I do not think I support this idea. I will like the companies come out to buy their shares from the floor. Have say a programme in place to always buy back. It must however be transparent.

It was transparent. You mail or write the Registrars not to pay you your dividend, but rather should be used to buy more shares for you. The proposal was approved at the AGM and SEC is aware of the program.

Share buy back is quite different from dividend reinvestment program.

Share buy back is done by the company, while dividend reinvestment is done by the shareholders.

I think UBA did a share buy back of 1 billion shares some months ago at around N8 .
The shares bought were then cancelled.

So the only option is to transfer the portfolio to another online broker?

You need to have more than one platform. Maintain at least two but na only morgan go charge you low
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Zhirinovsky: 3:18pm On Jan 31, 2018
Yea that's what I'm asking how to go about it. Shebi I don't have to leave 2 separate funds in the 2 account.cos I don't have money to fund the new account separately. Please how can I do it?

This Oga can kill person sha. I think someone explained above that it is impossible to have money in Zenith Bank and you want to use GTB ATM to withdraw it. If you open another account, be prepared to fund it separately unless you want to be wasting time requesting for transfer of funds from one house back into your account and then into the second trading account. Bulls would have gone and you will be faced with bears all over the town. Morgan has been Ok of recent.

What you are asking for is not possible. If you want to use another broker, you have to fund it separately as you cannot use the same account for two brokers.
I can understand your frustration.
You will be better off in the long run if you change your broker but that might not be advisable now.

Buy-back is for companies that have large volumes of free cash. This company isn't that. Exchange rate instability affected them and so they are paying off the debts but with cash from their operations.

Shareholders exchanging cash for dividend is a good initiative because it helps the shareholders, sometimes, get the shares at a discounted rate stated by management. It also helps the company maintain a good cash reserve that would otherwise been given out as dividends.

Ugerrit?
