Gptech:It dropped into a bucket of water 2 months ago with a cracked screen which led to a black/blank screen so I just packed it after drying it in uncooked rice as you guys advised bank then. I later patiently waited for the replacement screen and when it eventually came, " fixing it, I realised People couldn't hear me when I make calls. I took it back to the engineer who fixed the screen but after tinkering with it for a day, he returned it saying he had fine all he could and I had resolved to either order for a new mouthpiece or sell the phone off but unfortunately for me, I tested it again yesterday night, first with a hands-free and then without love, and it started working fine |

help me! i was listening to music with my redmi note 4x when i had call, i removed the earpiece to answer the call nd i noticed some small tiny metal came out with the earpiece pin, but i couldn't hear what the caller was saying. As of right now, ever since it happened yesterday I've been having issues with my redmi note 4x reciever no sound just deaf mute. I've gone through various diagnosis both rebooting, resetting, flashing nd i even ran the CIT hardware test nd it failed. As i dey now this thing just dey scatter my head anyhow, my phone rooted nd flashed with MIUIPRO ROM. right now i dont know what to do, should i contact the seller? . cc: Gptech Grandmufti noobody ebubemg my mind ain't straight right now to type everyones moniker in the house. epp me here is the metal fragment.

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by GrandMufti: 12:54pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Mckandre: The metal in headphone jack came out or the earphone itself broke inside. And why do you want to contact the seller? Na him do you? Take the phone to a repair man to check it |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by jboy01(m): 12:56pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
iliyande:which shipping method did they use? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by iliyande(m): 12:57pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
jboy01: SingaporePost, Bros just go ahead, who knows, yours may be different case. Goodluck |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 1:03pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Mckandre:Sorry bro, but you can't blame seller for that, it's either earpiece is substandard or the 3.5mm port was a disaster waiting to happen. Let me use this medium to ask which particular earpiece you use. I believe you'll need to order for a new port or speaker, or both. |

GrandMufti:the metal inside the earphone jack port came out with the earphone pin and i just noticed now it has also affected the speaker, i cant even listen to music again without an earphone. just saying since its still under warranty. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Mckandre(m): 1:14pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Gptech:both?
|
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 1:16pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Mckandre:Since you said you can listen to music via earpiece, then only the speaker is affected. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Mckandre(m): 1:19pm On Jan 05, 2018 |
Gptech:right now its the receiver nd the speaker, honestly i dont know how xiaomi could place such delicate component in the most frequently used port in the phone. |

This year should be interesting as regards pricing, the price of the Nokia 6 2018 makes the Redmi 5 plus looks abit expensive in Xiaomi's standard. The only way now is price cut, and if there will ever be a Redmi note 5, it can't afford to use less than the Snapdragon 630, and must be priced lower than the Nokia 6. Can't wait for the price drop to begin, make I go climb tree dey observe . |
