Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his achievements in office within the past two years.

According to him, there was need to encourage Buhari to do more for the Nigerian people.

He said this on Thursday when he appeared on CNN’s global affairs interview programme hosted by Chief International Correspondent, Christiane Amanpour.

“President Buhari has not disappointed me. Yes, he is fighting corruption, he is fighting insurgency.

“We are not there yet and it is not a one night wonder. With what he has done, we should credit him and encourage him to do more,” Obasanjo told Amanpour when asked if the state of ‎Buhari’s health and Nigeria’s economy worries him.

On the challenges facing the African continent, he said there was need to change from the status quo.

He said: “There are many challenges. How do we feed our population that is supposed to double in about a generation from now? How do we provide jobs for them and employment?

“Now, these are the challenges. It cannot be business as usual. We cannot sit in the cool and comfort of our past and think that we will be able to bring about change. Change has to come.”

4 months ago is a very long time.


I was not disappointed until he spent 50% of his tenure still giving useless excuses.

This was 4 months ago
With all the things going on in this country recently, even a blind, deaf and dumb will be disappointed.

There is a lot of time between now and fours months ago. Obviously the herdsmen killing and other scandals like barugate that followed played a big role

No cookie crumble, at that time buhari has not fully disappointed him, the last straw was when buhari was endorsed by those mumu governors 24 hrs after the benue bloodshed by herdsmen, go and read his letter again.

We moved from worse to worst in four months. Things keep detoriating under this government every second. In sane climes things that happened in the last 4 months is enough grounds for impeachment.

Voting out this government is no longer a civic duty, it's a matter of national emergency.

Well, things have changed in 4 months. Since that interview, there has been fuel scarcity, escalated herdsmen crisis, more poverty, talks of 2019, .....etc

Politicians never disappoints me with their selfish interest.
