TheSuperNerd:you see this is where the problem lies, that you drop fact to defend a player doesn't mean I'll agree with you, defending a player is cool but don't lace your response with insult, argument on this thread is suppose to be analytical, if you have dropped all fact and the opposing party isn't yielding you can just let it go and move on and not resort to calling people names. a coach once said statistics are like mini skirt, they only reveal half of the story. 3 Likes |

We should all call down please. No need to point fingers at anybody. We are all here to discuss football. And on a public forum like this you will always meet people with divergent views. I have said it before that the only person that has not been criticised here is that person that has not said anything here. This is place where everyone is free to air his/her opinion but also know that your opinion is not Law. I use to call some people some players' attorneys here. That is them. Expect them to come tackling when their favorite players are being criticised. So if you want to critic any of those players gather enough points to back up your comments. And you'll be fine. Liedetector, that is it. Don't take it personal. That is how we roll here. 2 Likes 1 Share |

MetalJigsaw:Sir did you know Morocco have not won any major senior cup for past 40 years plus Did you know the starting eleven of Morocco CHAN team were made up from 5 Raja and 4 Wydad players. Did you know that the majority of starting eleven did not played against Sudan in their last match and gave them fresh legs in the qtr, semi and final match. Did you know Morocco played all their six matches in the same stadium. Did you know other teams need to travel by road to some stadia to honour their matches. Did you know Morocco was a host and they had massive support knowingly they have not won any major cup at national team for so long. I'm saying this to tell you it's not that easy though not an excuse for bad performance but mind you we played Morocco in the final. Truly our team struggle to the final without clear performance but despite that they made it to the final, some would say Ezenwa and Ajiboye played a major role in our performance but they are part of the team. I believe we can do better next time, losing 4 nil in the final not really good for any team but i remember Brazil losing 3 nil to host France during France 98 final, the same Brazil lost 7-1 to Germany at 2014 WC even as a host, heaven did not fall.I remember our present Super eagles lost 2- nil to South Africa at home,so nothing new about it. Pls this is football and it happens sometimes and we just need to take it and move on and plan ahead for better performance 3 Likes |

Kog45:I understand people's anger, some said there are better players that were dropped, just like icon4s said that they are all of the same quality, I can only say maybe one or two should have been added but the truth is the quality in our local league have seriously been diluted by poverty and poor administration by these clubs. Sunshine stars have been banned from registering players for the new season just because they have not paid their players for a very long time, they played their last match with 10 players and they deservedly lost by 5-0 so tell me, if players of sunshine see an opportunity with a club in even Guatemala won't he jump at it? they too have bills to pay, they too want to ride in a cool SUV. don't be surprised that before the end of next month most of the young guys in that squad would have joined foreign clubs. 1 Like |

Funny how I read really childish and obviously misdirected comments on Diabate threatening Iheanacho. I already knew Puel will make the football choice overall by not starting Nacho. I just knew it. I also knew his reasons for starting anyone behind Vardy or just off Vardy in Okazaki fragements' absence will be tactical. He picked Diabate because he is faster and feels he can press the man city defenders more... But sadly, Diabate was lost. He offered little to nothing and had no creativity to his game when he had the ball. Puel then made the change to bring in Simpson and revet to a four man defence. That way they had Ndidi and James in the middle with Silva off. They also had Chillwell on the left, Albright on thru the middle and Diabate back to the right.... Biko... If Diabate was truly brought in as Nacho's direct competition, then why take him to the right after bringing in Danny Simpson at RB? Leave him in the center naa... Push Albrighton to the right... Yes after all Mahrez is left footed and plays front the right (even though he too can play from the left). The formation after Simpson's entrsce changed to Vardy up top (as usual), Albright on behind Vardy, Diabate on the right, Chillwell on the left... But Puel saw that this was not working... Albrighton was lost playing behind Vardy. I know Man City bossed possession so much that Vardy even grew frustrated at a time but Albrighton didn't even do anything nice ehen he had the ball in opposition areas. Diabate too was struggling against a Zinchenko.... Puel then decided to make the only last two subs I knew he will make. To bring in Mahrez and Iheanacho. Mahrez came in for Diabate to take up his place om the right.... Then Iheanacho came in for Chillwell but not to play from the left of attack but to play thru the center behind Vardy and push Albrighton to the left (his pre-dominantly normal position). Why didn't Puel just take off Chillwell and bring in Mahrez so as to push Diabate into a central role behind Vardy with Mahrez on the right and Albrighton back on the left, since according to some, Diabate competes with Nacho even in that no.8 role? Lolll... Question. If Diabate was capable of producing even a moment of ingenuity in that central role behind Vardy in a 4-4-1-1/4-4-2, Puel certainly would have left him to shift into that role with Mahrez being his only other intro on the right orrrrrrr... He could have gone with Mahrez centrally and Diabate on the right. But he did not... He opted for the creativity that both Mahrez and Iheanacho on-field together will bring to the plate even though Man City were practically coasting to victory and being so dominant in possession (and making it it count so clinically). Immediately after Nacho's and Mahrez's introduction, Pep made the wise decision of countering that potentially dangerous combo brought in by Puel, by brining in a physical Danilo for Zinchenko to help the defence of Laporte and otamendi (John Stones came in much later) to battle the new threats of Mahrez and Iheanacho. Man city starved Leicester so ruthlessly of the ball and Nacho didn't get his leg on a ball for a full five mins or so after he came on. Mahrez had touched it but he was immediately dispossessed. But when Nacho finally got the ball, he produced a moment of magic. He found Vardy beautifully with an unexpected pass from the right channel of attack to the dege if the box which forced a spilled save at the box's edge from the onrushing Ederson..... That was just ingenious from Nacho and again points to the power of his Vision. Nacho didn't see much of the ball no thanks to Man City making sure that Leicester didn't have a sniff so as to avoid getting the likes of Nacho or Mahrez on the ball and doing some He didnt see much of the ball but the few times he had the ball, he was dangerous. Vardy even had to kick out at Laporte to vent his frustration at the way Man City were just toying with Leicester in real class possession football. So all this talk of Macho this and Macho that is really childish I must say. As if he is also the resosn Leicester lost again abi? Even a moniker here called Drklever made a very funny prophetic comment.... Something like this... "Let Puel not bring in Nacho when Leicester is down and out ooo as if expecting him to change it all by himself" Funny enough Piep did bring in Nacho after realising his mistake of destroying the 3-5-2 he started with which fetched them that 1-1 first half... And decided to revert to a four man defence and make his midfield one man less by taking out Adrien Silva who is their most assured ball passer. Some people just want a piece of Nacho even ehen he has nothing to do with a result. Leicester lost because of the coach... Puel caused this massacre. I felt most for Ndidi.... That guy will be world class in the not-so-dustant future... He was everywhere tackling, hassling, winning balls and showing Ageuro who is boss in a man-to-man physical tussle for the ball... Ndidi is a boss midfielder in the making. He also shackled that wicked man called De Bruyne a few times (the guy still bagged three assists ooo... Wckrd brains he is). Ndidi's stats and showing was really impressive and rhe loss only did injustice to his performance..... It is okay. This is man city after all... Champions of England in the making. They have blown away everyone with Pep showing his class once again. So make dem no to vex for the loss. But Puel shot himself in the foot by altering his 3-5-2 which held back Man City for a good 45 mins bar that one goal. Puel needs to check himself. Finito. 4 Likes |

