ChuksEbube: Why annoyed over someone's application bro? You can give an advice and it's up to people to do their thing. One year programs is not automatic denial if you show and do the needful. There are some masters program that are only one year. 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Frankrobbn1: 11:48pm On Feb 11, 2018 |
adexyz91: adexyz91, Generally the chances of getting a study permit application approved with a year program is usually Slim but not impossible. Reasons because the Visa officer sees such applicant as not a genuine student, who will complete the course of study in Canada and would depart at the end of the authorized stay and they also believe that such applicants are using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada. It will be best you secure admission for a 2 years program and reapply OR If you think you can convince the visa officer then go ahead and provide a rational explanation to why you opted out for this course. All the best! |

jnyuwa02: jnyuwa02, She's talking about her mother(sponspor) personal savings account not hers and you advised her to add it to her application?? Knowing fully how cic operates, they might think that the account is the primary proof of funds to the applicant. Okay! I have said mine. 3 Likes |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by jnyuwa02: 12:10am On Feb 12, 2018 |
Frankrobbn1: Add as many bank statements as possible to show amount of money available to you is a good rule of thumb. CIC is not a fool if you point them to your primary source of funding. Do so in the breakdown of your SOP in the subtopic of financial standing. |

Good morning house and thanx for your responses on this issue. I just read about 'dual intention' which gives room for both TRV and PR applications. Jpandjp1: |

Wrong info mate. Any program less than 6 months, the Principal applicant will have to apply for a tourist visa. ChuksEbube: 1 Like |

Hello. How do I calculate my present 3.85/5.0 CGPA to 4.0 grading system. The school in question requires 3.0/4.0 or 3.2/4.0 during the last two years. My CGPA during my last 2 years of study is 4.49/5.0. How do I also calculate my masters result that is in %. Thank u. |

bbclue: Perfectly okay sister. Shares documents/certificates, business investment, landed property etc...are documents use to show proof of personal assests, you must not have all. The documents you provided is sufficient. Make sure you draw the attention of the visa officer towards those documents on your SOP. |

Hi Everyone, Please I’d appreciate if my questions are actually answered. Thanks guys My uncle works with the government as a deputy director in an agency but doesn’t have any savings. I have about 12 million to Use but wanted to add him as a co sponsor, what do I do? Also.. is it wise to buy land to use a proof of ties and if yes.. must it have a C of O. Lastly please, must my sponsor be resident in Nigeria? Thank you! Mike. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Frankrobbn1: 4:10pm On Feb 12, 2018 |
ChuksEbube: Wrong information...... MISLEADING Please if you don't have answers to a particular question, kindly move on to questions you have relevant answers on. Thank you! andre99: Andre99 is correct you have to apply for a tourist/visitor Visa (The both are the same). While doing this, its very important to convince the visa officer that you're a genuine student and that you will leave at the end of your visit and not overstay your visa. Why are you going all the way from Nigeria to study a 2 months program, why can't you study this course in Nigeria, why Canada not Nigeria?, what are the benefits of this course after completion of studies in Canada?, Do you plan to use study permit as a means to abscond into Canada? Be guided properly Vibrant99. All the best. |

Frankrobbn1: Okay thanks sir.....I did explain it in my sop. ...but I just wrote Equity in business.....because the money in my company name is strictly for business only....and that will prompt me to come back home after study....I didn't print bank statement. .....since am using my Aunt as sponsored |

1.Please can your brother and sister sponsor u ( can u have more than one sponsor?) 2. Please, can a 32yrs old apply for undergraduate?. ...I finished secondary school in 2001, I was 13/14yrs and stayed at home for 4yrs until 2005, in 2005 I did ND and since 2007, I have been working in the family business(Car dealers) but now I want to upgrade myself becos I have been promised to be moved to the Director of the company if I upgrade myself and I own a land (so I really do not intend to stay in Canada, I really just need a degree) |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Frankrobbn1: 7:11pm On Feb 12, 2018 |
bbclue: The funds are in your company name not yours. Go ahead and provide the shares certificates and the business investments you mentioned earlier. Why not print the company bank statement to support your claims? Even if your Aunt is your sponsor. 1 Like |

vibrant99:Study permit/visa is for program between 6months - infinity, so in your case you need tourist or visiting visa. Ask the institution how to go about it, but I know the application will be treated here in Nigeria and it will lesser time to process |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 7:29pm On Feb 12, 2018 |
ChuksEbube:That's not true, he needs a visiting visa or tourist visa. He needs study visa if the program is above 6months 1 Like |

Fustinachichi: Fustinachichi 1-) Yes your brother and sister can sponsor you. Yes! You can have more than one sponspor, preferably (2) two is okay. Your brother can stand as the main sponsor, while your sister stands as a co-sponsor to you.( Anyone can stand as the main sponsor, while the second as a co-sponsor.) 2-) Yes a 32 years old can apply and secure admission into a Canadian university. But the chances of securing a TRV (study visa) is extremely difficult(LOW) because you have to start explaining to the visa officer about your study gaps from 2001-2018........(17yrs) Sir/Ma, You have to answer the following questions and provide answers to them..... 1-) What have you been doing since 17 years ago? 2-)You have to convince the visa officer that your brain is still active to solve word problem leading to Simultaneous/Quadratic equation ( Arithmetic thinking and analytical skills )... Of course we all know that there are no age restrictions when it comes to studies.... But in case scenario like this you have to prove it. 3-) What made you not to complete a degree program in Nigeria, why going to Canada to spend so much, when you know you can get it here in Nigeria at affordable rate? 4-) Why do you think Canada is the best place for you to study? 5-) What happened to similar programs offered in Nigeria.? 6-) Do you think you can withstand the tests, research, Quiz, and exams in Canadian universities? Having stayed 17 years without such experience. If you provide answers to the above few questions a Visa officer will ask, then kick start the process. As for my advice : I suggest you stay back in Nigeria and complete your degree program while you further your masters in Canada. All the best! 2 Likes |

Fustinachichi: Age is no barrier to learning as long as you can show genuiness of your academic plans. I think the other day we saw a guy here approved who was 38 years old. He worked in the bank for over 10 year years after graduating college and was going for his MBA. It is very possible. Cover all gaps and more importantly show that you have been engaged in productive and meaningful engagements. Elucidate in an inspiring SOP what is making you go back to school at this age. Elucidate on why you cannot study the thing you plan to study in Nogeria here and have decided the difficult and more expensive route of going to Canada. If you inspire the VO enough with your reason of going back to school, you will cross over. 1 Like |

MichyEhi:First I will like to ask you a question. What is your uncle bringing to the table in your application? cos as a third party sponsor or co-sponsor he will have to show commitment by paying your tuition fee or pay g the said amount into your account. As for the land, if you can't get the C of O I will advise you use the receipt/change of ownership of the land and any other useful document to show proof. What about your family (parents and siblings )? cos they can also be use as home tie. You can use sponsor from any part of the world, all they need to do is show commitment and proof of funds |
