Icon4s: Lets the stats do the talking shall we? I remember how frustrated I was when that squad was released. This made me start digging up superior replacements to most of the players Keshi picked. Anthony Ujah – Cologne - 2 Bundesliga 12/13 – 13 goals, 3 assists 13/14 - 11 goals, 3 assists 14/15 – 10 goals, 3 assists - Bundesliga Imoh- Standard Liege – Juplier Pro League 12/13 – 14 goals, 5 assists 13/14 – 10 goals, 8 assists Eneramo – Sivasspor Turkish Super Lig 12/13 – 11 goals, 3 assists 13/14 – 4 goals, 3 assists Osariemen Ebagua – Varese Serie B 12/13 - 17 goals, 1 assist 13/14 – 13 goals, 2 assists – Spezia Calcio, Seria B Ideye Brown - Dynamo Kiev Ukrainian Permier League 12/13 – 17 goals, 3 assists 13/14 – 10, 6 assists (all competitions) OR Nwofor - VVV Venlo Eredivisie - 12/13 - 8 goals, 1 assist 13/14 – 10 goals 1 assist for Herenveen U21 14/15 – 2 goals for Lierse – Jupiler Pro League I know who Rohr would have picked if he managed the team then, Oh and I also know who he surely wouldnt have picked too. stats show league goals only except otherwise stated. 2 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by EEGA: 11:19am On Jan 25, 2018 |
Humility017:Don't tell me that in a team that won two of their group matches and drew one, you can't "consider" just one of them for the match friendlies. Including one or two of them in the call-up for the friendlies will serve as a morale booster for players who will be playing in the next CHAN.If not, we should just opt-out like Egypt and SA because there is no need for CHAN. 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by wayodude(m): 11:31am On Jan 25, 2018 |
Icon4s: Iheanacho can boast serious stats from previous seasons that still validates his selection. Nwofor didn't and in any case is not a good comparison. Dude played for VVV Venlo and Herenveeen Under 21s not Man City alongside Aguero lol |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by EEGA: 11:31am On Jan 25, 2018 |
Icon4s:Sir,it hasn't gotten to that.We are just saying that one or two should be "invited" for the friendlies, which doesn't mean they will get to play. But if they are good enough, why not? Is not like we re saying they should be in plane to Russia. We are just saying they should be given a chance since we have a lot of friendlies lined-up for us. Or in which other way can you reward their hardwork? |

safarigirl: Those guys played the qualifiers in the run up to the 2013 Afcon winning squad. The super Eagles haven't managed to qualify for an Afcon ever since. It wasn't the case of being at the right place when they participated fully in the qualifiers. Irrespective of how anyone feels about it, they played their role and are certified legends, since they were in the squad that won gold for Nigeria. |

EEGA: BUt we played Cameroun in August abi September? Ever since, he has been found wanting for both club and country. If he was home based, I doubt you will make a case for him to start with. The truth can be bitter sometimes, I understand totally. 1 Like |

wayodude: The Anthony Ujah that you are trying to project was invited to the Super Eagles what were his stats in the GWG? Brown Ideye was frozen out of the team due to dwindling performances. Eneramo was a player you and I know didn't have it good in the Super Eagles. Uche Nwofor, was a product of our youth system and his career was on the rise. He had two descent seasons leading to the world cup. He was one of our hottest young strikers then. Aging Emenike was our only established number 9 then as Ujah, Ideye, and Eneramo had all fallen out of favour. We needed a young striker who could grow to become our next number 9. Uche Nwofor was it. Uche Nwofor deserved to be in that team 100%. |

Humility017: HAHAHA And some people will claim they are not biased. Do you know how many freekicks Mikel alone have wasted for the super eagles? Not to talk of Moses. Picking out a player for missing a free-kick while absolving the other for doing the same thing. Nigeria is indeed an animal farm. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Icon4s: The tournament aims to develop Local African football. You can't claim to be giants while your local league is trash. Development should be all round. The big countries will be the biggest winners if they took their leagues more serious. The tournament is a blessing to African football. 5 Likes 1 Share |

EEGA:hardwork at the expense of who? So, the guys who are working hard but are not in the league, they should not be rewarded? Who even told you that these CHAN people worked hard for this opportunity? Do you know how many players better than the likes of Okpotu and Ali were passed up so that some select few can shine unmerited shining? What happened to the hardwork of those people? We should learn to reward hardwork, but not at the expense of competence. These are not even the best players in the league, if you want to reward hardwork, do it on a level playing field where the best compete against the best. I have told you people, the next friendlies will not be for anybody outside Europe, remember how Alampasu was dropped for Ajiboye because Ajiboye was in the location the game was to be played and Alampasu was in Europe? That is what will play out in March 8 Likes |

safarigirl:it baffles me seeing people advocate for the inclusion of certain players not because they play better but because of sentiment.... the best should be picked that's my take and front I have seen thus far none is in that category yet. |
