If you put him (Igbo) in a labour camp, within a year he will try to emerge as the headman of that camp - Sadauna See full interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WSosECbcmM |

The man is among those who sowed the seed of discord in this country today. I'm sure his 'rotting' in a special portion of hell. Even in the so called north he claimed to be fighting for he sowed the seed of religious intolerance. No matter how hard the Hausa/Fulani people try to whitewash him his hogwash will always catch up with him. I dislike bigots and fanatics. They nauseate me. 22 Likes |

Re: Sardauna's View Of Igbo: right or wrong? by nku5: 3:10pm On Dec 30, 2017 |
Of course Sardauna is totally wrong. He was just playing ethnic bigot politics like buhari does today Besides is it a bad thing for a labourer to aspire for a greater tomorrow? We can now see the originators of the major setback that affected the north. Their leaders have been holding them back 11 Likes |

Very Very Very right.. Infact super accurate. They came to SW as labourers trying to survive. Now they want to rule over their benefactors. They foolishly call Lagos no man's land as if the traditional ruler is Eze or igwe. Despicable lots. 18 Likes 2 Shares |

Toosure70: That was then.. Now they are on their own in Nigeria. No Yoruba to give them anything again or support anything they want. Gone are those days of daft Yoruba leaders. This is a new age.. fight for what you want yourself. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Totally right. No one has better articulated the mannerisms of a tribe. What the Sardauna said despite being borne out of prevailing realities of that time, has been well exhibited even up till now, such that the Sardauna has come to be regarded as a man of great foresight. Till today, the children of the Igbos are still wailing bitterly that their fathers were not allowed to dominate the North and Azikiwe's failure to dominate in the West, after already dominating a multi-ethnic Eastern region and allocating to themselves all that was up for grabs at the center of the federation. 18 Likes |

Alariiwo: Ibos by themselves reinforce this perception of them. If for example you are eze Ndigbo of Akure and you try to carve out your own fiefdom within the domain of the Deji of Akure some people going to be very very offended. If you call Lagos a no man''s land people are bound to be offended. If you think Yoruba should not be taught and spoken in Yorubaland you will raise eyebrows. Etc, etc. 6 Likes |

Let us be very objective here Sarduana was talking from an experience they had employing the Igbos then - The igbos really abused the privilege given to them by the Northerners and further insulted them. We all know the Igbo culture has no respect for anybody but when you are in another man's land you must learn to adapt to their ways with courtesy - the Igbos have carried their arrogant attitude even far to other countries like Malaysia, Philippines etc and when people react to their ill behaviors they complain people hate them - 5 Likes |

giftq: Ibos can speak their language anywhere they choose to speak it, that is perfectly alright but they have zero right to tell Yoruba not to teach or speak Yoruba in Yorubaland. This type of thinking is what Ahmadu Bello was alluding to. 6 Likes |
