Wait. Sunshine stars played their last game with 10players? This is the height of it.

Do you mean they started the game with 10men or one was red carded in the course of the match?
They started the game with 10 players and had no one on the bench. Sums up how terrible our league is.

Nooooo, they started and finished with the same 10 players, no sub. imagine traveling from akure to Jos for about 10 hours and still play for 90minutes http://punchng.com/league-shame-as-sunshine-play-10-against-plateau/

Nope. There is an in between but folks here won't see it or don't want to. Can anyone accuse me of never castigating some aspects of Nacho's game or never mentioning where he has to improve? Have I never ever mentioned what he needs to keep working on despite some fine showings?

The real issues here are these...

1). People just don't like anyone here praising A Nacho performance (which is actually normal). They want Nacho to be ignored and trashed if possible.

2). Even when the people who point out Nacho's strengths often also point out Nacho's weaknesses and areas he should still work on... It doesn't satisfy those who just want Nacho labelled poor and useless.

Balance is coming only from the side that rates Nacho but the side who don't only provide negatives, backlash and sometimes lies to support their stances.

The side (like myself for instance) who say Nacho is good and a special young player focus more on the positives but also call out the areas of his game that need working on to become really super and top notch. But the problem with this? Most people deliberately skip the parts where I speak on Nacho is not there yet.... And turn their eyes to bring down the Nacho is a special player part. Really funny.

So there are no two extremes alone.... There is also a middle ground which is here I stands and would naturally oppose an attempt to maliciously downgrade his quality just because they domtr like hearing Nacho is special.

This may be coming from me..... But it is the truth ... I hold nothing back.

Mujtahida says something like, it is better to focus on the best than the worst but also not to deny that work need be dome consistently on the worst.

It is funny how no one saw or remembers my caning of Iheanacho after that south African game. That is me, I can see the genuineness of a young talent and root for his potentials to bloosom but I will also keep pointing out when necessary his need for improvement and will even get specific about it..... but it doesn't take away the fact that such a talent is special.

Finito. Lolll... (TheGoodJoe, see what you have done to my vocab)

edi287:

It's one extreme or the other with him. Either he gets overhyped or he gets underrated. No in between with him on here. That's the real issue.

Oga icon4s this issue is simple,we should stop name calling and talk football if truly we are football lovers.

Imagine someone insulted your Father or Mother on the name of football talks,we just have to put end to it.It can't continue like this on the pretex that this is my player and is not my player.

Oga Kog45, we have always cautioned peeps here on names calling and I am sure you know that.

We are all wired differently. There are some people that find it difficult to change some things about themselves.

We have always preached caution and some level of restrain when we engage in certain arguments and with that most of us that have adhered to this have not had our Fathers or mothers insulted.

There are certain things we cannot completely eradicate from a public forum like this. We can only minimise such. No system is perfect. We can only strive towards perfection.

And to every member of the house it is very important that we respect each other's views. There is always room for criticism but we must learn to do that with respect.

Sad that people, who claim to have analytical skill, are arguing whether nacho was poor or not yesterday.. Wow..

Mhen mancity totally outclass Leicester, how many times where lecieister city able to hold possession, that will enable them transit from defense to midfield to attack.. Or was iheanacho supposed to carry the ball from defense to attack all by himself and score?.. Ahhh..

Well Leicester didn't hold possession, and couldn't provide any quality play, the only time iheanacho was able to get the ball, he showed class and quality... That should be used to judge him, if the time iheanacho had the ball he was poor, then you can throw the shades at him, but he was excellent and incisive when he was with the ball..

Sometimes , in this thread , people who support iheanacho are made to seem like the emotional ones, but those who critize, when it is needless, are equally emotional, or even more..

Thesupernerd, I respect your analytical skill on that match, and iheanacho in that game...respect baba

Nobody is even harping much about Ndidi.... That lad had a fine game yesterday despite the heavy loss. Can't we just talk about that rather than about a guy who only came on later in the second half? Like seriously? cheesy

Let us analyse Ndidi... He is even the one closest among his Super Eagles young generation peers to becoming World class soon enough... It is the bloody truth.

I have already began the talk on Ndidi.... I talked briefly on his performance yesterday in one of my posts. Let it be about Ndidi biko.... Afterall, Nacho is not even an assured Starter in Russia depending on Rohr's formation and tactics for each game. But Ndidi will more than likely be a starter for every game in Russia.

