realpoacher:They are suffering from the hangover of the past. My position is simple: the 94 set were not better placed club wise than the current set. They come here and malign this current team. But let's take a look at football generally and we would see that their position is baseless: since 2008 just two players have dominated global football awards: Messi and Ronaldo without any other player sneaking in. But before it wasn't so. What are the other players doing that just this two guys have dominated so completely? The point is that football today is defined more by team player than by individual brilliance. I am not saying our players should not strive for excellence. I am saying it is false to say that the 1994 set were playing in better leagues than this current guys. I am not good with mathematics but I think there's something like the law of averages which proves my point when both sets are compared |

Ndidi can pull a Xhaka for SE. Just needs more shot accuracy. A team where all 11 can score is da bomb. |

Liecester city look like a team who needs an effective goal scorer behind vardy, with all Okazaki work rate he's not so intelligent, had a chance in the dying minuets was supposed to square for a free team mate but took the shot. Nacho needs to match that workrate, he's perfect for that role just not there yet. nacho with insane workrate is mouth watering. besides gray as a second striker imo is not so smart, having three winger behind one striker can't work for all teams, gray and albrigton have an identical style of play, there's no solid finishing threat asides vardy, makes it easier for teams to attack them more with more freedom. 1 Like |

Danielnino00: My pick is Wilfred Onyiye Ndidi. This is due to Ndidi being a regular player for the Super Eagles that qualified for the World Cup. Then keeping a steady shirt in the EPL. 3 Likes |

edi287: I don't if this is good news but Musa made the bench today in the game against Liverpool. Or just a glimmer of hope. However, KC didnt make the bench once again this is not good for KC and not good for the SE. He has to now decide if it looks like he will get any game time and or what other options are available to him. Either way he needs some good goal scoring form to take to the World cup. |

Mujtahida: You go talk one matter then you go change the matter. You go bring Owoh soup add dry fish then call am Banga. Eeee no go work na. I talk one ting you bring your own add to the ting then you say I get bad belle. Did I compare Osimhen to Solanke you did. Then you said because I didnt give the same accolades to Osimhen as I had given to Solanke I am biased and full of hate. But players with totally different dynamics. You made out that the U20 and U17 World cups have the same weighting in quality with negligible difference. That's TOTALLY UNTRUE. That's misrepresentation and muddying the waters to create doubt and mix truth with untruths to present a view birthed entirely by yourself. A view that has nothing to underpin it but misinformation. But back tell me one lie or misrepresentation I made about KC. My views on Osimhen are clear and devoid of sentiment. I reiterate he is a promising youth player who has done nothing in the professional game to warrant call to the SE, when there are many more deserving players. If you call that hate and bias then you have essentially redefined the English language. |

Kog45:And someone says the above list is made up of above average players. If this is not exaggeration just to make a point I don't know what is. So what would teams like Italy then call their team? Heavenly abi? His argument is that the leagues in Belgium and Holland were the top leagues then. But the top leagues today also have Nigerian players. That's why I said the former set were not playing in better leagues than this set. We have players in the EPL, at least one player in France, four or so in Belgium |

komekn:Please Sir stop deliberately misconstruing my point. I never compared Osimhen to Solanke. I only saw the way you were hyping Solanke's u-20 award and pointed it out to you that it's just an u-20 award and that if Osimhen were to do what Solanke did you will turn a blind eye to it. I don't have zest for comparing players. With Kc and Osimhen I am not necessarily saying that what you say about them is wrong. I am saying let up on them. It's too much the consistency with which you criticize them. Don't kill them with your truth(yes even truth can kill that's why the Bible says truth should be spoken in love) Just yesterday that I was on your back critiquing your every post, calling you out unceasingly I am sure some monikers will be like kilode, guy easy on komekn? And I bet you that if continue tracking you with criticisms continously you won't like it. That is the same thing I am saying to you about those boys. And what even makes your criticism offensively personal is the fact that you desire players with uncertain national allegiances to take the place of this players. Players like Solanke or Lookman who are not doing better than Iheanacho. At least goldfish80 has no such axe to grind. My message to you is that no be every time person dey criticize even those who deserve criticism. These boys are down the packing order. Encourage them or at least season your criticisms with encouragements 2 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 7:35pm On Dec 30, 2017 |
Komekn my point is simple: it seems to me you have made criticising Iheanacho and Osimhen your hobby. You never let pass you any opportunity to criticize them. It's so consistent that I no longer see it as criticism but as putdowns. I know other monikers too who criticize Iheanacho but not always. I too have criticised him. But with you it seem like an hobby. 2 Likes |
