Mujtahida:

Just say you don't want Martins because this your Ighalo yarns get as ee be. When I argued against the inclusion of Martins I based it entirely on my sentiments and I said so. Your attempt to rationalise why Ighalo will be invited and not Martins when both of them play in China, have almost the same goalscoring stats, when Ighalo has not scored a single goal with his head for us makes your points one kind, one kind Bro. Ighalo is not one known to be good with his head. Since Adepoju and maybe Agali we've not had any player that it can be said that that player is good with his head. None!
Better to argue against his inclusion on the grounds of team spirit but not this points above. They ain't valid.
Not entirely sure but I think ighalo scored with his head in the 3-0 flogging of Cameroon last year

Oh for mentioning forgiveness,my man normally for me am always say SORRY if i offend any moniker through my comments and move on cos with my age i don't think i should be here having issues on top football.

As i said am here to learn and share information and my love for a team i have been following since 1980.If I post a comment I know what am doing and not to mock or ridicule any moniker.

My comment on that post is simple and easy to understand.Great guys like Joebie, junnyake,Mujtahida, tbaba1013,Goke7,goldfish80 etc do post news here for us to read but have never seen them post a news to mock or ridicule any gentle monikers. The post was targeted at forgiveness and it was glaring.Mind you i don't care if it's forgiveness cos it can be anybody and i will still say the same thing.

We are free to express ourselves but we should not believe it was just a forum, let me say whatever i like,no is not done that way.We should all remember something brought us here which is the love for super eagles, then why are we always take offence on simple matter that can be resolved amicably..

With due respect my man am not here to gang talk anybody down based on his choice of player or his contrary view to my analysis.Honestly am here to gather information through you guys cos is valuable.

My comment was not to defend forgiveness but to let the poster know that he can't post a news to taunt anyone but for us to read and discuss.

If mentioning forgiveness is my offence am indeed sorry not to defend him but to correct the poster.

Thanks and God bless.
How can you be so sure the news was directed at forgiveness? Even mujtahida posted a news today directed at komekn. I don't see it as much of a big deal

please remind me how he scored the 3rd goal against the cameroonians in the last friendly we played in Brussels...
I admit I was wrong to say he's scored no goal for us with his head. But then so it was just one goal and you say he is good with his head. Iheanacho is good with his head too abi? Remember he scored with his head against Cameroon.

ighalo earned his super eagles call base on his exploit in the epl sometime ago....and since then...he has not dip in form in the eyes of the super eagles team handlers.....
Don't shift the goalposts. Whatever Ighalo did to earn his call or recall is not the crux of the matter here.
some of you don't know...that players rating by coaches go beyond their performance in the field of play....
Mister training performance is also inclusive....ebuehi has never kicked a ball besides the Corsica friendly dude still gets invitation every now and then...reason because of what rohr sees in training.....
.
I should be telling you goodnight at this point because this drift is a real drift from why you want Ighalo who plays in China but not Martins who plays in same China when both have almost same stats. What you just said above has no relevant to the specific context of what you first posted and my query on it.

so you keep....your lame reason for not wanting martins to yourself....but as for me...dude is not better than the players we currently have in the super eagles...
You've not said anything my guy.

Sometimes I do wonder if the List gonna be made by Dudes on this Thread. I am convinced that Rohr knows he must deliver, or else his Head gonna end up on a Spike.

Just a Loss to the South Africans in an AFCON qualifying Match , he almost got grilled and barbecued, even on this Thread.

Except, he's toiling with his Job, he's certain to invite Players that he hopes gonna deliver and play to his Instructions and Tactics.

NFF, with the backing of Aiteo and the FG, are ready to pamper and support him financially for the Mundial, thus Failure is the last thing he wouldn't do his Best to avoid.

It's more important to discuss Nigeria Chances at the WC, than the unending Martins Ish. I've been expecting Dudes to start reeling out Stats of our Group Opponents, scouting their Players and updating us with Reports instead of fighting an E-Civil War.

