POF is basically for unencumbered funds or funds that can be easily converted into cash(liquid), documents that show property or capital payable to you, such as: stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills; documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you, such as: bankers draft, cheques, travellers cheques and money orders. POF can also be mutual funds, cash in a fixed deposit account, savings account, checking or current account, all of which must be at least 6 months old at the time of application. If you are currently 49.5 years old, then accessing your pension balance at 50 can be a reasonable deduction. Otherwise, pension fund balances will not fly. Note: POF is funds readily available to your and family to sustain basic needs of life for at least 6 months after landing without any support from government or people. POF cannot be borrowed. POF can be gifted cash or cash deposit from an immediate family member only and in this case, your spouse and you still have to show proof of the source. Any funds perceived by CIC or immigration officers as not readily available to your in cash in your own name, will not fly as POF. You will be rendered economically inadmissible in Canada if you cannot show the minimum POF required for the size of your family. POF will need to be maintained from the beginning of your application process until you land in Canada. I hope this clarifies. You can get more details here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/proof-funds.html Cheers! [quote author=jbadmus post=64279753 I do appreciate your response. At the embolden, I don't think it is necessary. This is an online forum, where the real personality of people is difficult to measure. Not everyone gets involved in any act of dishonesty or criminal act: I am not one! I was only asking if it could be used; considering the fact that one can still have access to this pension account again( having withdrawn the first 25%) when one clocks 50 years. Your insinuation was highly unfounded and lacks substance.Once again,I do sincerely appreciate the time used to respond to my inquiries.[/quote] 4 Likes |

sexymj:i don't know if "easy" applies to this path. Thus far I know some ipgs who came here years ago and are doing great. I also know some who came here years ago and have still not gotten their licenses. The pathway is to write the ee, mcq, osce, jurispudence and a 1000hr internship somewhere in between those exams. I think some provinces including Alberta recently reviewed their rules but I am unaware of what changed. Na there i know reach. For the rest, You can probably ask "googoo" 2 Likes |

sleekchic:I think if you write a letter of explanation as to why the account is only 5 months old you'll be alright. You may want to include 6 months statement from your other bank account(s) though even if the pof isn't in them just because your vo might wonder where you have kept your funds or utilized funda from prior to the 5 months period. |

oohunt:For sure. However that child would only be able to move to Canada under family sponsorship. If I'm not mistaken during the period of sponsoring a family member the sponsor must be on ground in Canada and working. I think you also need 2 or is it 3 consecutive years of having filed taxes here that show evidence of meeting the LICO for the total family size including the intended sponsored applicant . 2 Likes 1 Share |

sexymj:I won't say it is easy because of the qualifying exams and the continous learning activities even after you obtain the license to practice. It is necessary to set realistic expectations and be prepared so that you don’t become discouraged and frustrated with the process. From what I have gathered: Studying for the exams is similar to preparing for 5 years “worth” of Pharmacy school training over a short period of time, and the process to practice is quite long and costly. Normally, it takes 2 years (minimum) from when you begin the exams to when you qualify to practice i.e If you scale the exams at one sitting and luckily find internship easily! Exams are twice a year and each exam has about 3 attempts. Some scale EE and get stuck at the MCQs (part 1 and 2), some scale the MCQs and get stuck at OSCE. A lot of foreign trained pharmacist find OSCE as the most difficult unlike the home students who usually find it as one of the easiest due to being exposed to OSCE right from their 3rd year at Uni. Applicants generally believe that the exams get harder every year and constantly changing. In spite of the hurdles, there are a good number of Nigerians working in regulated professions across Canada so with a lot of dedication, diligence, and perseverance, you would scale through too. 10 Likes |

My spouse is totally against relocating to Canada. I thought he will change his mind after receiving PUM but he has stuck to his guns and said the kids and I can relocate and he will visit from time to time. We are both in our late 30s. I am not down with his idea so I am slowly giving up on my Cannydream. Has anyone had a similar experience and how did it pan out? 2 Likes |

rainazoe: Why not go there towards your visa expiration, complete landing formalities then use the next 2 years to know if that's what you want. It will give you about 3 years to make up your mind. You can even go on holiday there a few times. 24 Likes 1 Share |

Please my own case is both Tbills were booked first week of December, a day before ITA. Although, the funds have continuously matured and been rebooked as Tbills over some months. If i add 6 months statement (to show that it is not new funds), do I still need to add Reference letter from the bank? Or will the Tbill certs and statement suffice? Adiahabasi: 1 Like |
