that comment is illegal bro. Martial's like big toe is better than Lingard no matter how hard he presses. Also like I said there should be no circumstance barring injury that any Croat should be mentioned in the same breath as Modric, that's football blasphemy.

Why? I am more worried about Lingard. Our system relies a lot on the defence and goalkeeper keeping possession. Lingard will make it a bit tough. Lukaku having more talent does not change the fact that I am more scared of Lingard than Lukaku.

Just as I am more scared of Kovacic than Modric. Simple. We leave gaps during play and Kovacic thrives on running into spaces.

We go with a Right wing back option. Meaning we need just one RWB Back-up. You pick Moses as the first choice, leaving room for one slot from the RBs.
I don't understand this. Are we going to play only one formation? Okay assuming we decide to play 3-5-2 in a certain game and Vicmo is the RWB we will have just one sub for his position. But what happens when in the next game we decide to go 4-4-3, does that mean we would have just one RB with no sub since 3-5-2 determined our choice of players?

By the way I don't see us sticking to this 3-5-2 as our main tactics. It's just one more tactics in our toolbox to enhance our options and unpredictability.

Moses should not be selected as a wing back in the 23 man list, hr should be selected as a forward but can be deployed to the wing back role anytime it calls for it. Shehu and Ebuehi for RB/RWB and any two of Aina/Idowu/Echiejile for LB/LWB
Ehen, this is clearer to me.

I feel Ebuehi played the 3-5-2 system better than Shehu against Argentina but let us see him in more games first. He seems to recover better than Shehu though the whole team was poor in the first half.

Shehu was outstanding in the qualifiers.

We can adjust personnel depending on the approach to the game.
As you have said, a player who recovers in time will make a better wing back because he is attack minded and defense minded at same time. So from what I have seen so far, I will play Ebuehi as a wing back (that is if Moses is to play an offensive role) if we are to use a three back line formation and play Shehu as a Right Back if we are using a four man back line.

That is one of the demerits of that 3-5-2 formation. It will not allow us to maximize our potentials.
But If we must play 3-5-2 and we have to bring in Victor Moses we line up like this:

............Moses..........Iheanacho

........................Iwobi
Idowu......Mikel.............Ndidi....Ebuehi

.......Awaziem ......Balogun.......Ekong

I prefer Moses in the attack and not as Wing Back. He is our major attacking weapon.

Icons I had to do this reshuffle for these two reasons :

*Awaziem takes the left side of the 3man defense bkus Balogun is lacking in pace, with Octopus Ndidi and Mikel in front of Balogun, his pace won't be put to test.

*Shehu is better suited to play as a fullback than RWB. A case study is our game against Argentina. We all saw how ebuehi made the difference.

Bar, these ltl reshuffling, man u r so wicked, u don't mean any good for ur opponents. U damne heartless Icon4s.

This is a very emotional laden comment, not an analysis.
Obinna was just about average for West Ham.As a matter of fact, he struggled to get into gear probably because of his new environment. Recall he even got a red card when he was settling in....
I wonder why you will make such a prejudiced comment against a club whose manager at the time Avram Grant have a decent pedigree coaching African players. At Portsmouth, the man had more black Africans than Europeans in the team.
He even came down to Africa and managed Black stars. So much for an African/Nigerian hater.
For goodness sake, why will Avram Grant bench a performing player when his West Ham side were neck deep into a relegation fight? This line of thought doesn't even make sense.

Ahmed Musa is not playing for Leicester City for political reasons. He was basically out of Leicester City the day he laid hands on his wife. That incident was bad publicity for Leicester City. Clubs don't take the sort of things lightly.
He is lucky not to be in jail.

How can we be running around the Internet, craving for respect from our world cup opponents. Yet our best player is playing with the U21's. We are banking on this same player to fire us to the world cup semi finals. Yet you see nothing wrong with this?
I tire for una.
Ahmed Musa's difficulty in securing a place as a starter began as soon as he got to Leicester not when he had that thing with his wife. Just wanted to set the records straight.

Pls which one is modern CF or traditional striker again cos i remember 23 year ago all our FW were potential goal scorers and check US 94 team,Amokachie 2 goals,Amuneke 2 goals,Siasia 1 goal,Findi 1 goal,Yekini 1 goal and i don't think there was anything like modern CF during this period.

What we have in that team was top 9 which is Yekini but with your analysis and thegoodjoe am really confused on the role of Amokachie, Amuneke, Siasia,Finidi,do we called them modern CF?cos they are real goal poachers and Yekini as traditional striker.

The present eagle is not different from US squad if you check our goals statistics our forwards shared similar traits with what we have at US 94.They are real goal scorers.

Truly football has evolved but not much cos this your modern CF was used by Westerhoff but with the presence of traditional striker.

Now back to your comment you said we dont have modern CF but what are Iheanacho,Iwobi,Vic Moses,Simeon Moses,Onyekwuru,Kayode?