Some are already taking the Matter so personal, to the extent that Name-calling is gradually coming into play! Enough is Enough!

He doesn't score often with his head, but typically, this is to be expected, considering Victor moses rarely crosses the ball and Simon's delivery is atrocious.

Exactly man! I mean if he's saying Ighalo has better qualities and this same Ighalo is benching Nacho, why not compare Nacho qualities to that of Martins. What does Nacho bring as a 9 that Martins caren't offer??
The only valid excuse for not inviting Martins is sentimental(i.e disruptive presence in the dressing room, etc) but it can NEVER be based on ability. That is fact. Martins is a better 9 than Nacho at the moment. I'll continue to say it.
See I have previously argued against the inclusion of Martins and when I was asked why I argued that way I said my arguments were purely sentimental.
What I wanted to do was to make him give plausible reasons for his argument because the reason he gave comparing Ighalo and Martins on heading no be am at all. That's why I said he should just say he doesn't want Martins. Not all our desires have to be logical. Some can be sentimental too.

enyeama on his own personality has pride...and kind of stubborn..
though he is a great guy and a very good goal keeper.....

I think he should let go of the past and as well just give the coach and Nigerians...this last respect......he don't need the nff to talk to him to rescind his Decision....

I read his response to the coach words...
the other time....he was already begin to have issues wit the coach....

well....let him stick to his retirement if that will.be best for him...though I will appreciate he returns....
Honestly very great guy and i will always remember him for what he did for Dele Aiyenugba.

Enyeama singlehandedly made sure Dele Aiyenugba was signed by his Isreali club from Enyimba when he was about to leave the club.

If Enyeama stick to his retirement he would be held in high esteem for thinking well and have his record intact as all time Eagles number one (2002-2016)

At his club nko? Rashidi had Finidi floating tantalising crosses but I doubt Rashidi scored so much with his head for us.
You have raised an interesting point though: I watched the Eagles when wing play was so much part of our game as in crosses. I have mentioned it here that we don't cross the ball and I was told that that is no longer the way wing play is done these days but I've watched Germany, France, Spain and England still do crosses. I love crosses because they are like free kicks. You get them right and it spares you some stress.

Even inverted wingers cross the ball when the need arises. Sometimes, crossings come in handy especially when playing against those Asians that are very fast and can recover quickly but are short. It is also a tactic and should be mastered for ease of flexibility.

Nwakaeme should be given a chance but I have strong doubts he'd come good. He seems not to have the gene of an Eagle. Maybe he's a hawk but not an Eagle.

70 minutes? I doubt that.

Until he's given another chance, won't judge him based on that lone incident.

A player doing well in Israel and Europa can't be that bad all of a sudden. (Not like I prefer him to any better forwards, just trying to play the devil's advocate here).

Yea what people can't control, conquer, understand, they hate.
kennysville:

May God reward you richly for this post. I have said this severally concerning Sunday Oliseh. He has his own methods. I can relate to his style of leadership because discipline is key. If you know where you are going, the whole world steps aside. It is when people dont value you that they start to question your moves. Its something I experience most times and I laugh at people because they just want things done in a way that you dont compromise relationships. I say to hell with whatever relationship will mar my productivity. What Oliseh did at Fortuna Dusseldoff was to remove any iota of player power which lately seems to be the order of the day in world football. I would rather have players who are loyal to my ideas and ideals than players who have a different philosophy or question every decision I make. You may not know this, but thats how dissension starts in a team.

I hear a lotta people talk about man management. Truth be told, human beings are one's greatest asset and also they are one's greatest problem. Its all about serving the right purposes. If someone wont serve my purpose, there is no way we would get along. Especially because when things go wrong, my name comes first. Lets recap a little.... Oliseh never lost a competitive qualifiers thus callin him names regarding the Afcon loss is a bit unfair. The chief culprit is Siasia who drew at home and lost away to Egypt. But what does the narrative say now? OLISEH FAILED TO QUALIFY NIGERIA FOR AFCON. We know the rest of the story.

