Dennis2000: Hello Dennis2000, If I understand your question clearly you said your father is your sponsor right and he has 20Million as the available balance in his bank account. And you also have two cousins but there parent is the one sponsporing them. You don't need to worry about your cousin, since their guardian/parents are the ones responsible for their expenses in Canada. You should be concerned about yours not their's. Your dad having a closing balance of 20M is good, but to some extent not good. Let me quickly through this question to you : 1-) Where is this 20M held? Is it in your dad personal account or company account? 2-)How much is your tuition...Have your dad paid your tuition fees and transfer your living expenses into your account?.. ... If you want your application to scale through without refusal based on insufficient funds, you should do the needful. 3-) How many dependants does your father have? Your dad should proof that all financial obligations will be meet and also write a convincing letter why he is sponsoring you in Canada to study and also proof to the visa officer that sponsoring you won't be a burden to his business, your siblings , finances and personal live. I hope this answers your questions. All the best! 2 Likes |

hoyin123: hoyin123, It is advisable to get funds in convertible currency (i.e domicilary account) it will go a long way to convince the visa officer that funds can be easily accessible and exported to Canada by applicant. But while doing this, endeavor to pay up your tuition fees. All the best! 3 Likes 1 Share |

WEIRDPC:I do know that once you present your visa with flight ticket you can get dollar at CBN rate in the bank. That is what I have been doing any time I want to travel. |

Dennis2000:There might be a problem if your dad have other dependants. he needs to show proof that he can sustain the sponsorship beyond the first year for the three of you |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 10:18am On Feb 10, 2018 |
hoyin123:Any of the two will do but he should state it in his letter of support so the vo doesn't see it as lump sum. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 10:21am On Feb 10, 2018 |
Frankrobbn1:Brown he said his dad will act as co-sponsor to his cousins as well, so the total amount his dad will be pledging for the 3 of them will be 18mil out of 20mil..... VERY DANGEROUS MOVE I MUST SAY |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 10:24am On Feb 10, 2018 |
WEIRDPC:Yes you can get CBN rate but you will have to show your bank your TRV, flight booking, admission letter and you are good to go |

mcobex: Hehehehe! Sounds funny anyway. I was thinking the fellow was saying his father will sponsor him and While the parents of his cousins will cater for their children needs. I never knew he was referring his father as the main sponsor to the 3 applicants. How do he think that such application can scale through insight of the visa officer, How on earth will a sponsor decide to spend all his funds just to send 3 applicants at once to study in Canada. I believe this to be a joke! 1 Like |

Dennis2000: Mr Dennis2000, Your question is just scattered and no one seem to understand it. Let me see if I can give answers to your question once again. Your dad has 20M naira in his bank account right? You have two cousins also that are aspiring to travel to Canada but their parents will be responsible for their expenses in Canada right? Your cousin parents have 8 Million as their closing balance right? And your dad will also include another 6M aside from the previous 20M right? So now your dad plans to support them also by adding 6M bank statement to right? Yes your dad can support them by paying their tuition or transferring funds into their account, but your dad shouldn't stand as the main sponor to them. Let your cousin parents stand as a sponsor and your father as your sponsor. I hope this answer your question right 1 Like |

mcobex:Thank you mcobex. My line of work is in no way related to my field so I will have to be silent on that. "My area of specialization(Radiation and Health) is somewhat new in Nigeria, hence limited knowledge and Practicality. I got to find this out after I have already started so I decided to complete this and go for further knowledge of my field in Canada- the best there is so far." Don't know how this sounds but I am going to give it more thinking. Thanks again. 1 Like |

Good day house. Please I need to get something sorted out. I've been searching for schools where PGD courses are offered but I'm having little difficulties streamlining my search. Is there a search site that one can use in searching for schools that offer PGD courses in Canada? BTW, I have a HND in maritime transport and business management and I am looking at going for a PGD in maritime management or transport logistics. Your suggestions on reputable and affordable schools would be highly appreciated. Thanks |

My uncle is standing as a one time co-sponsor for my application. He is married to my mums younger sister (Same mother different fathers). I planned to use sponsors marriage certificate, and his wifes and my mums birth certificate to proof relationship) but My mum's affidavit that she uses as birth certificate does not carry her mothers name like we have now. How else can I proof my relationship with my sponsor? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Dennis2000: 3:16pm On Feb 10, 2018 |
OK I understand what you are saying My cousins parents are the one catering for them , my father is not paying for them he just want to help them beacuse they have 8m in their account ( but source of income is good) he just want to act as a sponsor by including his bank statement of 20m and 6m toghether with my cousins parents acc of 8m and also stating in his bank reference letter that he will sponsor them . in my two cousins study permit application form in the space of putting sponsorship they put parents and uncle together with their parents landed properties worth 3m and 4m We didn't pay any tuition fee Then in my application I put only parents for sponsorship with my father statement of acc of 20m and 6m together with my dad bank reference stating he will sponsor me and my two cousins and some landed properties worth 4m and 5m Then we all submit the applications together on Jan 25 Now what the possibility of getting the visa and how long it might take since we submitted the applications together Or can it be refused based on insufficient funds |

Dennis2000:Bro please don't shoot yourself on the leg, your dad is a third party to your cousin and as such he will need to show commitment by paying the money into your cousins' account (not just saying ilhr will sponsor them by mouth), if the vo sees that your dad is commitment 18mil out of his 20mil for sponsoring the 3 of you I think it will be an issue(especially if he has other dependants). My advise is for your dad to just sponsor you alone. NB: I don't know why your uncle wants to send his two sons to Canada to study at the same time when he knows he only has 8mil in his account(and the guys don't have any funding from the school). Well, you all have applied already so nothing anyone here will say that will change the decision of the vo. Just keep praying about it, best of luck |

[quote author=Frankrobbn1 post=64906026] I don't know how many times I will tell applicants to stop using company/business bank statements as primary/main proof of funds to applicants. Visa officers don't regard Company bank statements as proof of fund. You only use that to support your application with your sponsor personal savings bank statement. Saviouro please stick to the advise of WEIRDPC it's a guided one, Let your uncle pay part/full tuition and transfer your living expenses to your dorm/personal account with this you have shown the visa officer that your primary intent is to study and you're a genuine student. Once you do this, your next application will be a successful one. Also try establish proof of relationship with sponsor it goes a long way on your application. Hello frankrobbn1 please I don't understand I intend using my mums business account statement and documents she is into international import business and also a customs officer but doesn't intend using her personal account statement as the history is not very okay for visa application. Also my dad is a retired pharmacist I don't intend using him as a sponsor because his monthly pension is about 275,000naira that's d amount of money that has been coming thru DAT acct for d past 6months. Please I NEED YOUR ADVICE All efforts so far are being put in my mums business acct the history is good. |

JoseJonn: Hello, I've been where you are. Business account is not always advisable as the main account. Business account works better as a co-sponsor account. How can you proof your mum is the sole signatory to the account? How can you proof the business account will sustain you beyond the first year? What are the possibilities of paying for the tuition and living expenses and still have a substantial amount for running the business? |
