle T lose his breath and also acquire Nigerian breweries?
Relax, when they are counting oceans, rivers should wait their turn..... grin
Even here, I believe strongly that 5M units is a fraction of 1% of what some guys here staked on Tony's gamble.

Tony may have increased his holdings from mere 46% using UCAP..... grin
75% is normally the target for big boys...... grin

NB: time reveals everything.... grin
We could all be wrong.

Discl: I have some units, NOT based on FA.
