For clarification sake. Maduka Okoye is not playing in the Bundusliga fourth tier league though he only played twice there. He's currently playing in the Bundesliga's under 19 league which is at lowest bottom of German league system. I mean bottom. Not 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th....I mean bottom. .. Now, how is Maduka Okoye in a better place than Dele Alampasu who is the third goalkeeper with a team in a Portuguese-liga ATM? Note: I don't mind we cap Maduka Okoye or Maduka Okoye gets invitation ahead of Alampasu but I can't just waka pass wrong information. Thanks Snapshot showing the position of the league level Maduka Okoye plays in is displace on the left side of the screen. 2 Likes

Croatia Coach: We Must Beat Super Eagles, Argentina Our Easiest Game By Adeboye Amosu: Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic says his team’s first group game against Nigeria will determine how far they will go at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. With games against one of the tournament favourites Argentina and Iceland to come after the encounter against the Super Eagles, Dalic reckoned it is important to pick maximum points against the three-time African champions. “The first goal must be to qualify from the group. The first match against Nigeria will decide that, it is the key to everything for us in Russia,” Dalic stated during a lecture at the Split Hotel Duilovo in Zagreb on Tuesday. “Then against Argentina we can not look for much. It will be easiest game for us because we have nothing to lose. “The last game is against Iceland where everything will be decided.” Dalic further stated that his team will be ready to take on the rest of the world in Russia. “There is four months before the World Cup, there is still time, everything will be ready. We are monitoring all the players,” he added. “What’s most important is that all players are healthy and ready. If that is the case then we have no reason to worry.” https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/croatia-coach-must-beat-super-eagles-argentina-easiest-game/ |

Ezenwa Speaks On World Cup Foes: Croatia Game Is Key; Iceland Unknown But Dangerous; Argentina On Revenge Mission Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has run the rule over Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup group D opponents and reckons that though it is a difficult group but he’s sure of qualification for the Super Eagles because of the players’ determination to excel. “The World Cup is a very big deal. I have set my own targets for the competition and I’m sure this is true for the other players too. The sense of unity and discipline which we have now in the team, coupled with our individual targets, will propel us to success,” he began. Ezenwa, who captained the Home Eagles to a runners-up spot at the African Nations Championship in Morocco said he’s already looking forward to the World Cup even as he recuperates from the injury sustained against Sudan in the semi-finals which subsequently knocked him out of the CHAN final. In a television interview monitored in Lagos on Wednesday, the Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper expressed confidence that Nigeria will shock a lot of naysayers at the World Cup even if they do not have the competition pedigree of group rivals 1998 third-place finisher Croatia and two-time winner Argentina. Modric – Croatia “Our first game is against Croatia and, I must confess, they are a very good side. I take my time to watch their players in their different clubsides. I watch (Luka) Modric in Real Madrid, (Ivan) Rakitic who’s another great player in Barcelona. I also watch Mario Mandzukic and Ivan Perisic. I like to study the movement of their forward players on the ball. And, of course, I also study their goalkeeper (Danijel) Subasic. They have a very good team and its good that we are playing them first. That game will be key and we must do everything to win it,” he said. Next up for the Super Eagles will be debutants Iceland and Ezenwa reckons the fact they are largely unknown could make them very dangerous. Sigurdsson – Iceland He said: “Iceland are coming for the first time but they can be dangerous because not much is known about them. We however remember what they did at the Euro Championships in 2016. This means they have a very good squad. We just have to be careful and not underrate them. Hopefully, we would get a good result in the first game against Croatia and take the momentum into the second game against Iceland.” The final group game will be against 1978 and 1986 World Cup champions Argentina who have become a sort of recurring decimal for the Super Eagles with the two team facing each other five times in Nigeria’s six appearances at the World Cup. “We know Argentina’s pedigree and we know that they have always beaten Nigeria each time we meet at the World Cup. But we beat them 4-2 in that friendly in Russia last year and I’m sure that, beyond just the three points at stake, they will be boiling to avenge that loss. They are our final game and hopefully we would have qualified before we meet them but that does not mean we will roll on the ground for them. They have very accomplished players who are doing very well but I don’t want us to look down on our players too. We have guys who can give Argentina a good run and we shall certainly be ready.” The 29-year old shot-stopper also commended the friendly games lined up for the team which he reckons will aid adequate preparations for the World Cup. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/ezenwa-speaks-world-cup-foes-croatia-game-key-iceland-unknown-dangerous-argentina-revenge-mission/ 3 Likes 1 Share |

