What a shame, nigeria has gone home. Everything keep worsening on daily basis. This country is cursed and bewitched with bad leaders. PDP wasted 16 years looting everything lootable and APC is doing their best to do the final burial of the country .
Well stated. I only pity those still hoping in this failed state.

Stories upon stories. Excuses here and there. So you are subsidising after roundly condemning it and increasing the pump price? By the way, where are the refineries APC promised? Gone with the wind?

I guess the bolded is what we should be asking them, without it, it's always gonna be dejavu, Nothing is going to change.

I know quite well they are 'banking' on Dangote's refinery, but that shouldn't be because that belongs to Dangote and Not Nigeria

Ever since the Independence Nigeria's Leaders haven't gotten it right.

Maybe they should call the white men to take over and rule again for another 60years
It is obvious they were never prepared for the so called independence. All they wanted was to be in charge without any purpose. If the white mistakenly put a ship at the shores of Nigeria for another slave trade even for just 24 hours. Trust me, no one will be left in Nigeria except the politicians & religious leaders. I pity those fighting over PDP or APC. If only they can travel out to see the right and better life the animals in overseas have. They won't be supporting these political thieves.

The people just choose the Christmas period, when Christians and others usually choose to travel to their home towns to relax and merry with loved ones to play economic and political games.

And the incompetent President is unable to resign.

2017 has been a remarkable year for Igbos, it's a year most Nigerians learnt a thing or two they hitherto did not know about this amazing ethnic group. Things like their uncommon bravery, their tendency to bond in unity in times of adversity. Most of all, this year they seem to have won the price for the most misunderstood group in the land. This may not be unconnected with certain collective struggles such as these listed below.
1. Free Evans campaign on the social media. Evans made fame as the billionaire kidnapped in the earlier part of the year, he had taken his trade to an industrial scale seeking over a million dollars from his victims. What shocked my as well as most Nigerians is the bravery (or effrontery) of his kinsmen to demand his immediate release because he is not the only criminal in the land.
2. Ozugbulu massacre. The country woke up to a sad news of mass shooting in the church in the small town of Ozugbulu. The killings were connected to known drug wars that have been raging for months and we're known to have started abroad in their strongholds in South Africa. But their kinsmen decision to rewrite the crime story hinting it was Boko Haram then they ALL agreed it was the federal government who sent soldiers to kill their people on a peaceful Sunday morning. That's bravery.
3. Innosson vs Guaranty Trust Bank: we all know there are flaws in the borrower-lender relationship involving banks and customers and that may not be ruled out in the case between innosson and GTBank but how would one explain an entire tribe of more than thirty million people threatening to close their bank accounts with a bank because the said bank seeks recovery of a loan from a borrower of Igbo extraction. Not forgetting that there is also a forgery case involved.
4. Buhari created fuel scarcity to impoverish Igbos: this one weak me.

As a new year is approaching I hope Igbos would turn a new leaf, eschewing bitterness and the notion that every other Nigerian hates the Igbo people. This collective effort to retrace their steps would be for the overall good of the Igbos because Nigerians do not appear to take Igbo issues with much seriousness.

They'll keep playing with us as long as we allow tribalism and religious beliefs cloud our judgements. These people don't feel the heat we are feeling. Fuel, electricity isn't an issue for them. They don't care what the roads look like because they seldom use it. They have access to good health care and their kids have good education. With all these, Nigerians still won't vote credible people (if there's still any left) because the person is not from their part of the country or because of the person's religious beliefs. When Jonathan was in power, hausas and Yorubas were cursing. Buhari in power, say anything and his fellow northerners will skin you. Hijab wahala today, tithes cries tomorrow. The country is in chaos but come 2019, you'll see Nigerians under the sun again attending their slave masters campaign. So, prepare for more jokes from our leaders because we all have presented ourselves as toys.

GEJ equally expressed regret when it happened during his time but they insisted on occupying Nigeria. So why should we listen to your expression of regret when history just appears to be repeating itself.

First they said subsidy was a scam.....a means the then government iinvented to siphon our money.

Then we voted for them.

They then told us that subsidy exists......and that it gulp a chunk amount from our annual nation budget....that the only solution is total removal which will lead to increase in pump price

we agreed with them

Then they came back telling us that fuel subsidy still exist. That is has increased to #20 and now to #40.70

who is deceiving who. Fuel subsidy nw increased when its already 2018 and 2019 is knocking at the door.

Subsidy actually existed but it was a scam under jona..

If a marketer imported 30,000 for instance, they would register 90,000 liters. So they receive subsidy on 90k liters ..now that is a scam.

From the stmts credited to baru, NNPC is doing the importing at the moment, the marketers have stopped. What this means is that govt is importing and and selling at less than cost price so that marketers can still have the profit margin.

This is better than paying subsidy to marketers on inflated qty of fuel. However NNPC may not be able to meet demand. That's why the scarcity exists.

The solution is to refine locally..ultimately...

This is still very unclear. NNPC claimed they have stock that can last for 90 days when this scarcity started tthree weeks ago and blame it dealers. PENGASSAN and NUPENG came out and said they are not the cause since they were not on strike.
If NNPC is importing fuel and claim to subsidize it and also have enough in stock, why scarcity.
Is the margin given to dealers at the depots not enough to defray the operational cost?
PMB, APC, NNPC are scams and they have turned Nigeria into a huge scam.

Why can't things be done in the right way. What is really in rebuilding our refineries ?.
We are already paying severely yet the pain is still strong like it's now synonymous with us.
Why must everything be all about politics and party ? Why can't these people just be humans. Is it much to ask each government to increase the standard of living of it's citizens who pays her tax to do so. We really need to change things in this nation else, time will come when we will have nothing on our table. What is the cost of importing fuel for 4 years compared to building refineries, what is the cost of equipping our institution for 4years compared to hiring expatriates for 4years.
We have never asked much from our government but each month we are plagued. Only God can give us the right person for this job
