@bolded is a false information because Rashidi Yekini was the 5 highest goal scorer in the Portuguese league with 12 or 15 goals in 1990/1991 season. Meaning he didn't join Setubal when dey were in division 2 though it was relegated the same season.

He was the highest goal scorer in the second division for two seasons before he went to division 1 to prove that his performance in division 2 were no flukes by becoming the highest goal scorer there. After that, he left for Olympiacos for the 1994/1995 season.

Meaning he played two seasons in the Portuguese league. Besides, Rashidi was already the top goal scorer in Afcon 1990, top goal scorer in the best leagues in Africa at that time before he went to Setubal.

It is just like Mikel Obi and Ighalo going to China.

Moreover, Ikpeba was the best African player in Belgium 1993 after scoring 17 league goals and after he helped his club to win the Belgium cup in 1990. This was what propelled him to the second

Our focus should be on the current crop of SE players, how they can improve individually and as a team

To the naysayers, I say this; these guys would lit up their opponents at the world cup

I just have this feeling that Nigeria and Iceland may just clinch the second round ticket from their group

On a side note

1. Ndidi tried a magnificent long range effort in the game against Liverpool and I believe if he continues to work on his scoring in training and take more risks, he may become unstoppable

2. It wouldn't be a bad idea for Moses to start set-piece training. He needs to add that ability to his game. Also, his crossing needs to improve

3. I haven't lost faith in Musa and i think a loan or permanent transfer would do him a world of good. No be bench we want for SE

It is very easy to say France because PSG and Monaco dominated this era in the French and even in Europe while Anderlecht and C. Brugge dominated in Belgium and in Europe in that era. And the both were/are rated within the top 5 - 6 leagues in Europe if we compare then and now.

Anderlecht and C. Brugge were even better than the current PSG and Monaco of today.

Having said that, can we say Mbbape is an average player?

If not, then how can you say Victor Ikpeba, Daniel Amokachi and Chidi Nwanu were average players?

Victor Ikpeba won the Ebonyi award in the Belgian league which was among the top 5 in Europe in 1993 before he moved up the ladder to the top 3 leagues and one of the best clubs in Europe.

Daniel Amokachi also won the Ebony award and the best foreigner award in Belgium twice and came third btw 1992- 1994. Don't forget that Club Brugge reached the UEFA champions league finals not too long and the semi finals of cup winners cup in 92. They were just like the Monaco of today and that was the club he played for prior to the WC.

Chidi Nwanu was played for Anderlecht prior to the WC and he was the Silver winner of the Ebony award after he came second behind Ikpeba while Daniel Amokachi was third in 1993. Don't forget that Anderlecht was in the finals of cup winners cup in 90 and reached the quarter finals of UEFA cup. They were among the best of course.

I chose not to meddle in the banter or should i say debate about which team is the better between the current Super Eagles and the 94 set. Truth of the matter is there is no basis for comparison between the two teams. I wont even take it any further. Mujtahida and Icons4s have already done justice to that somehow.

What i wanna talk about is the issue belief in the current crop of players. Lets show some respect and a measure of faith in this current team. While over a half of the team may not be playing for the Barcelonas, Madrids, Bayerns, Monacos, PSGs, etc, truth is they got the job done. How will the world take note if they didnt even get to qualify? How will their stocks rise and how will they get beta opportunities if they dont play as a unit for one another? All we have working for us is the UNiTY and hardwork. Lets wait for its fruition. Lets not be like some farmer who planted maize and wanted it mature 3days later.

I hear all manner of arguments like "yo, the world cup aint for babies...." question is where were the grown ass men when the babies were doin it? I also hear stuff like backwater leagues. We all know at the end of it all, brazil isnt gonna parade PSG team neither is Argentina gona parade Barcelona team at the world cup. In other words, leagues dont play world cup, teams do. Individual quality can only do soo much but also, in the face of an equally determined team, they can lose to luck or better tactics. So all the talk of "Oh that boy too young, he aint gonna cut it. ... oh yeah he gonna melt at the world cup.." frankly dont fly. This is what we have on ground. Yeah .... this is us getting it right 1year to a world cup. What did yall expect? Magic? Teamwork is the tonic at the moment, unity the vitamins in this current team. Living up to Responsibilty on the part of the NFF for the first time is the air the team is breathing. Who could hurriedly forget what transpired at the Olympics when the dream team got dumped in America? So for the first time in donkey years , we are approaching things with a different philosophy entirely.

What else again? The english borns? Nah.... I aint doin that. Cos i will be reckless when it comes to that.

Final thoughts, world cup is just 6months away. Pray for no injuries to the players lucky enough to be in the team now. Pray for great execution of plans and tactics. Pray for the brothers to remain united. More than anything, pray for a successful campaign at the world cup. We have done the best we could at this time. It is time to go to WAR !!!
