It means marijuana is a medicinal plant.

But large pharmaceuticals around the world knowing its healing properties had to ensure the govts ban its use so that they can sell the different drugs that often time do not even cure pples ailments though the drugs are made from diz same marijuana, while making billions of dollars in profits.

The author explanation of decriminalization was confusing. He mixed in legalisation without clearly stating it n different paragraph. Government won't hand out licences for a something they deem illegal. He also spent too much time on recreational benefits to the exclusion of medical. He could of mentioned pain relief, stress relief and seizure relief (Charlotte's Web strain) in passing. Other than that it's an ok piece.

Nigeria could save it's stress of booking and processing pot heads. I would just say legalize it and get tax revenue. The states that don't like it can ban it like they do with alcohol. The health effects are less than alcohol and codeine. Adults know effects and can decide for themselves.

Ps: Ghana thinking about widescale drug decriminalization based on experiences in Portugal and other nations it's worked in.

Anyway i do think your perspective on marijuana and its uses might be quite Limited if you think smoking is the only use this herb can offer.. Nevertheless on the smoking aspect, Just like cigarettes(Which has been proven to give cancer) and alcohol(which literally is poison when consumed in high quantity) are legal, what marijuana advocates are fighting for is a chance for this Less harmful substance to also be available for people who want to consume it reasonably without having to face the wrath of the law when other more harmful things are legal consumption. This is a democracy and I'm sure you know that No one can force you into any of these activities as we all have the right to choose what is right or wrong for ourselves and our children.. Our only Plea is, STOP Sending people to Jail For mere Possession and Responsible Use of Marijuana. Simple.

First of all Are you a doctor, how do you know his mental illness was caused by weed? This is where most Nigerians Fail.. Conclusion without In depth Analysis. It has been Proven that Anyone who Becomes mentally unstable from taking any Hypnotic substance, Even alcohol, Has a medical history of mental instability that probably runs in his or her family and is Purely Genetic. Look it up online. If you drink a bottle of alcohol and you're fine, and someone else consumes half bottle and starts behaving weird, will you blame it on the alcohol or the person? cuz if its the alcohol then all alcohol should be banned. But No, instead you advice such a person to desist from taking alcohol no matter the quantity because it posses a health risk to him in particular. Same goes for marijuana. its purely genetics and has nothing to do with the plant itself. I hope you get it now?

I should have used the word trigger instead of cause, in the main text I said weed induced psycho-mental problems. And I am sure if legalised the rate of madness that weed would trigger in this country would be unbearable.

I never this response went through. I didn't give one reason for not legalising it. In the area of weed, some people may never experience or exhibit any form of madness if they didn't take weed, it is the weed that triggered it out cause they may have it in their gene. But for alcohol you already had the problem, that is it had already manifest before the alcohol can become a problem
