I've witnessed two scenarios where an ATM dispensed fake naira notes and I'm sure those notes were not there by mistake.
Very true...I have also witnessed it before!

Yes, if as you said, he just came for a program, and his visa is has already expired, then he is probably staying here illegally. AS for sustaining himself - it's anyone's guess. He may have come with a lot of money, or he may have started working underground (getting paid cash for a menial job).

sassysure:
Pls, there is something bothering me that I want u guys to help me sort out. A middle aged man left his family last yr to USA for a programme(I think govt related) and is supposed to go back to Nigeria at the end of that programme but he didn't. It's more than a yr now and his family(finished giving birth since) are of the opinion he will soon send for them. I'm close to the wife and anytime we chat, she is always hopeful she will soo leave Nigeria.

Is the man not staying in USA illegally? How is he sustaining himself and promising his family they will soon join him? Is something like that possible. Cos I want the woman to stop living in utopia. Thanks

Well I realised marriage will give me access to green card than H1b... After school, i wont be killing myself with employers.

The truth is i married for love. If she is not an American, Yes, i will still marry her. That's the truth! But then i let her know that i hope she will file for me if we get married, she said that is not a problem and she did.. papers is an added advantage... I was messing with a nairalander the other day saying by the time we finish school, You will be looking for H1B whereas I have no need to..

Getting married for papers(Sham marriages) no really worth am but I cant decide for someone what he wants to do..

What a wonderfully written summary. Thanks for this. But it is still what it is... A summary. I don't mean to pry but i believe a more story-like writeup would be waaayyy cooler.
