What do you expect when the budget for education in Nigeria does not match the United Nations recommendation. Very easy to label the products of these higher institutions as unemployable when the system is rotten. Fix the system and everything will work out fine.

Who are you AND the students waiting for to fix the system?
Those benefiting from it
You are joking, right?

And even the little that is budgeted is being stolen right from the office of the Minister of Education, down to the VC of the different universities. You don't want to know the amount of corruption going on the different Universities. Some Vc are now opening NGO through which they steal money. SMH

Considering what we pay for education here and how much the government allocates to education, we shouldn't expect much.

i totally disagree.

The reasons for the clamities that befalls Nigeria is greed, wickedness, self centered nature and cowardice. The average Nigerian is a COWARD when it comes to the issues of life and death and enduring losses in standing up for what is right. Everyone is just getting by and that's a problem.

Overrated houses of dirt and we have the nerve to laugh at private universities with better facilities, smarter and calmer lecturers, and a working system. I can perceive the stink from here.

What a shithole of a country.

I dont think Nigeria will ever be better till Jesus comes.
As long as we continue to allow our religious bigotry and ethnic sentiments direct our course, am afraid u r right. But if we can separate state affairs from religion; trust me we would overtake even some European countries.
They keep bringing in their religion to slow us down, now we r grounded lets restructure they said no we must remain SHITHOLES.

This is with all the grants, incentives and funding by the federal government...yet those who should demand for more accountability from the government and bodies running these schools continue to shift their gaze upon private universities with better and more hygienic facilities
Than these shitholes.

You guys are very naughty for bringing this to a very very popular public forum where even International organisations come to pick statistical datas.
It's degrading and disappointing moving it to front page.
My University is never like this, even my secondary school...

... Are we blind or what?! Come 2019, you will still see a lot of youth dancing and carrying placards to support all these evil politicians (whose ward are tuck in a safe country somewhere). Where do we get it all wrong? How is it going to be for the generations to come, if Education; which they say is the best legacy is nothing to write home about in this Country. Even Ghana supersedes us in terms of quality of Education ..... Ha, O ga O!

Very true still we are most time not always sincere with ourselves, especially public office holders.
Sometimes in 2016 I saw two 2016 Prado Suv Parked right outside my office with Fed una Oye’s plate number .
The truth even for the VC of a federal university driving two 2016 prado suv is a total waste and unnecessary luxury.
There's high level of insensitivity from our government towards education since their kids are not here anyway.