Ezenwa should not play against his club when CHAN Eagles takes on Enyimba.
Well, i'm saying Ajiboye rather should be in goal for CHAN Eagles when they take on Enyimba.

tbaba1234:
NPFL Invitational: Contest for Enyimba's gloves starts here

The fight for first team goalkeeper in the camp of former champions, Enyimba International promises to be a matter of interest at the 2017/18 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Pre-season Invitational which kicks off at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano from Monday, December 11.

In his return to the club, coach Paul Aigbogun is faced with a headache many coaches would pray for. For the season, the club has listed three keepers with potentials to lay claim to the number one spot.

It is no longer news that the club has recruited national team keeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa. The question on many lips has been; will Ezenwa be the undisputed first choice at the Confederation Cup campaigners?

This question becomes pertinent taking into cognizance the presence of Theophilus Afelokhai and Ghanaian, Fatau Dauda. It will be recalled that there was no clear-cut first choice among the duo last season with former coach, Gbenga Ogunbote doing more of rotation.

There was little or nothing to pick between the two and with each passing training session, Ogubbote's task got more difficult. The club then instituted a type of incentive which saw whoever had more clean sheets between the two get some reward. Any keeper who had three consecutive clean sheets home and away got what was called the chairman's bonus.

This even made the competition fiercer. Not conceding goals meant more to the keepers. This writer got wind of the bonus after seeing Dauda's reaction to Stephen Odey's goal when Enyimba engaged MFM in Calabar. That goal in his first home game, jolted his quest for the chairman's bonus. Afelokhai went ahead to pocket the bonus once last season but never got a breathing space from Dauda.

After stints at Chippa United, Orlando Pirates and Ashanti Gold, Dauda came highly rated. Currently Ghana's third choice keeper, he commands a pedigree that could easily install him as a first choice in any NPFL club. The desire to keep his national team place has heightened his quest to be Enyimba's first choice.

But he has to contend with Afelokhai, a colossal figure between the sticks. Afelokhai moved to Enyimba after a 10 year stint at Kano Pillars which heralded the golden era of Sai Masu Gida. He was in charge as Pillars won the title three consecutive times. This was the intimidating reputation he brought to Enyimba, Nigeria's most successful team.

So whatever high ratings Dauda brought from Ghana was dwarfed by the serial winner, Afelokhai. Just as Afelokhai cannot dismiss Dauda's credentials with a wave of the hand. It is therefore understandable if a coach has difficulties picking one ahead of the other.

If Ogunbote had this headache last season, Aigbogun will even be faced with a tougher task next term with Ezenwa's addition. With Vincent Enyeama stalling on returning to the national team, Ezenwa is primed to be Nigeria's first choice at the World Cup thus the need to get more playing time.

Not a few attributed his poor showing against Algeria in Constantine to inactivity due to the NPFL season being on break. For him to excel at football's showpiece event, he must get regular competitive action. To do so, he must upstage Afelokhai and Dauda at Enyimba.

Was Enyimba the right choice for Ezenwa? Shouldn't he have opted for a club where he will be a clear-cut first choice?

Enyimba Sporting Director, Jude Anyadufu was at the center of the Ezenwa's deal and thinks it was the best for the player and the nation.

His words; "Ezenwa needs a big club like Enyimba that is also on the continent. He is going to the World Cup and could be Nigeria's first choice so he needs to play actively both in the league and on the continent. He needs to face quality oppositions that should give some idea about what he will see at the World Cup".

But would the presence of Afelokhai and Dauda guarantee the regular football Ezenwa would crave for?

Anyadufu replied; "He does not need any guarantee. He has to fight for his place. These two keepers will make him work hard both in training and in the matches. He doesn't need to be sure that he must start. That will make him feel relaxed. If Ezenwa must play for a club in the NPFL, it should be Enyimba. We will do our best in the club to ensure he is ready for the World Cup".