Haba! Be fair to Ndidi... Lad is growing better and getting more monstrous with each passing game and all you wanna do is still stay on Nacho man talk. Abegiiiii.... Ndidi deserves the spotlight too.

Liverpool are even rumored to be contemplating a move for Ndidi in the summer for rhe CDM position... Coz Naby Keita will play CM or box-to-box CM depending on Klopp...

Ndidi is Nigeria's next bonafide entrant into the world class realm.... Stay on him more right now and not Nacho. Ndidi had a full 90 yesterday for God's sake!

Funny how I read really childish and obviously misdirected comments on Diabate threatening Iheanacho.

I already knew Puel will make the football choice overall by not starting Nacho. I just knew it. I also knew his reasons for starting anyone behind Vardy or just off Vardy in Okazaki fragements' absence will be tactical.

He picked Diabate because he is faster and feels he can press the man city defenders more... But sadly, Diabate was lost. He offered little to nothing and had no creativity to his game when he had the ball. Puel then made the change to bring in Simpson and revet to a four man defence. That way they had Ndidi and James in the middle with Silva off.
They also had Chillwell on the left, Albright on thru the middle and Diabate back to the right....

Biko... If Diabate was truly brought in as Nacho's direct competition, then why take him to the right after bringing in Danny Simpson at RB? Leave him in the center naa... Push Albrighton to the right... Yes after all Mahrez is left footed and plays front the right (even though he too can play from the left).

The formation after Simpson's entrsce changed to Vardy up top (as usual), Albright on behind Vardy, Diabate on the right, Chillwell on the left...

But Puel saw that this was not working... Albrighton was lost playing behind Vardy. I know Man City bossed possession so much that Vardy even grew frustrated at a time but Albrighton didn't even do anything nice ehen he had the ball in opposition areas.

Diabate too was struggling against a Zinchenko....

Puel then decided to make the only last two subs I knew he will make. To bring in Mahrez and Iheanacho.

Mahrez came in for Diabate to take up his place om the right.... Then Iheanacho came in for Chillwell but not to play from the left of attack but to play thru the center behind Vardy and push Albrighton to the left (his pre-dominantly normal position).

Why didn't Puel just take off Chillwell and bring in Mahrez so as to push Diabate into a central role behind Vardy with Mahrez on the right and Albrighton back on the left, since according to some, Diabate competes with Nacho even in that no.8 role? Lolll... Question. If Diabate was capable of producing even a moment of ingenuity in that central role behind Vardy in a 4-4-1-1/4-4-2, Puel certainly would have left him to shift into that role with Mahrez being his only other intro on the right orrrrrrr... He could have gone with Mahrez centrally and Diabate on the right. But he did not... He opted for the creativity that both Mahrez and Iheanacho on-field together will bring to the plate even though Man City were practically coasting to victory and being so dominant in possession (and making it it count so clinically).

Immediately after Nacho's and Mahrez's introduction, Pep made the wise decision of countering that potentially dangerous combo brought in by Puel, by brining in a physical Danilo for Zinchenko to help the defence of Laporte and otamendi (John Stones came in much later) to battle the new threats of Mahrez and Iheanacho.

Man city starved Leicester so ruthlessly of the ball and Nacho didn't get his leg on a ball for a full five mins or so after he came on. Mahrez had touched it but he was immediately dispossessed.

But when Nacho finally got the ball, he produced a moment of magic. He found Vardy beautifully with an unexpected pass from the right channel of attack to the dege if the box which forced a spilled save at the box's edge from the onrushing Ederson..... That was just ingenious from Nacho and again points to the power of his Vision.

Nacho didn't see much of the ball no thanks to Man City making sure that Leicester didn't have a sniff so as to avoid getting the likes of Nacho or Mahrez on the ball and doing some

He didnt see much of the ball but the few times he had the ball, he was dangerous.
Vardy even had to kick out at Laporte to vent his frustration at the way Man City were just toying with Leicester in real class possession football.

So all this talk of Macho this and Macho that is really childish I must say. As if he is also the resosn Leicester lost again abi?

Even a moniker here called Drklever made a very funny prophetic comment.... Something like this...

