Using the info you provided your score was 412.
Modified
So does it mean it won't be enough to enable me apply?

Sorry Dear, we would rather we get it right. You should not wait, please enter the pool before I close and open my eyes!

Are you sure that there no other resources you can use? Pension funds? Office ajo (co- operative), Mutual Benefit and other similar insurance plans?

Guitarlife:

The treasury bill I bought will mature next year January and my CRS is 267 which would earn me instant ITA once I enter the pool by Gods grace so would I now wait till ending of the year ?

I have pulled out all resources and this is what I could gather.
I was hoping someone would assure me that the face value was good enough.

@Guitarlife, I suggest you be conservative and use the discounted value. For me, I believe the question ia how much you have at the moment not how much you will have in the future.

Do note that TBs can be sold for cash prior to tenor expiration, it may not be held to maturity. Also, let"s say the TB's tenor is 1year and your PPR is to be issued in 2months, will they use the face value in 1year's time to calculate how much you will take to Canada in 2month's time? Answer this and then you will have the answer to your question.

Good point but.........objection my Lord. grin

I think he should use the face value because of the following reasons:

1. The face value is the amount that will be paid to the investor at maturity.

2. IRCC used the word "payable" (see attached). Payable means "due", "to be paid".

3. According to IRCC, the normal processing time is six months. The 21 days, two months and co processing times are all "exceptional cases".

Please what makes the form different? is it the fact we have to write FE at the top in addition to the MALE?

Looks like the same form to me though, I got mine yesterday courtesy inspector Moshood but I was given a pink form while hubby's own was black. I think it's the same info.

I think I understand now. The actual PCC will be different but the form we fill to obtain the PCC is the same. Thanks.

The actual certificates are the same. But the form you fill yourself is different. The one for female is pink while it is black for men. It is boldly written 'male' & 'female' on the forms.

Hmm, we won't be going personally to get the PCC's and the Form I got online from the thread is the same.....

Please can anyone who got the PCC's done by proxy explain how/where to get the separate forms? Thanks

Sister mi, I'm not sure this is the case o. The face value is what is payable to you. Remember you have already earned interest upfront. If I use your logic, does it mean that if I have 2 different investments in Tbills and one is for 2 months and the other 9 months, I can use face value for the former and discounted value for the latter? In my opinion and regular practice, it is the face value that represents the value of your Tbills.
At least, that is how I presented my own Tbills for POF.
@Kontagious, biko help us out, since you used Tbills and have gotten PPR.

Hello friends. How was our day.
I have a quick question. On the treasury bill certificate we have the face value and discount value.

As we all know the face value is only realised after full maturity of the TB .

Can we still calculate the POF using the face value of it is the discount value that should be used ?

Face value is in order. Like @DadR noted, that's the amount available to you at maturity besides the fact that you have taken interest upfront .

They had pink forms for females and white for males. I am not sure if there is any difference in format but they are labelled so make sure you use the correct one for your gender.

You have taken the interest upfront but you will not earn that interest that you have collected fully that until maturity. A discounted fixed income instrument will converge to face value at maturity. In essence you have collected money that you have not earned.

Guitarlife may choose to use face value but I, Happytbaby, will use discounted value.

Funny enough I cannot see where to quote GlitteringStar for some weird reason so ayam quoting both of you.

I am not saying CIC will ultimately disqualify it, I am talking about the technicality of what a TB is worth at a point in it's life. I am okay with points 2 and 3.

If you decide to sell a TB prior to maturity you will sell it at a discount to face value however it should be higher than how much you paid for it initially (provided that interest rates have not moved up and your value gone down), this is a reasonable assumption since you would have expected to have earned some interest during the period you had the TB (holding period return). If you want to sell it today you cannot sell at face value.. ..it naturally follows that no one will buy it for the same amount that it will be redeemed in the future.

CIC aside, l was coming from the logical stand point of "I do not have that face value as at this moment and would not compare the exchange rates of today with a value of tomorrow, I will compare like with like" but this is me, it does not have to be what Guitarlife or any other person would do, I always prefer to be as safe as possible.

To answer Newmum, If I have 2 discounted instruments and they both have a tenor of 1 year but one has 2months to expiration, I will be more comfortable to use Face Value for the one expiring in two months time, I have already earned 10 months of interest .

For things like this, I guess CIC will most likely just let it slide because writing a rejection letter on the basis of POF saying that the DV is less than POF whilst FV is sufficient will be too 'one-kind'.
