signature2012: You must have a very good job. The rent is way way over. KELVIN086:The roads are good so nothing scares me... A 3 hour drive feels like nothing and there are multiple 'Rest Areas' having parking spots, restrooms, vending machines and fellow drivers that stop to take a break. There were 5 or 6 Rest Areas over the stretch of the road I did - I rested twice and bought gas twice. So I had enough opportunity to rest n stretch my body. My friend in Cali does regular 12hour trips. + I trust myself and my keke so I am good to go. 13 Likes |

My morale is low... It can happen to anyone, nothing serious - I am just feeling lazy. This semester is slowly edging towards full speed - the 10th of January was the new graduate students orientation for Spring 2018. I was informed that they had in attendance about 1/3 of the number of those that enrolled for Fall 2017 semester. About 8 Nigerians graduate students in a all, majorly in engineering majors - we were up to double that number in my time. Truly, Spring has less enrollment. I have met 3 of them so far; one was specifically searching for me, he brought special thanks from home saying I motivated him to apply for a masters in the US. The move to a foreign land for better opportunities will surely pay us all. 48 Likes |

Insurance for this semester is cut throat - Spring and Summer together = $1,360. Kai! I nor fit breath! Fall 2017 was about $7,700 out-of-state tuition. ..............and about $2,950 in-state tuition. Spring 2018 is about $8,250 out-of-state tuition. ..............and about $3,450 in-state tuition. The values above are what is to be paid for each tuition category per semester (9 credit hours or 3 courses). An approximate $500 difference between each semester (for each category) stems from the increased insurance fee. Total waivers are about $4200 (tuition waiver) and $500 graduate scholarship ($1,000 total split into 2 semesters). Free money is good, package your application properly and you can stand a chance. 12 Likes 4 Shares |

MackyNaija:Possibly due to the low number of student enrollment in Spring, there is less pressure on housing and the school gives these out to entice people to choose here. The 3 individuals I have met where all offered in-state tution payment and free school accommodation - this saves them a whole lot of money. The only downside of the Spring admission I have seen is that the part tuition waiver is only valid for only Spring and Summer. That of Fall semester is valid for Fall, Spring and Summer + no one I know of was given hostel accommodation for Fall. All these freebies are strictly tied to the masters thesis option. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

MackyNaija: My understanding is that even if you miss the waiver upon the initial admission, it is still possible to get it after the first semester (9 credit hours) based on ones academic performance. 4 Likes 1 Share |

MackyNaija: The chances of getting good job without papers is said to be slim. I also heard H1b visa is on the decrease. I like USA but my fear is what happens after studies? They don't have legal pathways for getting prv like Canada. Please shed pathways to legalise stay after studies. 6 Likes |

MackyNaija: Hello. Sorry to disturb you, how much would you estimate your total spending (including tuition/rent/ every little other thing) throughout the 4/5 years you'd be there to be? Also, how much is tuition without scholarship for the full 4 years and how much is tuition with scholarship for the full 4 years? Thanks 1 Like |
