Thank you so much...............

As long as you file an application for admission and all outstanding documents before the deadline, you will be fine. The scholarship decision is made concurrently with the offer of admission. Scholarship decision cannot be made in the vaccuum until there is an active application for admission. If you are accepted, you will be assigned a student number and access into the full panoply and universe of USASK network and database. As for your chances, I am not privy to your life story and work you have done. High GPA is only one of the criteria. But your life story and the work you have done, scholarly and volunteer humanitarianism, also counts greatly. So concentrate greatly in writing a great thesis proposal and statement of intent. Support them with great recommendations from employees and at least one of your professors. You will stand a good chance.

Hello everybody, can an applicant re-apply to another school for Msc after been refused based on only "purpose of visit " because the applicant went for PGD?

Yes. Choose a course that shows progression in your career.

Guys I need your opinion on this.

Studied science laboratory technology majored in physiology/pharmacology option

If I choose master of pharmacology as my study program , will I be questioned about my career choice?

I am certain where you majored does not appear on your transcript or degree certificate but I am sure you must have done courses in pharmacology. Therefore, the onus is on you to prove to the visa officer how your chosen field relates with the previous study. If you do a good job at this, you will not be questioned.

gurus in the house your boy needs advice please. i got delayed yesterday and it really hurts. howbeit this thread has taught me not to give up so am planning on reapplying. i was delayed on the following grounds:
family ties in canada and country of residence
purpose of visit(i am going for my masters in the same field of my undergraduate study so i guess this was just put to make the reasons much)
current employment situation but now i have a job
personal asset and financial status
travel history.
i presume i didnt have proper documentation in the last one. please your different opinions are welcomed. i also have fully funded scholarship
thanks n God bless

Is this your second delay? I remember I talked to you about six weeks ago and you told me you were delayed on financial ground and don't want to try again. Wasn't that you? You were asking questions here several times that nobody answered so I reached out to you. You said your background check was reading processing for a long time, then changed to not applicable for a month or so, then processing again, you were wondering what all that meant since you applied since May 2017. Is this your second application denial then? When did you now obtain this scholarship of 27k that you have recently been delayed on? Who gave you the scholarship? And who is the sponsor you still talking about? Please give all info properly and completely so we know how to help you.

Good evening everyone, please I need your candid advice,

Also I want to go with my two daughters, how possible is it for the visa to be granted?
Thank you.

Hello dearest Nairalanders, I need help with some things.

I have three major issues that I need your opinions on.

1. For the Visa Application, I'm planning to use my dad as my sponsor. The problem now is that he retired September last year so he's not earning much. Just pension. His statement of account has a balance of about 3M don't know if that would be sufficient alongside my funding which I was told would cover my tuition and living expenses.

2. As a young male of 24 years who happens to be the first child and considering I'm still even carrying out my NYSC and I have no personal assets how best do you suggest I go about proving home ties to the visa officer and convince them I would return to Nigeria.

3. What is the total estimated cost for international passport, visa application and medicals?

I need as many opinions as possible. If you have any suggestions, please share!!!

Thank you so so much for your much anticipated quick response. God bless you all!!!

The money is sufficient if you're sure the funding totally covers your tuition and living cost. How many dependent does your dad have?

you don't need to have a personal asset. Your dad's asset would be enough to proof home ties. Just get all the necessary documents. Land, building, investment et al. Your parent and sibling will also proof home tie, 24 is no longer young, in my own opinion, lol.

Visa application 56k. medical varies depending on where you're doing it. cheapest I think is 28k. passport is 30k. it varies too.
Note that you will spend money in getting your documents too. from passport photograph to printing docs.

First shy do you want to go for PGD instead of masters? cos you stand a better chance of getting your study permit with a masters(since you already have a BSc).
It is possible to get your study permit if you apply with your two daughters but it will cost you lost of money (applying you will need more funds for their upkeep and also for their schools), you will need to show proof you have plans of enrolling them in school as soon as you arrive Canada and also getting a nanny to take care of them when you have lectures.
Not applying with your children will help a lot as they will serve as your home tie(showinh you have reason to want to come back to Nigeria after your studies).
NB: My sincere advise will be for you to apply alone first and after getting your study permit you can apply for your children later(that's if you can't do without them while in Canada. Also consider going for MSc instead of PGD

Anyone?
1. You can get affidavit for as low as #500.
2. You don't need to have the money in dollars, let your sponsor send the naira equivalent into your naira account then once you get your study permit you can take your admission letter and flight ticket to your bank and they will help you source for dollars at FG rate (which will benefit you). But if you want to source yourself now you will have to get it from aboki (black market) as your bank as your bank is not obliged to source for you now until your study permit is approved

Purpose of visit and insufficient funds.
You have to convince the visa officer why you want to spend millions going to Canada to study when you can spend way less doing same program here in Nigeria.
Secondly, the vo feels you don't have enough funds to carter for yourself after the first year.

Hello,
Affidavit has no special requirement or steps.
Walk into Ikeja high court, tell them you want to get an affidavit of support, it takes like 30minutes because they will have to print it out from their system and it goes for #700. They might ask you to show them some love, as someone that is aspiring to travel to Canada. So i best suggest you go with 2k. Because once they hear Canada, menh! they will call 2k.

You will need to go with your sponsor to the court as they would need his signature as the deponent. As i said earlier, go with 2k so you can get it done even without your sponspor escorting to the court, they will just indicate his name as the signature of the deponent.

Answer 2 -
Follow the advise of your bank officer, there is no way on earth you will transfer naira to dorm account. So go get the funds changed at BUREAU DE CHANGE and deposit it in your dorm account with your sponsor name as the depositor. While, your sponsor addresses this on his letter of sponsorship.

Best of luck OFFICIALAEL!
