MSCI MOVEMENT FOR 30 JAN 2018/GENERAL COMMENT

The fund's portfolio shows no movement for yesterday. However, the increase in Net asset value is still okay.

Again I will say no cause for alarm. Also in terms of the bear resuming in the market, we should let our mind be at rest, we are close to the earnings season and with so many positive results expected, bears will not have immediate impact in the market (but remember where your stop loss is or should be!!!).

For our offside (immediate resistant point) rule, the chart below for Fidelity shows one at NGN4.32. Tomorrow, I will give some instances where the offside trap may not be effective in some instances.

If you need further information on my analysis or will like me to comment on any equity, you can e-mail me via this forum.

Which other sticks will you recommend for short term investors...

- Wema still bullish like most banks
- All hav had a major rally this blessed month of Jan (let me Thank God here first)
- Any entry at this levels is not the best entry but just bear in mind mkt is still due for some pull backs soonest
- I like zenith a lil bit, because it found some support ard N30 to N31 levels , if it drops below N29 .. i get out and dont ask questions
- hang in there

Good morning fellow NSEMPA members.
Your bros has been off for some days now doing consolidations in both my business and stock portfolio.

I have reduced my exposure in the stock market by taking some money away for other businesses.
I now have Transcorp 20%,oando 40%,flour mill 20% and wapco 20%.

Reasons for adding flour mill and wapco is due to their recent right issue which i think was sucessful. There is money to carry these two companies along through out the year and I am expecting good results from them now going forward.

Secondly, they are more of defensive in the time of bears as uncertainties abound in the market especially in the second half of the year. Both are good on the long run.

I saw 4b units as the authorized share capital. If they intend to go beyond this, it should be discussed in their YE AGM.

Look at the distribution of the loans in the attached. IMO I think they want to pay down the big interest loans first while taking others cheaper loans from BOI or CBN.

Also the company should start Employee Share Scheme which will help then get some cheap funding.

Though they have a negative cash flow which in my opinion may affect dividend payments except if they dip their hands in the retained earnings and dash people.

You can only pay dividend from your RE when there is cashflow. The bold part is contradictory. Dividend payment is purely a liquidity issue. If the liquidity is not there just forget about it. That is why profitability never equals liquidity.... grin You could have said, except they get approval of the shareholders to pay dividend from the right proceeds or through debt (though this is not good for the coy's financial risk).

The result is a better one compared to the last two quarters and q3 2017:

- profit this time around is from the core operation as against the last two quarters where a big chunk of the profits was from other income.
- a buy for me grin

There were more than enough supply yesterday. They used up all the fuel supposed to run this one to N3.6 and above. Accumulation needs to happen here before it can move again. I could be wrong as usual.

Disc. Took off this morning with my tasere profit when offers kept piling up.
