Wonderful. Stage set. Trump's foreign policy might not involve attack and occupation like typical US policy. All he needs to do is refuse to help. This withdrawal of obligations will not only harm America's opponents, it will make the country stronger. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Instead of Nigeria to tactically abstain from voting, you voted against U.S.A....Buhari should be afraid of the influence of American on Nigeria election. If you are still doubting, please ask oga jona 15 Likes |

Aphrygian: Imagine the US withdrawing the aide it gives to Nigeria. What happens to abstaining? Imagine developed countries like Canada and Australia abstaining. 18 Likes |

Aphrygian:it is not pepper.....infact, it will be a blessing in disguise for some countries. aids have never made any country develop and rich, instead it leaves them in perpetual poverty. Nature has made it such that every country can survive as long as they are thinkers and doers. 34 Likes 6 Shares |

South Korea and Japan voted against US. that shows Trump how silly he is and the fear of destabilization of the region by sane world leaders. Blackmail is a crime in the US, I wonder what congress thinks of Trump's threat to withdraw aids to those that voted against him. 11 Likes |

Nigeria should have abstained from voting and claim they are weighing up their options. How does Nigeria's relation with Palestinian and Arabs benefits us economically? There is distrust among Arab league members and most of them still rely on US military. 6 Likes |

Built2last: Does it even matter? When was the last time the UN was able to stop US? President Bush went into Iraq without UN's support? What did UN do? UN is comprised of 5 countries: US, UK, Russia, France and China. They are the ones with veto powers. The other countries are inconsequential in the scheme of things. They are there as bench-warmer invited to have a sense of belonging. It doesn't help that US is funding 22% of the UN activities/operations--the centerpiece of Trump's arm-twisting of other countries to pay in their fair share. US is very smart. They bring in fund and ammunition while useless countries like Nigeria, Uganda, etc. are made to sacrifice their manpower. Like they say in US, "there is no such thing as a free lunch". 12 Likes |

BeeBeeOoh:If 127 other countries voted against the resolution, then Nigeria has done nothing wrong. Over vote is not for sale. Even SA is going downgrade their embassy to a liaison office in Israel. Nobody rigged the vote. Every body just gave a piece of their mind. 20 Likes |

Built2last: Some of u ain't verse in international politics.... Gone are the days you will fear offending the US. Nigeria has started taking stands without fear of US backlash. We did it wen they pressured us for the gay law. If US withdraw their support...other world powers like Russia and China will gladly fill that space. The latter are even looking to grow their influence in Africa so its an opportunity they crave. Secondly Nigeria is a leader in Africa and any responsible member of the UN will condemn a move that will surely destabilise the region and disrupt the peace process. If uk, france, germany, Japan and Korea can oppose the us on this...it tells u a lot....y'all need to know the history of the issue to understand why the world is against the move. The CIA director under Obama called the move 'beyond outrageous'.- especially when the us threatened countries that planned to vote for the resolution. The us under trump is acting as a rogue state and any responsible country will stand up to be counted in opposing it 36 Likes 6 Shares |

Built2last:Naija lacks foreign affairs politics, how can you vote against a country you're seeking favours from desperately, who does that..and moreover the exercise was a charade that lacks political jurisdiction in it self.. Israel is an independent state and has the right to declare any where in it territory as it capital, they did and America simply recognized..it all depends on who controls the territory, if Palestine get control over Jerusalem they should also do the same 2 Likes 1 Share |

dictbennie: It would be a blessing for us. According to the Dependency Theory, the less we depend on core states, the more we would develop. You think these core states like America are doing us a favor by giving us aids? Of course, not. They are simply encouraging us to depend on them, thereby suppressing our chances of developing. It is a sort of neocolonialism that needs to stop soon for Nigeria to truly attain greatness. 16 Likes 2 Shares |
