Icon4s:Ideye isn't a poacher but a target man. Target men are so underrated at times. His hold up play is good and he has underrated technique. He won't obviously score as much as Nacho or Ighalo, but he can be a useful tool off the bench. If anything, Nacho will benefit playing alongside someone like him. |

I am not that kind of person that will not want to criticise any player for the fear of being tagged a hater or "desliker". I cannot be diplomatic with my words on a faceless forum as this. I do not need to pretend to rate a player highly while I know is not just there. I say it the way it is. Bascovanveli, come my house come beat me. Hahahaha. |

Icon4s: A man with 28 caps for Nigeria can never be abysmal. He might not be top shelf or top class but anyone who rates him bellow average simply does not know football. I am not the biggest fan of his when it comes to pecking order for the GWG but the man is an asset on his day. We all saw what he did against Zambia without scoring a goal. |

edi287: And Rohr has since dropped him from amongst the strikers? The primary responsibility of striker is to hit the net. Even AMs and wingers are expected to score goals talk more of an out and out striker. Any player from the forwards can hold up play. Ighalo, Iwobi, and Mikel do that a lot. 3 Likes 1 Share |

edi287: I think Arsenal will play with the attacking quartet; MIKHITARIAN ....... Oezil Lacazette....... Pierre-Emerick While Wilshere/Xhaka will play at the base.... Iwobi will still get games, bearing in mind that they will be playing in the Europa cup (which could be their only route to qualify for the champions league) and the Premiership. 1 Like |

Icon4s: Then why did u take me on the long go around? Just say u don't rate the guy and I swear I will move on and at worst tease u if he performs. I didn't rate Amuzie from the u23 when Siasia played him against Egypt so I can understand not rating a player. My problem is how long it took u to actually say this was ur issue. Why talk about January being a bad time to make a transfer if u knew u just didn't rate the player? What about ur Nigerian factor that u talked about, what was all that about? Are u still saying it is because he is old or are u now going with him just not being good? The problem is that ur argument too dey change face. 2 Likes |

Icon4s:Pls get my point am relating Ideye status with the likes of Nwakaeme who some rate highly Truly you preferred Kayode over Ideye but I believe Ideye would add more to the team than Kayode. I don't think i would rate a 28 years old Nwakaeme with a cap over experience 29 years old Ideye, that's my point. I know you don't rate Ideye even if he score dozens of goals and your last paragraph has confirm it.which is normal cos i have some players i don't rate too. 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: Do you even know what it means to rate a player or not? You brought about the January talk. I never mentioned whether the move is good or bad because it is coming in January. The move being in January was not my focus in anyway. I was not just excited about the move. That is all. Please be understanding the trend of conversations before jumping into them. |

Kog45: I know Ideye is not that kind of player that will score dozens of goals in the La Liga. He does not have such abilities. Take that. |

Icon4s:Oh Rohr dropped him not a big deal,Ighalo was dropped too but bad performance against South Africa paved way for Ighalo against Cameroon even strikers like Nwakaeme and Aaron Samuel made the squad or do you want to tell me Aaron and Nwakaeme are better than Ideye. Remeber the same Rohr dropped Iheanacho to the bench for the same Ighalo he dropped for Iheanacho against Algeria and South Africa. This is to yell you Rohr can drop any player as at that time cos the team was evolving and was looking for immediate solution after South Africa match and thank God he started Ighalo instead of Nwakaeme and Aaron cos a lot on this thread wanted average Nwakaeme and Aaron over Ighalo and Iheanacho against Cameroon, may be we would have kicked our WC bye bye. If Ighalo can be recalled who i don't rate personally right from U20 days until Cameroon match then do not write Ideye off. 7 Likes |

Icon4s: Icon4s: That does not follow. A player can arrive in January and find it difficult to fit in. And then subsequently relegated to the bench. Good Luck to Ideye but I am not excited over that move. |

my 50 kobo; Emenike's struggles with Nigeria in my opinion started when Ideye got dropped from the team. No? How many games have Nigeria not scored in with Ideye in the line-up? My only criticism of him is he seems to have lost his knack for putting the ball in the net in the latter part of his career. Earlier on playing in the Swiss league and immediately afterwards, he was a beast! His goals did the talking, no long story. Having said that, on the positive side, the team play better in the final third when Ideye plays. He can hold the ball up excellently and links play better than anyone we have. This though I agree does not mean he is guaranteed a seat on the plane to Russia. Personally he has always been in my 'team' if 100% fit and in a bit of form. Finally I am not so sure about how hungry he is these days. I just have a feeling he is happy with the career he has had so far and obviously is now financially secure and has a couple of medals to show for his effort. The same cannot be said of most of the younger guys and this is a problem. Thank you for listening. lol 2 Likes |

Icon4s: this flop thing you are mentioning, towards the end of Ideye's West Brom career he actually started banging in the goals. I remember at some point he had 8goals in 11 games and one commentator during an FA cup game(I think it was either a semifinal or quaterfinal in which he scored too) was saying that he is now paying back his fee in full. Then he went to Olympiacos and basically made the Greek league's scoring chart his own. I am actually scratching my head as to why you think he flopped anywhere 1 Like |