"Let Puel not bring in Nacho when Leicester is down and out ooo as if expecting him to change it all by himself"

Funny enough Piep did bring in Nacho after realising his mistake of destroying the 3-5-2 he started with which fetched them that 1-1 first half... And decided to revert to a four man defence and make his midfield one man less by taking out Adrien Silva who is their most assured ball passer.

Some people just want a piece of Nacho even ehen he has nothing to do with a result. Leicester lost because of the coach... Puel caused this massacre.

I felt most for Ndidi.... That guy will be world class in the not-so-dustant future... He was everywhere tackling, hassling, winning balls and showing Ageuro who is boss in a man-to-man physical tussle for the ball... Ndidi is a boss midfielder in the making. He also shackled that wicked man called De Bruyne a few times (the guy still bagged three assists ooo... Wckrd brains he is). Ndidi's stats and showing was really impressive and rhe loss only did injustice to his performance.....

It is okay. This is man city after all... Champions of England in the making. They have blown away everyone with Pep showing his class once again. So make dem no to vex for the loss. But Puel shot himself in the foot by altering his 3-5-2 which held back Man City for a good 45 mins bar that one goal. Puel needs to check himself. Finito.

Your analysis of the game is top notch!!
But I don't think anybody here was blaming Nacho for the loss . What started an argument here was because Nacho didn't start.. And like u said,Puel tactics worked a bit in the first half . if Nacho had started, it might have been worse for him.... Man city are the most in form team in the EPL and perhaps the whole of Europe at the moment so it was only natural for Puel to start the game with players who would add more defensively...

And lastly, all this pro Nacho fans need to calm down.. its disgusting how they term almost everybody that criticise nacho as an hater... Nacho isn't the only player that has been criticised on this thread, yet he has the most supporters....

I think you are right. You cannot start a game except if you have 11 players.

I recall a friendly between Ghana and Zambia some time ago. Zambia had only 9 players. They had to search for Zambians anywhere in London. They were able to secure 3 Zambian students. 2 of them started the game while 1 was on the bench.

Zambia lost that game 4:0.

So I think you must start the game with 11 players else its a walk-over.

see the rule here:

“If a player slides to challenge the ball
and he exposes his studs, it’s a yellow
card regardless of whether he wins the
ball; if he doesn’t win the ball and
connects with the opponent it’s a red
card; if he exposes the stud above the
ankle it’s an automatic yellow card
regardless of intent; if he exposes the
stud above the knee it’s an automatic red
card,”

Question time:
1) Matuidi's studs were at which level? Ankle level.

2) Was he sliding? No

3) According to the rule book, since he was not sliding and clearly went for the ball although he ended up catching his man on the ankle is it a red card? Absolutely not.

This is the rule that governs football so I do not know the argument here at all.

Dangerous play over aggressive, I am being a bit biased and I have seen red cards for less.

FABULOUS teenager getting a start in goal is very hard to come by. He must have clear cut outstanding ability, this is La Liga. Not just potential but ability, Seedorf is a quality astute manager and player. And if he puts him in goal then this kid is quality.

Most of our senior goalkeepers if not all are currently far from that level.

Any body who wanna talk on Ndidi should do so because last time I checked, the attack of the Super Eagles is not the only dept of out team. Good thing we have been on the Goalie issue for a while now too.

I also notice we no dey talk much about fullbacks issues... Loolll... Competition don dey now abi. How time flies... But we should still discuss the competition in those roles and who stands a chance too... Bring up stats, bring up observations that will help our team and.... Nacho this, nacho that... They just won't let this boy rest. Super Eagles' most lethal scorer right now. Lol... It is well shaa
nacho is the most intelligent super eagles striker of all time!, with an incredible left foot from above!. That lad Gonna light up russia.

Let me help you.

First of all, Sheyi Ojo didn't start his career at Liverpool. Fact

He worked his way from Milton_Keynes_Dons_F.C U13 to the first team as a 13 years old boy. Meaning at 13, Sheyi Ojo was already training with players older than him and in league 1. It was due to this reason many big clubs in 'Europe' fought hard to buy him and eventually Liverpool paid millions to make him the most expensive player bought at the age of 14. The record still stands till date.

So, you are are wrong to have claimed he started at Liverpool.

The boy was too good that at 15 he was already playing with Jordan Ibe in the Liverpool under 18 rank and England under 17 national team. At 17 he was consistent and regular with the Liverpool under 21.

