Thank you very much..what's the way forward?

Exactly the question I asked myself when I L passed my exam
And after asking this same question and doing my own lil research...having CISA is not enough in itself, more work needs to be done especially if you New to the field of Information Security/Audit like me

Firstly, I think one needs to decide if you want to go into Information Security or Information Audit
For me, want to switch from where I am at the moment to Information Security
So already plotting on how to port to the security unit of my organization and while I'm on that, have also started some security courses online(Started Comptia S+ some weeks back, then move to CEH et others) to help me understand the field of security from ground Up(I don't intend writing the exams for those foundational security courses though but hope to write CISSP towards the end of the year)

Another thing that was mentioned here that I planned implementing is to get acquainted and active in ISACA's local chapter ..attend seminars (paid/free) to further broaden my knowledge and expand my network of Professionals in the security field

Information Security Professionals from the little I have gathered are scarce and in short supply relative to the high demand
My mentor would say, just get yourself grounded well enough and the sky is your starting point in the field of security

In summary we continue to read and learn (essence of CPEs in CISA) and pray to God to open doors for us

This is Very On Point....From Someone Who is already working as in IT Auditor...there seems to be a lot happening in the Security sector....From Pentesting.....to ISO 27001 ( which just means you are an Auditor with a Security focus).... infact ISACA themselves is in the process of releasing three new Certifications bent strictly towards Cyber-security....( Check out CSX & CSX-P).....

That being sed im also considering Doing my CISSP this year ( March) ...but am torn between doing it or doing something more hands on like ...ECSA or OSCP.

Also in response to your mention of S+.. my opinion...go straight to your CEH brother or ECSA

Your none IT background dosent mean much
IT is an open playing field for all ...if you ready to give it the hard work it takes

For Information Security with no IT background
I would advice you take it from ground up
first Comptia A+ takes you from scratch...understanding OS, BIOS, and computer systems in general

from there you can move to Comptia S+ ...teaches you the rudiments of security

Then you want to move to CEH (Ethical Hacking) ...then some courses on Vulnerability scanning and Penetration Testing

from there ...you can proceed to doing CISA, CISM, CISSP ..these are the management courses in security

there are other courses here and there...the more you know, the more you want to know and there are tons of resources online you can use

I did CISA first because I have a bit of IT background and just want to switch to IS field
right now, on the fundamentals (those courses I mentioned up there)
And looking at being a CISSP before the year runs out

information security professionals are scarce and needed everywhere..
So your move is a good one bro...

Thanks Bro. From what you wrote up there, Comptia A+ should be my starting point. Where can I get resources to get started? Do I need to attend a training institute for this? and is there any exam for this?

Thanks again boss and God bless u.

Cybrary.com is a good start
Free and really cool...all you need is internet access
The internet itself is a training institute..use it wisely
And yeah, there is an exam for it

God bless us all

HI Everyone...I want to do two things today....
First thing I was having a discussion with an auditor recently ...and found out that as an alternative to CISA, for those who r not too IT Inclined...and who might find all the Jargon too much then you could look at CRISC instead...especially for those intending to run to Canada..

secondly to give an Example of what kind of Questions one can see in the CISA Exam