And this is why I also said here that peooel should learn to watch matches and players for themselves in full live action.... Or you were not here when I said that? I said Stats never tell the whole story and clips of players never reveal it all... Watch them for yourself and do so with am unbiased mindset as regards what your ideals are... Judge a player on his attributes and on what true quality he has. And Stats are still important in football nonetheless because without it, nothing will ne valid in arguments... You acanmot just walk in here and drop am absurd comment like "Victor moses is not good enough" for instance and you think we will leave it unchallenged without you presenting a strong case backed with facts and stats. We will just throw it out the window... Simple. We cannot condone comments that insults the intelligence and analytical credibility of this thread in thebmane of having a so called opinion. Let your opinion be made with facts backing them... This is a football thread for God sake. It requires us FIRST to be more analytical in a truly holistic manner before bringing in any personal feelings or bias.... And again I say.... No one insulted anyone. It is you and the rest of your few who see insults in another moniker actually challenging another point made with such disdian and without facts sef. So when someone challenges a point made against a player it is insult to yoy because it is about Nacho abi? You guys just keep bringing in stuffs that never happened because you wanna get cheap likes... Very funny. I repeat.. Stats are part and parcel of football. A holistic view is best employed when looking at stats because people will always wanna also pick the angles they wanna look at a stats from. Also Stats and clips are not everything which is why I recommended metaljigsaw on this thread to view Uduokhai and even torunarugha for himself.... Biko... If anyone must quote me... Do it without bringing up the insults issh... because that is the lamest approach to talking about opinion differences since no one actually insulted anyone as far as I know... Instead I am the one insulted like before just for showing the whole thread that Nacho played no.9 in the FA Cup. So drop the insults talk... It didnt happen. Thank you. jihday: |

Liedetector's comment on Nacho not being good enough is not football analysis Elder sir. Even Phil Neville said that he thinks Puel was wrong to not start Nacho because Nacho is in wicked form at the moment and is high on confidence and should have capitalised in that against Man City. Liedetector said his without any form of backing to his claims whatsoever.... So how is it football analysis? I just see this Nacho this or nacho that attempt by some guys here to again cheap attention... Nothing more. What is analytical in what he said sef? It is just attention seeking biko... Haba. I also guess using the word "absurd" is also an insult... I used both "bollocks" and "absurd" in my posts and referred to some opinions here. Did I label someone in such tag? I speak of we not tolerating comments that are absurd and reeks of bollocks when it is uttered or typed without facts or stats backing them. Having an opinion does not mean abusing the sense of being truthful and logical. One must back what he says and not just spill things anyhow in the name of having an opinion. That is what is called talking bollocks. How that is an insult to you is very funny. Loooolll jihday: |

All I'm saying is that resorting to name-calling when another person has a contrary opinion smarks of immaturity to say the least. Even if someone doesn't bring facts to the table (and seemsvto be arguing blindly), let us learn to rain tolerable. Besides, I find it hard to fathom why someone will hate a player that he doesn't have personal connections with. It's kinda absurd really and doesn't make sense.
