Liquid2Metal: 1. Accept job offer like others have said. 2. Join express entry. With it, your wife and children can enter and stay while you return to Nigeria after soft landing. 3. Dreams are different but I can tell you that managers in banks and other top Nigerian organizations like PWC and KPMG are immigrating to Canada. It is a matter of choice but be wise about yours. |

Happy new year everyone. My advise to all admission seekers and potential student visa applicant is to read on Canada express entry if you are sure that you would like to stay in Canada after study. https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled 2017 was great by God's grace, but 2018 would be greater. It will end with praises. 9 Likes |

My People, How Una dey. On the 1st of January 2018, 10:55 Pm i left Lagos to Toronto via Amsterdam.....This is my story. After getting my visa, flights plans started. i'm a frequent flyer with virgin and emirates, but those two airlines have decided to be goats and not fly to Pearson International in Toronto, so after reading comments about Ethopian, Egypt, air maroc e.t.c....i realised they were all nice airlines to fly with HOWEVER. when an issues arises, as with a number of international flights, their lack in class and professionalism shows, so i decided to use a tier 1 airline. I was left with one of Delta, Airfrance-KLM, Turkish Airlines, British Airways and Arik . After a lot of research and analysis, i decided to use Airfrance-Klm due to the fact that they had a partnership with Delta, Delta had with Virgin so it made more sense when i needed to transfer Miles and all that ....ooh and it was the cheapest too. Jan 1 was the cheapest day in the first 2 weeks of the New Year, so i decided to go with that, since i wanted to spent the new year with my family and the flight was at night. Perfect. I got to the Lagos airport at 7pm, after all the harassment of "do something for boys" i got to the gate safely. We boarded quite early (9pm) and 10 50 Pm the plane took off. It was a beautiful flight. No crying children, i got an extra leg-room seat, the food was yummy, the pilots landing was one of the best i had felt. Got into Amsterdam 30 Mins early and i had this long wait of 8 hours for my flight to toronto. i decided to book one that was far away, just in case my departure from lagos was delayed or whatever. The 8 hours went by so fast from visiting the museum in the airport, watching a few planes land and take-off, watching a couple of LGBT couples and imagining what my parents would say, Getting a new hand luggage since my current ones got bad while pulling (so painful as i had to waste money on something not planned for), and talking with friends and family through whatsapp call. When it was time to board, i was "shook" KLM gave Nigerians a very new and beautiful plane with an awesome cabin crew, and this plane was so old i was surprised it could still take off. Though the staff made it worthwhile and fun to fly....and the food..oh my!....AWESOME! (If you are a food lover, Please fly Airfrance-KLM...NO JOKES) Ice cream, wafles, rice and beans with chicken, cinammon rolls.= and so much more, really great....oh if youre wondering, Yes it was economy. Landed in toronto, the queue wasn't long. My timbalands decided the cold was too much and gave up, luckily i had a spare pair of shoes in my hand luggage (Pls try to keep a spare change of clothing and shoes in your hand luggage, in case your box is missing and other emergencies). i got to the officer. he was so nice, he saw a Manutd bracelet on my hand and we spoke for a while about Lukaku being useless LOL. he asked if i had dairy or whatever, i said No, he said good and directed me to get my study permit. That lady wasnt fun at all!...she didnt even laugh at any joke i made, i sha took my study permit, then was directed to get my SIN. The lady there was a fun, kind woman. i spent like 20 mins just talking about how lovely Nigeria was, what my Yoruba name meant, about my family, she spoke about her family too and after leaving her o whispered to myself "welcome home". Due to the time spent already getting my luggage was a breeze, i got outside, my school driver was waiting to pick me, and off i went. i got to the school residence, they werent expecting me to the 4th due to a mis understanding in the emails exchanged (very sad!!...Please ensure your arrival plans are water-tight!!!) had to spend over $150 for a night in a hotel close-by, Next morning took an uber to a friends house where ill be spending two nights (on second thoughts, should have just come here directly after arrival....for those who love their space like me and hate to make others uncomfortable, swallow your pride, go spend a couple nights with someone you know if you know someone...its better to find your feet with the help of a local) got my sim(FIDO) got a bank account (TD)..going to open another with Scotia bank( THEY GIVE FREE MOVIES!!! LOL) and i'm just enjoying the food and the scenery As for the cold, if you've been to Newyork and the likes....its basically the same, Its a bit over-rated...however someone said the weather has been great and it was worse a few days back, so, i'm still thankful....HOWEVER!!!...Temperature is different from WIND!....Its like Sahara desert Wind in sub zero temperatures.....so please don't buy scarfs and gloves in Nigeria or Europe. they have scarfs and gloves here suited for their weather which makes it pleasurable to go out, because if you buy sub standard "wind protectors" one of two things will happen...youll throw that away and buy another here which is more expensive or going out becomes a punishment. Sorry for the long post 31 Likes |