"We still have the chairman's bonus in place for this season. He has to battle it out with the other keepers. Before he gets the opportunity to keep clean sheets, he must play. And he has to prove to the coaches in training that he is better than Dauda and Afelokhai. We are happy to have three quality keepers in the team. You will also know that we are playing in three competitions. There will be enough matches for all of them to show what they can do. What it means is that whatever happens, we must have somebody solid in goal in every match"

The audition for Enyimba's number one spot this season starts with the NPFL Pre-season Invitational. While Dauda and Afelokhai will be on parade for Enyimba, Ezenwa will file out for CHAN Eagles. Interestingly, Enyimba and CHAN Eagles are in the same group. A scenario having Ezenwa on one end and the duo on the other is in the offing.

Nigeria Will Be A Walk-over, They Have No Star Player Apart From Moses- Croatian Coach Says

Croatian coach, Boris Pučić, believes his side will thrash Nigeria in their 2018 World Cup fixture on June 16.

Speaking on Tuesday, he wrote Nigeria off, saying the only star player in the squad is Victor Moses.

”Obi Mikel plays in China, Moses has been injured for some time and has just returned to Chelsea’s first team, while others are all in some side-tiers.

”Iheanacho and Musa are in reserve in Leicester, Iwobi for Arsenal plays a bit more, but Nigeria is now the shadow of the national team that they once called ‘African Brazil.

”Simply, there is no star player besides Moses in Chelsea and the team is not close to what we remember from the World Cup in the United States or France that played really well.”

The last time I checked it was not Idah who tried convincing Enyeama. Rohr has already held talks with Enyeama, and has given the keeper conditions. The handwriting will clearly be on the wall if Enyeama cannot meet the conditions.
Rohr will give us the final word.

terzurum5:
Vincent Enyeama makes final decision on his return to the Super Eagles ahead of the 2018 World Cup

Author: Ibitoye Shittu

- Vincent Enyeama has reportedly told former Super Eagles goalie Peterside Idah that he will not return to the Super Eagles

- Nigeria have qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and many Nigerians want Enyeama back in the national team

- Peterside Idah claimed Enyeama told him that he is tired of playing for the Super Eagles

Ex Super Eagles goalie Peterside Idah has reportedly claimed that Vincent Enyeama told him in a conversation that he will not be making a return to the national team.

According to the report by Vanguard, Vincent Enyeama told Idah that he is tired playing for Nigeria and the Super Eagles coaches should count him out of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Recently, there have been many talks concerning the return of goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to the national team considering the fact that Nigeria have qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Many Nigerian football lovers believe that the experience of the former Enyimba captain will be of great help for the Super Eagles in Russia.

“I was one of those who spoke to Enyeama when there was an attempt to get him back to the national team and he told me he’s tired of playing for Nigeria.

“So, there should be no Enyeama going to the World Cup. The players should have the love to play for Nigeria and not the love to play at the World Cup and make history.” Idah was quoted to have said by Vanguard.

This latest development is expected to be a disappointment for Super Eagles Gernot Rohr as NAIJ.com had earlier reported how the coach confirmed that Enyeama will return to the national team.

Rohr never invited him through out our impressive qualifiers run and we still dont need him. Let him make his top dollars and let the better players play. Are you an Oduduwa paid agent or something?

forgiveness:

Kayode has never been on Rohr's plan. So, save us the lies he will lose his place.

Which place? Person wey never kick ball don dey lose place?

Kayode, if you like score 1 million goals, accept now that you don't have a place in current SE before u go develop heart attack once your name goes missing on the WC list. Why? Me I no know. grin na just ya faith be that.

But it was the way out for our first goal.. grin
Who even coined that "jam body" again? lol

Icon4s:

I was never moved by Nwakaeme's hype here. He was brought in to bully the Cameroonians (Jam body football), something I knew was not the best way out.

I have like 10 nooses.. Who would like to hang?

Mujtahida:

The argument is a huge waste. Rohr will invite who he will invite. What if he doesn't invite Martins? What would the Pro Martins people do? What if he invites him? What would the anti Martins people do? Both will do nada!