That was the reason it was imperative to loan him out to he Championship since he outgrown the Liverpool ranks at 17 and was already integrated into the first team at 17. Yes, he was already making the bench and traveling with Liverpool for UEFA Champions League at age.

http://www.empireofthekop.com/2014/12/28/five-things-need-know-sheyi-ojo-twitter-rumours-suggest-17-year-old-start-v-swansea/amp/

At 18, he was was a starter in the Championship. Do you know what that means?

The next season, he was recalled from loan and drafted into Liverpool's first team. We saw how he made his impact felt in 11 games for Liverpool with 4 assists and a goal before back injury hindered his progress the next season which was last season.

He was out for months last season and by the time he came back, Liverpool already filled his place with another player. He was part of Liverpool last season but injury and fitness no gree and play though he played in the FA cup.

Injury hinder his progress, Mr sabi pass.

So, what made Sheyi Ojo made the Liverpool first team? Na play abi..

I know everybody is lazy in your eyes while you are the most hard working human being in the world. Even if you carry shit, you deem yourself hard working than multi millionaire business man. Na ya way be dat. grin

Do you think, no team in the EPL wanted to buy him? grin

By the way, no bi for here some people dey pray make Iheanacho go manage play for championship? shocked grin

Ask them why?

Mr man, Newcastle-united and Burnley wanted to buy him out rightly but Liverpool are not willing to sell. EOD

'Newcastle were also in contention, but they were willing to buy the player rather than loan - something that runs counter to Liverpool plans'.

Premier League side Newcastle United and Burnley are interested in the signature of Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo this summer.

About, Iheanacho working hard at the U17, bro wey sabi football, Sheyi Ojo won the U20 World Cup last year. Olodo. grin

Seyi was bought from MK Dons at the age of 14 for £1.8 million probably the most expensive 14 year old in English football history.

His Dad is his agent so he has been laughing all the way to the bank.

Newcastle put in bid in excess of £10 million Liverpool declined.

We have succeeded in creating a sickening mental framework around Iheanacho and 90% of what being said has nothing to do with the young man but only depicts us the posters for who we are.

grin grin you see me as I no dey talk am again bah?

But where I have an issue is when people start tagging you an automatic hater in any debate you enter. If na Nacho debate we dey, tag me a hater and I will tag you a fanboy and laugh about it and move on, but just because I said a tackle like Onazi's own may not always be a red card offence I am now tagged a SE hater. Normally I wouldn't expect anything less from theGoodJoe but even Icon4s is part of the crusade now. I do not mince words one bit, so Icon4s, you really really disappointed me there. I was arguing entirely on the instance and somehow you brought in the fact that it was Onazi and that was the only reason why I was talking which was purely false, even BascoVanVielli who always argues for Onazi got the point and I want to believe that tbaba1234 got the idea too because he alligned his points with the instance and not the player.

My man you don't need to be tired for some people cos they asked simple question about fixtures of Nigeria teams representing them at CAF competitions.

If you cannot watch it others will do and doesn't mean they don't know football or they don't know what they are doing,so let them continue watching it.

We cannot have the same attitudes towards Nigeria club sides, so those who are passionate about the teams, pls leave them and let them be watching it like that,it's our own and the league must grow so that our national teams would always come out stronger.

I.know you watched naught football Leicester played yesterday just in the name of foreign clubs, pls let's continue supporting our own even if you are tired but those that are not tired should be encourage not discouraged.
you're talking as if...I am stopping you and others from watching it...

I have no right over your televisions or what you intend do wit your spare time...you've no right to chide me over my opinion.

my response was directed at someone else comment.

Why is iheanacho not starting for Leicester? Diabate has taken his place. Seems to me we've been hyping him all along thinking he'd come good at some point. My optimism about him becoming a better footballer is beginning to shrivel honestly

If you go back in time I made it intrinsically clear that KC new competition was not Vardy but Diabate. I was called a HATER bad belle and biased as well as unpatriotic.

My comments are not based on my preference but from my understanding of the club ethos and after watching Diabate play, I knew then KC had a battle on his hands.

Meanwhile some were celebrating that Okazaki was injured and road was free for KC.

When you are a fan you are emotive not objective. You do not look at things holistically and consider team dynamics and club ethos.
