@Bkaylore

Here is my honest advise for you. Defer your admission to the next available term. Get your GCMS note and take your time. Be patient and get it right in the next application. You will be doing yourself so much good if you don't show officers any form of desperation.

You are already being questioned on your purpose of visit regarding your proposed program(this is the main issue in your case) and other reasons. I don't want to believe that you want to give officers a good reason to refuse your application again for same reason. Applying immediately without addressing previous refusal reasons and giving the officer reasons why your reapplication should be approved and what you have done differently or a broadened and convincing perspective about your intent will result in same outcome irrespective of what you write.(you will need to know what to even write about in response to the refusal especially concerning purpose of visit).

The actual reason will most likely bother around the fact that the officer was not satisfied that your intention is genuine and also not satisfied that you would leave Canada after your study.

Once you show any form of desperation, it will will jeopardize your chances for a different outcome in your reapplication.

This is my advise. You may choose to do otherwise.

Regards.

If you go first then your wife will apply for an open work permit. Sometimes it called spousal open work permit and as for your child he or she will apply for just TRV if he or she is above 4-5years then they will apply for study permit.

Thank you! God bless

Good morning House,

Yahweh has glorifed his name .I give all glory to GOD that i am here to celebrate with my TRV applicants , hopefuls
and to encourage those who were delayed. I know exactly where i was this same time last year, on my birthday
i received that sad mail that my application was refused due to the reasons :

1. insufficient funds
2. Home ties ,personal assests

Then help came along - I discovered this forum , and read through the relevant contributions from veterans like @maziude, @canadianurse , @Austinpee4 @Osemigho @SURGEE
guys you rock ,thanks for your invaluable insight and help.

For guys that were delayed - dont wait start early order your gcms notes . dont rush to re-apply instead think like the VO and ask yourself all the questions that you think may invalidate your application . Your application needs to be watertight to be eligible. You need to convince the VO to see your application as inalienable . Dont see your application from your eyes alone seek help as early as possible -Prov 15:22 'Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed' .

You don't need any travel experience to get Canadian Visa but if you had applied to any country and got rejected, don't lie about it.

@Lemia pls can i ask if you have paid for the application fee at University of Toronto yet?
I want to know if I am supposed to find a supervisor first before the application fee

Hello Lemia, I want to know if you got a supervisor first and then paid the application fee after

Lemia:
Hi guys, I've been going through this thread for a while now but now I need advice on certain issues.
I'm planning to study by Fall-2018

1. I secured a supervisor at the University of Waterloo to study Systems Design Engineering (masc) and he agreed to fund my studies. I'm a First Class graduate of University of Ibadan. At this stage, what are my chances of getting admission and what must I do to make it happen.

2. I got a professor at the University of Toronto who said he only has funding for top applicants but looking at my profile, I'm clearly a top applicant but his final decision will be based on several things. The question is I have money to apply to only 2 schools. Is it smart to apply to UofT based on this current statement from the supervisor? Considering it's a very competitive school.

If yes, what do I do to ensure I get accepted by him and admitted.
If no I'll have to continue emailing supervisors because I've not gotten any elsewhere and deadlines are fast approaching.

Thanks a bunch for the much anticipated helpful responses.

Yes it is, provided you meet their scholarship requirement...if you're going for UG you can check Carleton University they offer scholarship for their Undergraduate studies to the tune of $20,000.

Peeps, kinda new on here... so abeg make una take am surf free with me oo.
Ive applied for a 4yr undergrad program in Bus admin... my dad who is a pensioner is likely to stand as my sponsor but heres the clichè- The SOA i intend to use is a joint account in both our names, although it is a 'healthy account' with a balance avg of around #6m, do i need to get a co sponsor ?

2 He had a business name registered in 2001 as a sole proprietorship but it hadnt commenced business since then... perhaps i may include the cac in my application but is that advisable without a tax clearance certificate to go along with ? I was told the FIRS only issued tax certs to registered 'companies' & LIRS to employees or business individuals... but my dad is a pensioner whos exempt from paying tax. What do i do ? Please advise smiley

3 can i use the survey plans of our landed properties or do i need a c of o ? Thanks.

For the first part of your question, check your tuition for one year on your school website, convert to naira and add to 10k CAD , convert to naira, How much is left from the 6mil after you pay tuituon for first year and living expenses, How do you intend to sponsor subsequent years since your dad is no longer working.?

Best wishes

You may likely get a co sponsor...

Now for the Tax certificate....is very simple..since he has a registered business certificate...go to firs office around your area....and write an application letter for Tin and Vat certificate...detailing that your business is registered but have not commenced business since 2011 due to some reasons...go with your original CAC certificate....nepa bill...and id card...n do photocopy each and submit within 3days you get your firs tax certificate...that is my area of specializations

Then LIRS...all you need to do you can registered yourself and dad as direct assessment ...just declare yourself..for salary of 400000 per annum for 3 years...2015...2016..2017...and pay 8400 for each year..... to lirs account. And your tax card and revenue receipts wil be available...since you n dad are the owner of the business..if u v long leg...u can get it within 4days also...

If you have any...survey or c of o...u can include it...

It depends on the program you are applying to. Read the admission requirements to know if you are required to secure a supervisor or not before application.

I have already paid more than half of my tuition... When we went to the bank to inquire about my SOA and the reasons why i needed it, the manager told us it was perfect as it was a running account with a "daily" average transaction of 500-700k, and an opening & closing balance of 4-6mil. As he told us the embassies only look out of the history of the account as he had done the same before when he visited Canada. Please let me know if i still need a co sponsor

2 The business name was registered in *2001* not 2011. Chaaiii... that was a long time ago. Please BBclue is there anyway to long leg this tin... it is stressing me out! I just need this for my study reasons alone...
My dad gets funds from real estate sources & through his pension. Isnt that enough reasons he could sponsor me ? You know as naija be now...

3 I was told i would also include members of my family in my application. My brother is currently in south africa on a business visa & my sister has citizenship status in the UK... can i add this information or will it scupper my chances as it may show the visa examiner that i may not return after the duration of my program, which by the way i plan to come back home. I just dont like the UK, should have applied with them instead.

Good afternoon house, I am in a dilemma. I am currently applying for a masters program at the University of Montreal. I have done all the necessary things I have to do but my reference letter is holding me back. My referee is to send the letter to them by post. They have typed the letter but they are saying they haven't sent it because they haven't stamped it. The departmental stamp is in the possession of the department secretary and now that NASU is on strike, they can't get access to the stamp.
Please I would love to ask if it is compulsory to stamp a reference letter after the referee's signature. Will the signature alone not be enough?
Admission application closes in a fortnight and it could take 10 days or more to send my letter to the school by post.
I want to know if I should persuade my referee to just sign the letter, seal it and send it to the school.

I suggest you tell him/her to sign no need of stamp. Then your referee should seal the envelope and sign across the seal of the envelope
