The only sacrifice Jose can make to appeal the fake fans this season is the UCL trophy. That's the only way this season can end with a Mourinho masterclass. Cc: All the real fans |

PietroRico: Bro, practically no United fan wants us to fail just to say i told you so. I was in support until i started seeing signs early this season, i am actually still in support, and don't want him sacked now. The problem is with those that refuse to acknowledge that a problem exists. Having insight is the first step in tackling a problem, and it appears some people here (and probably our manager also) lack it. I have taken an inter-continental flight, then stood from London to Manchester in a train carriage full of inebriated Liverpool fans only for us to lose 0-3 at home. I have been a fan for over 2 decades and attended several games despite never been in England for more than a few weeks at a time. The success of the club is paramount to me, and definitely means more to me than winning a faceless argument with people i will probably never meet. I hope and pray Mourinho proves me wrong and we get back to not only winning ways but exciting fotball. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

From what I saw yesterday, Utd team is split into 2 parts. In the 4-2-3-1, the distance between the 4-2 and the 3-1 is too great, and there is no cohesion between those 2 halves of the team. It is everything I hate about 4-2-3-1, and we saw these chasms between attack and defence when Jose implemented this system at Chelsea. The team did not move as one unit. It was basically get the ball to the front 4, they lose it, and then the back 6 are being counterattacked. And repeat cycle. The whole team needs to move 10 yards further up the pitch to establish proper build-up between the back 6 and the front 4. Fullbacks should be allowed to join the attack, likewise the top 4 need to get involved in the build-up play. It is a feature of a Juan Mata midfield to see this big chasm of space between the 2 base midfielders and the AM. We had that at Chelsea for years. That's a tactical instability that comes with Juan Mata. He should be able to join the midfield 3 and involve himself in build-up play that will allow the rest of the team move 10 yards up the pitch. This is why I prefer 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1. Mourinho has never mastered the 4-2-3-1 formation, and I don't see why he is insistent on playing it instead of the 4-3-3 that brought him the most success. 3 Likes |

There is no where utd would sack Mou cos the payout is very big & the club will lose big @ 2 fronts...I need Aubumeyang, he is a classic finisher. We need a solid CM to go with 2 new L & R wingers. We need another solid DM cos Matic can't do everything. We also need @least if not 2 then 1 CB & make sure De gea ain't leaving or loses interest @ utd. Mou's season ends next season & after him comes Ancelotti |

Ibime: bro you really have valid points but I disagree with your last paragraph.. mou used the formation to succed at inter and also at Madrid..using an effective no 10 in that same setup,I personally think that ozil revolutionised the modern day no 10,that's y I don't think there can ever b a better no 10 in that 4231 like ozil,at least for the time being... now all these balls down to personnel being available,to properly utilise d 4231 position, your no 10 has to have that positional and spatial awareness, intelligent movement and of course good pass accuracy and decision making..nd ozil ticked all those boxes, that's y mou never really bothered him to track back cos he knew his potency in attack...but in the end I think that's what confused mou, thinking every other no 10 can b like ozil.. and yes I agree with your final point about him needing to switch to a 433 |

Ibime:personnel bro. Herrera has a few loose screws, carrick was offered a free one year extension to come stay on the hospital bed, Fellaini is injured and mctominwa isn't all that. . Matic and Pogba are our only 2 Sane midfield choices right now |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Ibime(m): 11:37am On Dec 31, 2017 |
dubylhover: Good point, but Sneijder was never a no 10 in the sense of Ozil and Mata. He was one of a 3 man midfield, robust enough to get involved in the heart of midfield. It was Ozil experience at RM that changed JM, and he seems to have lost his tactical ethos since then. The fact teams sat back for fear of Ronaldo allowing Real midfield to come closer to each other in the attack is not proof that he can make the 4-2-3-1 work efficiently. |

PietroRico: True, he needs a 2nd Pogba, another B2B because all I'm seeing right now is no triangle for the midfield to build up play with. For Matic or Pogba to find Mata these days, they have to launch a 40 yard pass upfield. No cohesion at all between the 2 halves of the team. |

