Hello folks....I'm a little bit confused. It has been said here times without number that Princeton review is good for verbal and quant strategies.....
I have 2 textbooks of Princeton review (cracking the GRE and 1,014 practice questions).
which one is applicable to verbal? and
which one is applicable to quant strategies?

The practice questions has a good collection of standard verbal GRE questions, the quant is okay too but I would recommend the Manhattan 8 series for salient quant strategies. Try and get the Magoosh videos too, the explanations in both verbal and quant would go a long way to improve your pace, accuracy and elimination strategies, important GRE traits. Good luck with your prep.

It's quite easy to ace. What worked for me though was the classes at B.Y Mafit. I attended the classes and used that as a baseline for further studies. As I was not a mathematics pro, I just religiously followed and built on that.

If you are in Lagos or Abuja, I suggest you attend the classes even if you are doing personal study. B.Y Mafit is the only organization in Nigeria as of now that offers free class based lectures for tbe TOEFL and GRE and as I said earlier, it's the best. Trust me.

The major challenge though may be time but you can check out their weekend lectures as well.

If you can't make it for either then make the best use of the materials given. They give you free Kaplan textbook, free magoosh access and other aids in addition to the free lectures.

Thanks so much for your prompt response and am sorry my response has been late. I think I was blocked for a while, although I don't understand why...

Concerning the bolded have been doing lots of google search and must Universities I saw except for IUP and an African American private university base their focus more in chemistry than industrial chemistry which is why I decided to delve into ChemE because of the larger option I can get there also I have serious interest in renewable energy and catalysis.

Am a fan of learning new things ever day though as I believe additional knowledge on a thing expands options rather than being restricted to the science field I feel additional knowledge in Engineering would be of great advantage, besides i love math's sometimes....

Concerning the others you mentioned am seriously praying and working towards them cause nothing is impossible and my recommenders are ready at anytime though I didn't go for any of the profs in my field cause I know how busy they could be.

chemical engineering is not about chemistry is about mathematics for solving, analysing complex designs equations and t design of complex systems.
Back in uniben, we called some of the course formula engineering. courses such as mass transfer,the backbone of chemeng- chemical rxn engineering,seperations techniques were all full of calculations and formulas. why I took time to enlighten you is to let u know that some of the courses you will do in Ms will not be different or may require you to have prerequisites knowledge.

especially for chemical rxn engineering-we did it five times..we almost finished the whole textbook.
my suggestion is that first do a pgd in Nigeria or look for schools that will have foundational Classes for u before u start your Ms.

I think this post has been sufficiently dealt with. I would just like to add though that it is not uncommon for people to switch from Chemistry/Industrial chemistry to Chemical Engineering. It's great that you have identified the schools to which you'd like to apply. All you have to do is check what the prerequisite course requirements are for those without undergraduate degrees in Chem Engg. (it's usually stated on the department's application page). You could also ask the graduate coordinators directly.
Usually, you need to have done some calculus courses and probably some basic ChE courses like chemical thermodynamics. I'm not quite sure it's necessary to obtain prerequisites by doing a pgd, check with the schools first.
Get the necessary info from the schools you have chosen, prepare well for your GRE and package your application well.

PS- Most core chemical engineering grad courses are Math-heavy (Usually intermediate-level Maths, which is not too difficult if you have some calculus background)
A lot of research in ChE is chemistry-heavy, so you would be right at home in that regard.

Hello guys, i have been preparing for the GRE.
The Verbal reasoning has been time demanding and i really need to write the exam ASAP AS PER THE VOCABULARIES are sumtin else.

I just want to ask if the GMAT is easier as per verbal reasoning?

BTW I dont have any issue with Quantitative reasoning.

I am not an expert but from what I have understood, if you prepare well, the computer based test will favour you. The paper based test questions are cast in stone and therefore not section adaptive unlike the computer based test. Please take the computer based test. All you need to do is to do a lot of practice tests i.e. Powerprep online,Manhattan,Kaplan etc. You will get used to the timing and format and you will score better.