Hello house, Pls advice me on this My Dad asked me not to include my Step Siblings in the Family form that i should jst put, N/A, as in i am the only Child. Though the truth is, My parents are divorced and my Dad is a UK base living with my step mother and 3kids. So i was thinking, wouldn't this people (VOs) later find out about the truth? Coz you know, i will surly upload his Int'l Passport's data page, And i am thinking they might use the info on it to run a background check on him. He said, i should not include my steps siblings coz, it might leads to too much questions like it happened 13-15 years ago on the UK Visa he tried to get 4 me but couldn't and he wasn't even sure if it was a denial or not. And again, on the Visa denial section on my Visa application, should i say yes that i have been denied Uk Visa before or No cause, like i mentioned above that Dad said is was 13-15yrs ago (during my JSS level) and wasn't sure if it was a denial of not but wasn't given then cause they required more info and he said he thinks, they may not hold the record for that long. So pls guys, what's your opinion on this? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Bright9412: 1:05pm On Jan 04, 2018 |
Themechanic: Processing times vary but you should get it within one week. I don’t know if you got my question earlier about personal asset. I don’t have one, will landed properties of my parents work for that? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Bright9412: 1:10pm On Jan 04, 2018 |
Sleemzy13: I don’t think they will run a background check on your dad’s profile. People have applied without their parent’s ID and still got approved. On the visa denial section, I think you should mention that you were denied because if the embassy request for more info within a set time-frame and you don’t meet up with the deadline, they will reject your application. |

Good afternoon bosses, pls I would be applying for my masters this year as I just recently graduated (November 2017). Is the NYSC certificate a necessary document in the travel visa process as my parents aren't interested in me completing the NYSC process. Am applying for fall 2018 admission. Would also love to know how long it takes to get a student visa and it's level of difficulty especially for someone who doesn't have any travel history. Thanks and God bless..Happy new year to everyone |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by blessedmumi(f): 4:20pm On Jan 04, 2018 |
maygreaves: Thanks for your guideline...I was actually misinformed by those travel agents. They told us that we need to share same surname for the VO to be convinced that we are related (my uncle called two different travel agents in my presence). I asked dis same particular question u mentioned about those that have relatives from different country...the issue has been clarified now & we are on to the next stage. |

WHAT IS THE IMPLICATION OF SPONSOR PAYING THE TUITION AND LIVING EXPENSES TO THE APPLICANTS ACCOUNT FEW DAYS TO SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Sleemzy13(m): 5:43pm On Jan 04, 2018 |
Bright9412: Thanks Bro, for your reply There is this other issue, on the Visa form, there is a part where a question is asked about TB disease if the applicant has it or any relative close to the applicant. I don't know if i should tick Yes or No, though i have the TB and i don't cough but only my Blood test shows positive and i have been on 9months Treatment with injections which i started May last year and would end it by Feb 2nd. So, i am confused cause, i am thinking if i tick Yes, the VO might refused me Visa without even being called for Medicals first or should i just say No and let the Medical result judge? Since i have already been treated.. Pls guys, what is ur opinion? Cause i heard the VOs like applicants who are sincere |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Nobody: 6:01pm On Jan 04, 2018 |
Sleemzy13: Finish your treatment and get tested before you apply. Or go ahead and apply but tick YES. If you tick NO and your medical report says YES, you are done! TB wont stop you from getting a visa as long as you explain to the VO the medical arrangements you have made in Canada to take care of yourself. |

Hello house, pls I’m planning to do my masters in Canada, I would like to find out if I would get admission in any Canadian university because I finished with a second class lower. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Sleemzy13(m): 6:55pm On Jan 04, 2018 |
Slik07: Thanks Bro So, you mean after i have been treated, i still need to explain to the VO about making a medical arrangements in Canada to take care of myself which i haven't. Since that is your advice for me, i will go for it then but pls, i will need you to put me through on how to go about that (the medical arrangements) cause, i am a novice in this traveling stuff.. Pls help bro cause, i dnt wanna make any mistake that will lead to refusal ... Perhaps i should mail you? |

Hello NL, i really need more info on proof of fund/sponsorship matter. The truth is that i have saved up for my tuition fee, which i am to pay to the canadian school soon. I still need proof of funds/sponsor for study VISA purposes and seems like it should be father/mother/sibling/uncle/aunty/ or inlaw. I don't have any of my immediate or extended family financially capable of being my sponsor, but i have another sponsor (a non-family member) who is willing to stand as my sponsor and show POF for my other student expenses. Has anyone been in this kind of situation before? How did you handle it? Was it enough "financially" to be granted the study permit? Meanwhile, Do i need to transfer my tuition fee (that i have already saved up personally) to my non-family sponsor to pay to the school on my behalf? or pay directly to the school myself? Does it have any effect on the visa application process? Please HELP!!! |

Hello. Please I really need your help. I intend starting my application. Please I wouldn't mind a school where I can get some sort of funding whatsoever. I have a Bsc In Business Admin (1st class) Can you forward me the name of your school to see if I can give it a trial? I also sent you a pm. I'll be glad if you can respond. Thanks. Themechanic: |
