Josh1996: 4.46 is good for all Universities in Canada. Though the very top schools might be... well.... tough. Whatever the case, the most important factor in Canadian Universities is securing a supervisor before you apply. |

Well I'm yet to submitted but almost done, one thing is only you can write 100% truth about yourself in your SOP then after that you can give gurus to help you review it, that's the mistake I made in my previous app, no one can write 100% truth about your life than you. so on the purpose of visit, I didn't talk more than a line about my undergraduate studies since I'm using my work experience (different course from my undergraduate entirely). So I talk more on my work experience, I explained more on why my intended course warrant the cost of studies and benefits of the course here in Nigeria by citing facts and figures they can look up, i explained how my work experience has prepared me for my intended course and how it will help me contribute to the class, I explained how some subjects in my intended course will help me upon return to my job, why Canada and why the school, how to finance my studies, I explained reasons why I must come back. I didn't go deep the way I did now in my previous app. On the weak employment thing; now I explained what I do at work, my position, how it has prepared me for this course then I submitted work related documents( I didn't explain what I do at work in my previous app) Limited employment prospects: this is about future plans I guess, I explained what I will be doing after my studies with proofs and why I will return to Nigeria, I explained why the course is more useful to me in Nigeria than in Canada. Personal asset : I didn't submit any personal assets documents before, now I'm submitting my own statement of acct, my landed documents, car docs too and I took advantage of my parents assets too as I will inherit some. I briefly explained this is separate letter addressing how I have tackled the refusal reasons not sufficient family in Nigeria thing: I discussed little about my family ,our numbers and now I'm planning to submit my siblings birth certificate and add them in my new app as I didn't even talk about them in my previous app at all That's how I tackled it and I hope it works for me this time. May God help Us adexyz91: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Josh1996: There is a way to email a Supervisor and get a reply. Dont go about begging him/her to be your supervisor and pledging to do anything s/he wants you to do. That makes you to sound desperate. It is a turn off. Go to the profile page of the supervisor. Read up his/her research areas. Read few of his/her journal papers, then send the email. In the email, say briefly about the supervisor's reseaech areas and how you can come in. Explain briefly the vital contributions you will make in his research group/department in particular and the university in general. Pls, dont go about bragging about your high CGPA. Or sounding arrogant. Remember that if you say you can do something is CONFIDENCE. When you actually do it is COMPETENCE. Manage these two very well. If you dont get a reply, give him/her a call. 6 Likes |

Cherryola:Go for the $5 own since you want your friend in Canada to collect it for you and scan to you. All you need is his/her address in Canada and you are good to go. But that of the $23 is for it to be sent outside Canada |

Prodigysam:Both are the same. If you have lots of documents to submit use the paper route but if not you can use the online route. |

Hello everyone. Please what program can a graduate of Physiology (third class) and pgd industrial microbiology go for in Canada that would be in line with these courses. Bearing in mind for visa purposes there has to be a correlation. Also, can a person with a pgd from Nigeria get admission for masters directly? |

Good day house. Please I would appreciate your take on this. I have started my application for student visa. However the resumption date stated on my application letter has elapsed (it was early January). Now I got a message from the visa office saying I should submit my passport.. Biko is there any need to tell them that I have been given an extension with respect to my resumption date? Should I submit the email from my school stating my extension or I should keep quiet Thank you |

Slik07: Good insight you have given on how to craft an email to get the attention of a potential supervisor. However, some profs do not appreciate being called on phone without prior arrangement of such. When you don’t get a reply, it’s either the prof is too busy to give an immediate response or not interested in your proposal. You can send a gentle reminder after two weeks of the first email. If he doesn’t reply, send another reminder after 2 weeks, if no response you should already know he’s not interested in your proposal. Move on to the next prof. The subject line of the email too is very important. Some subjects get instant delete. 1 Like |

keduduka1234: If I get you right, you got a passport request. If that’s the case, congrats. Submit your passport to get your visa stamped. You do not need to mention that you got an extension. Just chill till near the new resumption before you travel and do not forget to take the new offer letter along. 2 Likes |

keduduka1234:Congratulations bro, try and contact your school to inform them your trv has been approved to hear what they will say, Cos most schools give students some weeks after resumption to resume. Don't tell cic anything, just submit your passport asap (in fact now). NB: Even if you can meet up with school this time still collect your trv then defer your admission till a later date, but make sure you submit your passport asap |

Good morning house, Please I will like to make some few enquiries, 1) I am married with a child that is less than a year, what are the chances of securing student visa for my daughter n I. 2) my father will be the major sponsor together with my husband n I but I have dohe my change of name, how does my dad assist with the sponsorship. Thank you. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 10:21am On Jan 29, 2018 |
Doladele:1. Yes you stand a chance of getting it with your child but you will have to show funds for both of you (I think additional $3,000/year for your baby), meaning apart from your tuition fee you need to have at least $13,000 (at least $10,000/year for you and at least $3,000/year for your baby). Also you will have to show the visa officer you have plans on how to take care of your baby when you have lectures (like hiring a nanny during school hours or registering him/her in a creche).... you have to show proof of all these. If you can't afford all these then apply alone. 2. That's not a problem, all you need is your marriage certificate and also proof of change of name (newspaper). |

hello house, I am a silent follower of this thread. I was denied student visa today reasons; You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including: -length of proposed stay in Canada -purpose of visit My program is a two yrs direct entry course at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. I am married with 2 kids which i stated in my application and they are not going with me. I have landed property which was also stated with supporting document in my application. Please guru's in the house how do I tackle the raised issues and do I need my gcms note to tackle this. In short what is the best way to address the issue and then reapply? Thank You all and please keep this thread alive. God bless Us all |