Remember with our traditional striker in Nwakaeme we could only scored a goal against Algeria but in his absence we had four goals against Argentina,

My question now with the absence of traditional striker against Argentina, who was our CF cos you said we don't have modern CF and what really make a player a modern CF and even traditional striker.

If you follow the discussion, some people told me we don't need a traditional striker when it is glaring we play 4-2-3-1 formation that demands a traditional striker.

Now, out of the players you mentioned Vicmo, Simon and Onyekuru are outside forwards or wingers which is also part of forward but they are not CFs, while Iheanacho type of forward is SS. He can't play the outside forward and CF. Gbam.

The only player that can play CF is Kayode. This is why Guardiola placed a personal call to get him on man city's book.

Against Argentina, we played a different formation and the coach used two forwards. They were false 9 in that 3-5-2 formation.

That is what Iwobi and Iheanacho loves doing.
Rohr is trying to find a place for Iheanacho because he realized Iheanacho can't play the traditional strike role in our 4-2-3-1 formation hence the reason he tried him on the wing and later paird him with Iwobi in 3-5-2 formation.

But i don't think we will use only one formation hence the need to have a traditional strike and CF in the team. If we want to go far in the WC else we will get stucked when teams decode our one way pattern of play. That's if we stick with just one formation which is typical with African teams.

Rashidi Yekini scored a goal and provided 2 assists. One was from the flank.

In theory, this like up can work if you move Mikel down to replace Ogu, then move Iwobi down to in place of Mikel, and put Ighalo in Iwobi's position. Those are the pros.

The con(s): Victor Moses doesn't play with the same discipline for the Super Eagles as he does for Chelsea. He might not track back to support the defence.
It doesn't make a lot of sense to deploy your best and most creative player as a wingback.

O pari

It's good you used the word 'might'. But come to think of it:throughout our WCQ series Vicmo always tracked back whether on the right or left to help defensively. Remember he initiated most of our counters from deep within our own half. So if he can do that in a formation that doesn't put the primary duty to defend on him why won't he do that when he plays in a formation that actually puts that duty on him to defend?. I think what you said has more to do with perception than the reality. Same thing when people say Vicmo is one of our selfish players. Before yes. But not under Rohr.

This is hilarious. Moses have been playing with discipline in team during the WCQ, and I think that is one of the good things that Rohr brought into this team. You see him tracking back and he was even the guy that dispossessed a Cameroonian player in our defense that lead to the counter attack that he scored. He has been disciplined under Rohr, and he would be better disciplined as a wing back.

And V. Moses as the “most creative player” in the team with Mikel and Iwobi? I will say that not many people share that opinion.
I replied his posts with exactly the points you just put forward here without reading your posts. Same thing when people say Vicmo is selfish. If that refers to Vicmo of previous years I'd say yes but not Vicmo under Rohr. To continue to say that about him is just a carry over from the past.

Guardiola never wanted Iheanacho again hence his request to sell him outrightly, instead of keeping him or sending him on loan.

Left to Iheanacho, he wanted to stay and fight for Shirt but it was Guardiola's decision to let him go.

The point is, Guardiola didn't consider Iheanacho good enough as a modern forward hence the need to let him go. EOD
When I read about that Gaurdiola I realised that he won't want Iheanacho. That man is something else. Iheanacho is not his kind of player. I don't think he rates Nacho. If Nacho had stayed there and trained for a whole millennium, Gaurdiola will still not buy into Nacho.

Like I said sir, that's his style of coaching, he's more of a klopp/pep/mourinho (coaches that prefer players they can control), that's his philoshophy and I don't see him changing it for anything. He's been like that even from his playing days so you think he will just change all of a sudden? He's blunt, outspoken and likes to have his way and like I said, it's working for him.

Pep chased away some players when he took over Barcelona, did same in Man city, mourinho did same too.

Keshi was known for that too but talked less unlike oliseh, what he's doing is not peculiar as you have also noticed so let's just wish him the best and allow him grow in his own right.

It's his style fine, and if he's to progress that much further, he needs to understand others and shouldn't always be the other way round.

Can you compare the Mourinho of then, to the mourinho of now? He's a bit more reserved and sensible of recent.

Or you think he'd always be afforded with the luxury of scattering everything before building up, by team owners who are looking after their business.

For example he's given a 6-month contract to save a team from relegation and his contract can be extended if he succeed, would you advise him to spend all his time hunting for coaches and players to sack just because they don't fit in or advise him to get to work almost immediately with what is made available to him.

Origi is Belgian, he does not need passport as much as Iheanacho. Nacho moved because he did not want to sit on the bench in a World Cup year. However, there was no critical look into the team's playing style before he moved. Staying at City, training under a high intense tactical system and getting his passport seemed a better option.

Now, he has to make the best of where he finds himself. Who knows he can still find his way back in the squad.
OK, passport comes first before football. I hear you.