Brother: Mikel Keen To Lead Super Eagles To World Cup Semi-Finals By Adeboye Amosu Heartland goalkeeper Ebele Obi has backed his younger brother Mikel Obi to lead Nigeria to as far as the semi-finals at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Captain Mikel played a key role in Nigeria’s qualification for the global soccer fiesta, scoring two goals in the qualifiers. Much will be expected from the former Chelsea midfielder in Russia as the Super Eagles attempt to make history by becoming the first African country to make it to at least the semi-finals at the mundial. “Myself and my brother (Mikel) have spoken so much about the World Cup and he is determined to put up a show at the competition,” Ebele told CSN. “Winning the World Cup seems a tall order for African teams but he is keen to see the Super Eagles make to the semi-finals at least. ” The team is in good hands with Gernot Rohr in the saddle and we have the players to do the job too.” The Super Eagles will open their campaign on June 16 against Croatia at the Kaliningrad Stadium. The three-time African champions will then slug it out with Iceland at the Volgodrad Arena on June 22, and Argentina on June 26 at the Krestovsky Stadium, St Petersburg. When I was making the same case it seems no one listened. Ehen we fail as a house to condemn outrightly an insult or misdirected rant to one's parent(s) then we only open the window for more of such to occur. It is that simple. Someone here says we are only here to talk football and not sort out disputes and call people to order... looolll... but same person says he stands against insults and foul language and will speak against it. If we are only here to talk football without also taking a stand against people's parents being dragged into discussions and arguments then I wonder what sort of example we are setting for future engagements. It is well... this is what some sanctimonious folks wanna reduce the thread to by their hypocritical inactions and consistent refusal to speak against people's parents being dragged in or insulted. Anyway, My eyes on discussing the beautiful game. Anyone who wanna insult someone's parent sublty or openly can plss do so okay. And those who see this nonsense and won't say a word to correct it should also carry on. It happened to with my mom twice on this thread (last year and just several days ago) and now it is someone's father being dragged in. This is beautiful. When the right thing is not done, this is what you will get. Shalom nelszx: 2 Likes |

Croatia Based Nigerian Player Reveals – Croatia Respect Mikel But They Are Scared Of Ndidi HNK Rijeka of Croatia Nigerian forward Theophilus Solomon has given an insight on how Croatia are warming up for their World Cup 2018 group clash against Nigeria. Solomon who is presently out on loan to Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia from the Croatian side has been leaving in Croatia for four years, and he was there when the draws were made. Croatia are grouped alongside Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland in group D, and ahead of the first ever metting between both nations, Solomon has revealed how the Croatians view Nigeria. ” I was with some players of the Croatian national team when the draws were made and although they admit they are in a straight battle with Nigeria to qualify alongside Argentina. They are still confident of their chances”, Solomon told Owngoalnigeria.com. ” I listened to them talk about how Nigeria are unpredictable and some times unorganised in defence, but overall they agree that Nigeria have an attack that can wreck any team on a good day. ” Based on the fact that Croatia rely heavily on their key midfielders in Mateo Kovacic and Luka Modric, both of Real Madrid. Their emphasis was more on how the duo will function against Nigeria. ” Mikel Obi is one player they respect a lot in Croatia, but Wilfred Ndidi is the threat according to most of them. They feel he could be the reason why Modric and Kovacic click as a pair or not. They are really scared of Ndidi”. **Osas Mahawi Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2018/02/13/croatia-based-nigerian-player-reveals-croatia-respect-mikel-but-they-are-scared-of-ndidi/ Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 120 days 23mins to go 4 Likes |

MetalJigsaw: Ate you saying there is zero justification to say that he is not an good as was previously thought Players either improve upwards or they begin to diminish in thier performances. This is why they seek less competitive leagues where thier deficiencies will not be so pronounced. My view is that this actually quite young footballer only 25, Has been found to be not good enough for the EPL. Therefore is he among the best we have or can find |

I think with the appointment of our youth and cadet team coaches, we need to create new threads for them to follow up on news about them separately from the Super Eagles. Komekn, not that I could possibly convince you but his statement was mostly accurate. I know for a fact that Alex Iwobi (and most other black African players) receive a lot of craps from British pundits because they are Africans. Any mistakes that African players make, especially Nigerian players, are extrapolated. An Euro or English player can make the same mistakes without getting any negative reactions. Those of us who understand the game already know that you gotta take some of the commentaries you hear on TV or read in the British press with a big dose of salt, OK. Anytime Arsenal loses, it's always Iwobi this, Iwobi that while totally ignoring the craps they play there in defense Mustafa for instance can get away with murder ... same with Nacho Monreal, even Koscileny (sp). I am yet to see any game where Jack Wilshere performs better than Iwobi but he never gets called out for poor performance. And let me say this again, for sub-Saharan African, you gotta be twice as good as the Euro players to play. O pari komekn: 1 Like |

We are grown folks I assume.. if someone resorts to abusing my parents from football arguments, I see it as weakness on the person’s part. I will actually find it funny. Personally, I don’t get hurt by that.. “your papa” “your mama” — that’s what’s kids do. It doesn’t carry any weight. It’s childush to abuse one’s parent as well as to be so hurt when someone abuses ur parent. I wonder why u guys keep whining over this for days. We are adults. Are we this soft?
