budaatum: Done. Points to note 1. She ate a mixture of grain and half a gallon of milk with eggs. 2. Every day she would spend an hour in the field eating grass to condition her stomach 3. She was very domesticated 4. She loved all other animals and never made any attempt to hurt any. 5. She lost all her predatory and carnivorous instincts and desires. 6. Nobody feared her (except one) due to her acceptance of everyone brought about by the love she was raised with. I guess the grass / herbs she ate did not kill her after all Cc dalaman come and read this "fake" story. |

superhumanist: LMAO. Do you know the volume of taurine a feline requires in her daily diet? You are showing the daily requirements for a little cat. Not for a lion get your facts right. Eggs and milk contain little amounts of taurine too small for a daily requirement for lions. To get the daily required levels for lions they need at least 500 gallons of milk daily and 4000 eggs daily. Why do you think lions eat. Humans need about 3000 mg of daily taurine dosage and if lions are twice or thrice the weight and size of some humans, how much daily dosage of taurine would you "intelligently" think they need? Why do you think that lions eat at least 15 kg of meat daily in the wild? |

Here is where you left out in order to cover your lie and paint it as the truth. To condition her teeth and gums we gave her heavy, rubber boots in place of the bones which she had steadfastly refused to gnaw. One boot would last this strange vegetarian from three weeks to a month. To start her gnawing on a new one we always sprinkled it with sweet- smelling perfume. To condition her stomach she would spend an hour at a time eating the succulent tall grass in the fields You are the fraud! : Dalaman what say thou

One of the religious lunatics who was promoting this garbage about "ewedu eating tigers", claimed that taurine is non-existent in natural non-animal sources. The link:...............................................http://www.vegetarismus.ch/vegepet/tyke.htm But sadly for him(or is it her), taurine can also be gotten from seaweed and brewer yeast!!!.........................................https://woman.thenest.com/natural-sources-taurine-7289.html QUESTION: Which Nairalander followed "Madam Egusi Jaguar" to eat the meal and ascertain that there was no animal flesh in the meal? |

superhumanist: Recommended taurine daily intake is 400mg/ kg A lion at full size weighs about 190 kg 400mg x 190kg = 76,000mg of taurine intake daily. Is this figure same as what is in your image? Tyke was given half a gallon of milk daily along with eggs. Let me leave the eggs first and focus on the milk. 8 normal cups make half a gallon and 1 cup contains 400mg of taurine so 8 x 400 That would give you 3,200 mg of taurine . Take 3200 from 76000 what you have is 72,800 mg remaining. Eggs contain approximately 400mg as well so let's divide by 400mg. 72,800 / 400 would give you 182 eggs or roughly 15 dozen eggs. She had to eat 15 dozen eggs and half gallon of milk daily to achieve this and even you and I know nobody can afford 15 dozen eggs consistently daily except you are mad rich and according to the story, this family that raised tyke were financially crippled |

butterflyl1on:why do you quote the clown above me. interested people willing to know the story will read it themselves. the story actually flawed science that state obligate carnivores can not survive without meat because they will not be able to derive some certain essential compound like amino acid which will help them grow big. but little tyke grows big. wonderful .i will like to also know if herbivorous animal can be trained on how to eat meat? well, i do not think little tyke story alone is enough. 1 Like |

Butter, you are trying to make out this lion stood in a field eating grass like a cow would. Even what you posted says it only spent an hour eating grass, which by anyone's reckoning, is not sufficient food (not to talk of nutrients) for a lion. You have posted that they fed it eggs too, which we now know, is a source of taurine. Guess we need to know how many eggs they fed it. I read somewhere a lion needs 15kg of meat a day. If the lion ate eggs (@64g per egg) alone, that would equal a whopping 234.375 eggs! A more reasonable tenth of its diet being eggs (and it would not surprise me if over half its diet was eggs!) sure would be sufficient to avoid the more drastic consequences of complete taurine deficiency. Though, the fact that it died at the early age of 9 indicates that it might have caught up with it in the end. 2 Likes 1 Share |

According to this article, the Westbeaus made money from selling pictures of the lion' lying down with a lamb!!! The link:.......................................................http://criswaller..com.ng/2007/07/creationism-vs-evolution-discussion_2141.html As usual, no evidence of a lion eating grass, just noise and throwing of emotional tantrums!!! |

budaatum: She died from a pneumonia infection during a movie shoot due to exposure to excessive cold weather and her rigorous routine and not from deficiency in taurine. Deficiency in taurine kills lions in weeks and not years. |

butterflyl1on:Oh good. You done the same calculations. However, your conclusion here is outright fallacious! it would cost a lot more if you were feeding it meat, and people very well can afford it. Besides, Little Tyke paid her own way from the numerous paid work it did. It even raised funds for a hospice! Haven't seen anywhere for the financially crippled. |

TomHagen:Yes. Pain, whatever the form or genre, whether it is emotional pain/torment, physical pain, the pain of loss etcetera fundamentally, is part of the result of the original curse TomHagen:Exactly, and more the reason, why I gave the illustrations about each feeling pain differently, which is why, some faint, at a mere sight of a hypodermic syringe or needle, whilst some take same injection, without batting an eyelid and why, some undergo eye surgery needing the benefit of an anesthesia to induce temporary loss of sensation or awareness and some dont. Pain, in fact, was dormant and not active before eating of the fruit Pain, the whole shebang, came in to effect, after the loss of the glorious clothing |

Some comments I saw online about the lion who loves egusi!!! COMMENT NUMBER 1:Aside from reposts on sites affiliated with those two groups and the book itself, additional corroboration is apparently non-existent. COMMENT NUMBER 2:In retrospect it's probably just a propaganda piece for the authors views [Which as you might guess, favor christianity, nurture over nature, and moralistic veganism]. COMMENT NUMBER 3:At the time she would normally have been learning to eat meat, she was recovering from a tremendously painful burn-she likely learned to associate the smells of raw flesh with intense pain and, therefore, avoided all contact with raw meat.Georges Westbeau, her owner, spun all kinds of nonsense about having trained her to eat a vegetarian diet to her being a sign from God (the lion lying down with the lamb and all that). He was definitely a bit of a P.T. Barnum in that respect. COMENT NUMBER 4: The poor animal apparently had rare severe case of meat and blood allergen deficiency; and it apparently caused her many health problems during her short life ( a lion living in captivity, as she was, can be expected to live for in excess of 20 years; 9 years is a very short life for a lion protected from predators). 2 Likes |

superhumanist: LMAO you are just fooling yourself. She REJECTED MEAT! Don't you still get it? She did not want to have ANYTHING to do with MEAT, BONES, BLOOD right from when it was a cub. So what rubbish sayest thou? They already said they gave a daily milk of half a gallon, eggs and cereals and she would go and eat grass in the field for an hour daily BY HERSELF. yet she thrived without meat. She grew into a lovely specimen. Lost all her predatory instincts and lost her carnivorous ways. If you don't like it, go back to the past, carry out a brain surgery on her, change her vegetarian ways which she chose herself and live in peace |
