So our government allow Chinese investors into our country in exchange for outdated train technology. I doubt they still use these type of trains in China's mega cities. This is exploitation |

It's good ,but for the life of me,this is not high-speed.There is a train in China that runs at a speed of 275 km/h. That's high speed. |

GavelSlam: Buhari government is also not a good one. If you follow buhari steps you will understand why obasanjo failed as president. Obasanjo was not very corrupt, but he took many bad decisions that why he failed. Look, what are the projects done by the clueless old man buhari since he became president? Obasanjo made the same mistake. |

Na wa for some of una for this thread, our railway transport has been grounded for so many years now at least they have bought some not too modern train coaches even if it's not the standard of developed countries let us start somewhere and revive back our rail transport. Then in years when it is fully operational and generating enough revenue we can demand for the modern fast trains like that of the developed countries. For now good development. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Nigerian government and lies, These are not current train system. These are the train used and abandoned for better technology. They ship it to Nigeria because the nigerian rail system has not been upgraded and that is well suited for the achaic rail road we have. Please google to see latest train and the rail road. Stop calling this fastest No one cares about this in civilized society No longer in use in most places |

http://en.people.cn/n3/2017/0915/c90000-9269696.html Chinese train producer makes Africa’s fastest trains By Sun Wenyu (People's Daily Online) 19:39, September 15, 2017 A batch of trains rolled off the production line of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) Nanjing Puzhen Co., Ltd., on Sept. 12, and will be shipped to the Port of Lagos in Nigeria a month later, news site thepaper.cn reported. These 10 standard-gauge trains were ordered by Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in May this year. They have adopted Chinese standards, and will be the fastest trains running in Africa, with a design speed of 160 km/h. Operation speed could be as high as 150 km/h. Gbenga Ashafa, chairman of the Nigerian Senate Committee on Land Transport, believes that the Chinese trains will definitely improve the railway development of the country. He said Nigeria is a fertile land open to foreign direct investments with a high return rate. According to the CRRC Nanjing Puzhen, it is the second order placed by the NRC. The first of five trains was ordered in 2015 and delivered in 2016. CRRC Nanjing Puzhen has finished 10 orders for six African countries so far, including Nigeria, Sudan, Cameron, and Kenya. |

tuzeriouz: Outside of Europe how many countries use TGV? Does Nigeria need to pay that premium now? Why not build up a viable network and then go from there? In the same way that you wouldn't buy your daughter a Rolls Royce as a first vehicle it doesn't make sense for Nigeria to buy TGVs. 1 Like |
