Honestly i see it as encumbrance. Though I paid I never see reason for it. Nigerian make many things difficult for themselves. it is only in Nigeria you pay two years rent upfront for a house you have not stayed in enriching the landlord. it is only in Nigeria that wages are owed for 32 months why some people are paid every two week. Nigeria you they very tough.

Imagine no bride price and you pay your house rent at month end, imagine the number of young men who will marry their bride instantly

I've witnessed a case of a lady over 30yrs, her parents made everything easy 4 d guy but did not just give her to him. he had to do something. even d parent of some young girls contribute to their daughters marriage ceremony. it depend greatly on d parents so d issue should be 4 parents to reduce their prices not removing bride price
