you are not suggesting a reasonable reinforcement.

Suggesting Enyeama is like suggesting we bring back Peter Rufai

1. Both have retired from International football
2. Both are not actively playing football currently

Y'all keep saying the same thing:

- World Cup is not a joke
- It is not for average goalies
- it is not for small boys

The way you people are talking, it's as if this is Nigeria's first World Cup. It is on record that our best World Cup outing was with untested, average players.
okay o o o.

Enyeama hasn't retire yet and who says he won't get to play for his club before April... A few run of games will get him back to shape.

It baffles me how some praise the standard of the World Cup and suggest the importance of quality player. Next they suggest we select players not on current quality but historical data.

If the World Cup is serious business as it is, we need the best in every role, not oldest or most invited.
why are you allergic to the word Experience?

I don't have concern with an inexperience attack. But I don't joke with an experienced defence.

It is not even as if the present goalkeepers are first choice in their respective clubs. I don't understand the fuss around a potential return for vincent.

at least the ones that are playing are playing

Akpeyi is first choice in his own club

Uzoho is a regular in his

Enyeama is returning from injury and can't even get games in Lille upon all his experience, abi is the goalie playing #1 in his club more experienced than Enyeama that has been playing for 15 years?

BTW, our defence is already inexperienced as it is. We are set to go to the World Cup with a defense line that has never been to any major tournament, so, your ideology is lost on this team

After we qualified for the World Cup, I felt it was time for the happiness of qualifying early and the confidence in the minds of players should be knocked off.

I went on to post an article of the Power of defeat here. I wanted to see our team pummeled by a top side and then I expected the team to learn from it.

During the first half of the friendly against Argentina, I had a big smile on my face when the Argentines were Tiki takaing us. By the time it was two nil, the smile widened. I believed Rohr will have a full dossier of information to work with. I expected the game to end 4-0 or 5-0 in favor of Argentina.

After Nacho's free kick, some tweaks in our playing pattern, the result ended in our favor and I learnt a big lesson.

WE ARE UNDERRATING THE QUALITY OF OUR PLAYERS AND THE QUALITY OF THE AFRICAN SIDES WE CONQUERED.

I am now interested in seeing how the rest of our friendlies will go.
there is no doubt we played and conquered Africa's Finests enroute our qualification. But comparing the quality of these Africa sides with what we're likely to face is DELUSIONAL.

Rohr won't gamble with Akpeyi again and so he is presently out of the equation.

Uzoho is keeping for Deport. La Coruna TEAM B.

Ma'am I am done with this arguement. Na sidon look mode I de now.

A young lad came in as a sub for Southampton named Michael Obafemi..Commentators mentioned him as an Irish international. He even missed a sitter. But his name gave him up as a Nigerian probably he has dual citizenship..He is a centre forward.

If Enyeama starts playing again, definitely.

However, if he does not find a club, he will not be in the best shape for the WC.

Considering our current goalkeeper crisis, I don't think any super eagles fan will mind Enyeama returning to the team.. however,we want him to be fit!..
Even if he start playing again,he must be in good form... All this experience thing can be overrated sometimes, his form is what that matters.

Its funny that some set of people that don't want Echijele at the WC are the same one who want Enyeama there due to "experience"...

so, Enyeama is good at penalty kicks? Didn't they have to switch him for Aiyenugba while in Enyimba when it was time for PK?
Not talking about PK, but the keeper issue in general. He isn't that bad at PKs too

I don't think enyeama coming back will be possible....the best we pray for...is for the friendlies to reveal to us the best for the No 1 spot...
many here are talking of his poor handling of crosses...me fear more for the way he position himself in goal especially during penalty kicks...dude can't catch a mere penalty kick.
You know what would be funny?? Akpeyi performing better than everyone at the friendlies and then going om to have his usual psychological problems in the world cup grin grin

Ezenwa being in the National team for two hundred years does not make him the better choice. If not, Peter Rufai would have attracted every shot to his finger tips like an electromagnet in France 98.

When the Foreign goalkeeper trainer screened them, reports pointed out that Ajiboye was better than Ezenwa. We have formed a habit of celebrating who came first as the better choice over quality. Take Ezenwa to Deportivo and I can bet a huge Stake that he will never keep Uzoho on the bench.

We should stop the idea of bending or dropping the better player with the funny excuse that the other is a grandfather in the team.

Give us clear cut reasons why he is the best or reports that said he was better in camp. Clearly, Ezenwa is not even the best among those in the local league.

O yeah, and Rohr and his crew prefer to see Ezenwa at CHAN and not Ajiboye.

OK continue.

I am sure you know why Rufai came back in 1998. At least I posted the video here of the Baruwa incident that led to his recall. We had no better option then.

Carl Ikeme's illness has left us with goalkeepers that are not WC first choice goalkeepers. And we have found ourselves in that similar situation as 98 again.

An incident of 2004. Didnt you watch Enyeama's penalties action at the 2006 AFCON in the quarter final against Tunisia?

Enyeama worked on that weakness and improved in that area.

Don't be surprised if Uzoho takes over as starter for his club very soon. A last week the club's number 1 made a costly blunder and today they get hammered 7-1. The coach might at least take him out of the firing line and give Francis a chance.

I am pretty sure when Mikel was still in Chelsea, he didnt play for close to 3months yet he was a sure starter for us, but because people do not like Enyeama the narrative has changed, I mean wasn't it just last month that the guy played a professional game and even saved a spotkick?

Different scenario.

Enyeama is coming from a long term injury and has been retired for a while now. It is not as if he was benched.

Mikel never stopped playing for Nigeria and continued to perform.

I've said it before that Ezenwa is favoured. Some thought it was a joke. GOD'S grace is upon him. That's the kind of favour I pray for everyday. Unmerited favour. The kind that makes people ask : What special thing did he even do to deserve this sef?. His only job now is to improve on his cross handling and to learn how to trust his defenders to make certain clearances.

Bro...Seriously.

Not trying to impugn on your principles but favour over hardwork and merit.

The God I know doesn't work like that
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 8:10pm On Jan 21, 2018
Has Enyeama ever failed to perform in the GWG?

About his long term injury, did he not play a professional match last month? You know some GKs who are second or third choice do not even get to play for 2-3months straight, just ask Ospina but he is still the first choice for Colombia. Gks pick up form easily, just some training sessions and a few practice matches so long as they train weekly
