We need our best legs which include Musa and Nacho. Unfortunately they both ain't playing right now which shows they're not good enough. If that situation do not change before the mundial, it's best they join us as we watch from Naija but the truth still remains, do we have alternatives?
Even those playing are mediocre at best. Our squad isn't just good enough but with the team spirit that got us to Russia still intact, we may still spring some surprises with the players we have.

Are you talking about the same Super Eagles that just thrashed the 3 time world champions Argentina, 4:2?

Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing on Nairaland.
Re: 2018 World Cup: Why Musa, Iheanacho May Not Make My Squad – Rohr by BluntBoy(m): 5:31am On Jan 10, 2018
Iheanacho should look for a small team. He should look beyond earnings, at least, for some time. He earns 40 million naira per week in Leicester but he is not developing as a footballer. Life is about making sacrifices. He could earn less and develop into a star player in two seasons. Wilfred Zaha comes to mind. He is Crystal Palace star player but when he was transferred to Man Utd, he couldn't shine and had to run back to Crystal Palace where he is regarded as king.

so, you have not confirmed it? But there is a move? The same way Etebo is moving to Porto abi?

So, Kelechi is not a reliable striker for us again? Or has he failed you in the Super Eagles recently?

Anyway, there is still Southampton interest and the fans want him. Read it up

PS: We do not have capable replacement for Kelechi
Haha are Kingsley Eduwo (Lobi Stars), Junior Ajayi(Ah Ahly) bad players

no be Nwakaeme play 75 minutes against Algeria wey Nigerians wan sacrifice am? Even Rohr fear to play the guy against Argentina sef undecided
I agree wit rohr assertion...
sometimes words like this are needed to spur and motivate these lads...

though he may not drop them...but it will go a long way to instil fear and the need to make drastic moves to work on their football carers....

some may get too complacent and that's not good for our football....
imagine Harris...of agent refusing musa move to Turkey...I believe he did that...reason because he is so sure musa will make the world cup list....

In the case of Kelechi Iheanacho, he most definitely needs to reaccess and reinvigorate himself.
I dont think this is the standards he was setting for himself when he put himself to the limelight in UAE, 2014.
If he cannot get into the starting lineup ahead of Okazaki, then he needs to have a rethink of himself.

When we said Nacho's move to Mancity was as grave as a posting to Afghanistan people kicked. Fast forward two years and see the beginning of the end of a once promising career. If he had gone to the continent and to the so called second tier countries such as Belgium, Holland or Portugal, chances are that he will be playing regularly in a league that suits his moderate pace and style and can build his technique to suit bigger and better leagues. The premiership is for mid age finished foreign imports who have a great resume and plenty of hot air behind them. By the time Kanu came to Arsenal he wad already a Champions league winner with Ajax. Same as Finidi before heading to Spain. But see Amuneke. Africa and straight to Barca and puff within a blink of an eye.

You said it all!

History will remember that he gained and lost form in Mancity.

It was a bad decision in his career.

i hope he has a better replacement for them. We have players no doubt but i hope they have not started their political game with Rohr
I will only advise you to be careful because when statement likr this is made it means two things
1- To make the players sit up
2- Money is changing hands somewhere

There's MORE THAN ENOUGH space for Iheanacho and Musa in our 32 Man WC list irrespective of them getting playing time in their respective clubside or not.

He could have simply said the duo MIGHT not feature in games or be a regular starter in the WORLD CUP.

Bullsheet at the end.
Stop the misinformation, World Cup team is made up of 22 player and not 32. Every coach takes only players playing regularly for their respective team to the world cup so that they have a team that is psychological ready to play. The duo do not deserve to go the world cup ahead of players playing regularly for their teams. We do not need players living on past glory

so you will take just one CF to Russia? And not even a potent one, how many goals does Ighalo have for Nigeria?

Kelechi had two assists and a goal in our last game. You will drop him, but you will take Ighalo that has on and off day?

Is this supposed to be a joke? undecided

My dear every good coach knows there's no sentiments in selection. If u don't play regularly in ur club, u had not make d World Cup list. We are 200million in Dis country 4 fvcks sake getting a replacement shouldn't be an issue. There are numerous Nigerian players in leagues all over Europe playing regularly and we'll. A fit player is 10 times better Dan a former legend. Echiejile, iheanacho, musa shd not make d list if dey don't play. Why do u think European players move to clubs for more playing time, so dey can make World Cup squad.

being good for your club does not translate to being good for your country and vice versa. It is folly to assume that because this player is doing well for his club, it means he will do well for country.

We have tried these local players multiple times in the past and they turned out to be flash in the pan players. Do yoi remember how many of them Keshi took to Brazil in 2014 and what happened to them?

If it was last year, we could have tried them, but at this point, there is no space for trial and error. Kayode and Nwakaeme were doing great for their clubs, but cow to National team, how far? Neither of them have managed to seal a place after having multiple invites.

We have also had one hit wonders like Oduamadi and Ogbeche that flattered to deceive. They have one good game and you think we have capable replacements, only to take them to the World Cup and discover how shambolic they are.

I don't understand why Nigerians find it hard to learn from past experiences.

We took an experienced Yakubu Aiyegbeni to the World Cup, what happened. The history was good, that he was our best striker by the records but the geography was bad as he couldn't plot the direct route to goal from two yards. My friend, form is everything.

Speaking about form: ARE YOU SAYING IHEANACHO IS IN FORM? Leicester isn't featuring so obviously he's not in form unlike Iwobi and Ighalo who are having some playing time.

I'm not against the coach taking Kelechi to world cup; he should work on himself before then, Otherwise he won't like the way he would be benched.