Let me make my stance clear, I'm no Mourinho hater. I don't want him sacked, if I'd written such in the past it's outta anger after a frustrating match. I prefer the United under Mourinho than that of Gaal or Nwoyes. I still want the club to support him financially so he won't blame them if he doesn't deliver next season. He shouldn't be given a new contract till the team have improved. But, Mourinho should've gotten us playing better than we're currently playing if he knows what he's doing. How we play will determine how far we'll go in the long run. We've no identity, no plan, no tactics. Nothing. We're everywhere on the pitch but still nowhere. Liverpool has an attacking identity, apart from City, no team in the EPL attacks more than them. The lack of good defenders is their major problem. But with United, you'll be confused on what we're actually playing. We don't defend greatly, we don't attack greatly. So what's Mourinho teaching these lads in training? I want a good digger to dig up my post before last season, I said my objectives for Mourinho was 1. Get us back into UCL. 2. Make us to play good exciting football that's sorely lacking under LvG. I never ever demanded the league title from him instantly because I knew this team needed upgrades, but I wanted him to bring a good playing style for us because I'm a firm believer that how you play determines how far we'll go in a season or even in future. Last season beginning , Chelsea were struggling, after losing twice, Conte changed tactics, a tactic that paid off and he stuck with it through out. Lack of continental matches and the fact that his squad were always fresh helped him, but it's a change of tactic, a winning tactic that catalysed that success. But for a Mourinho, a season and half gone and NO SINGLE TACTIC to win matches from him. He keeps experimenting with formations and players, he's yet to know what works for the team. Young has played a RB, LB, winger. Rashford has played as a LW, RW and even CF. Martial almost the same. Mhikitaryan has been used as an AM, RW, LW, Mourinho has not gotten a solution. Darmian has played both LB and RB. Blind, both CB and LB. There is so much confusion in the squad. Pogba nko? If he's to praised when we win, why can't we blame him when we lose as well? Man City have a better squad than us, have over the years acquired better players than us, but THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US AND THEM IS GUARDIOLA AND HIS WORKING FORMULA. Anybody saying otherwise is delusional. Stones was great, he got injured and Kompany entered, the winning run continued. Kompany went out injured, Mangala slotted in effortlessly, the winning run continued. Mendy injured, Delph takes over, the winning run is safe. Same for Jesus and Aguero. Guandogan, Bernado Silva have slotted in when called upon and the winning is non-stop. So injury or no injury, THE PLAYING PATTERN STAYS THE SAME. That tactic is the main reason they're good coz no matter who plays, he plays the Guardiola way. It's been ingrained in them. This man has the best winning runs in Spain, Germany and England. It's no coincidence. It's not a fluke. He brings his tactics, get players that adapts to it and wins with it. Mourinho needs a working formula. For now he has none. His excuse is about finance. Pep has spent more than him by 74.8 million pounds. That money in the hands of Mourinho will get maybe a Van Dijk and still the problem is not solved. He can spend all he wants, but if he doesn't find a way to make his signings work, it'll be a waste of money. Last season, both Mourinho and Pep didn't have a great EPL season. Pep analysed his team and spent huge money to get THE RIGHT PLAYERS IN POSITIONS HE WANTED BOLSTERED. HE DIDN'T GET ALL HIS TARGETS. Mourinho also analysed his and deemed just 4 positions worthy of bolstering. To the best of our PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, he didn't request for 6 additions and got 3. Unless he wanted more and Ed promised him just 4, then I can't blame Ed. Most of us pointed out we needed a LB, 2 CBs (to partner Bailly since Rojo was injured, Smalling mediocre, and Jones injury prone), RW, DM, CF to replace Ibra and an AM/SS like Griezmann. With all these glaring defences, Mourinho said we needed just 4 players. But midway into the new season, he's realised what we saw since last season. My questions are was he blind all this while not to have noticed we needed more than 4 additions? Didn't he know Ibra was old and finished when he's giving him a new contract at 36 years with an ACL injury? I was among those that wanted him out by all means even if it's through injury. If he knew Shaw wasn't up to the quality LB he wanted, why go into the season with Young and Darmian as a LB? Why didn't he task Ed for a new LB? Is he suffering from amnesia? You needed a LW but kept quiet pursuing Perisic all through and only started flirting with Bale before the season started and with no hope of signing him? Why are you still blaming Ed? Why can't Mourinho for once accept he's at fault for not requesting for more? He openly said he wanted only 4. So how's Ed to be blamed? I'm at lost as to why Mourinho is realising he needs more. He'd accept his L in peace and find a way to turn things around. I still believe in him, but firstly he needs to accept that things are not going well and his players are playing rubbish. Only when he accepts that, looks deep into finding a solution will he be able to turn things around. Talking about other clubs will not save him. He'd concentrate on his club. 2 Likes |
