"England unveiled their new kit on Wednesday ahead of the summer’s World Cup in Russia.

And just like the team under manager Gareth Southgate, sports manufacturer Nike have played it safe – and a little boring if the truth be told"

Thank you boss!!! you really exposed him by going back memory lane..
hats off to you

Kog45:
Sunday Olishe i knew had egoism issue, very arrogant, hghly temperamental and can go haywire anytime.

Sunday Olishe disciplinary record not too good,i remember he was suspended by his Club Bochum in Bundesliga for headbutt his teammate.

He had serious issue with Samson Siasia during training prior to Italy match and Siasia was axed from starting lineup but this led to a divide house cos some players were not happy with Westerhoff's decision for axing Siasia and left Olishe free.

This really affected the team spirits and contributed to our ouster in 2nd round cos Westerhoff refused to bring Siasia in after Amokachie got injured due to that incident.

He had issue with one of his teammate, may be Victor Okechukwu Agali during 2002 afcon, they needed to be separated by teammates.

Also had issue with honourable sports minister by walking the man out during afcon 2002,this singular act led to the disbandment of the team and was the genesis of our poor outing at 2002 WC.

He also had issue with former Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama forcing him to retire from the team and Emma Emenike too resigned from the team with speculations that he had issue with Olishe.

We just have to win that match. We cannot set small targets. This is not the easy group of 2014 where we started with a draw and still scaled through to the second round.

I think the list is premature. Based on our practice in the past, most of the preparation/qualifiers will be executed by home based players for obvious reasons. OGN of course needs to put out some news. No doubt we can be confident that we will qualify, and we can debate on the list for the 2019 U20 world cup now if we want to.

As regards the thread, I will always give my support/presence whenever it's created.

I think with the appointment of our youth and cadet team coaches, we need to create new threads for them to follow up on news about them separately from the Super Eagles. This has always been the trend... what do you suggest? Normally it is Joseph1013 who handles and creates all threads on our under age sides.... so what do you guys think? I am dropping this here because none ahead of the 2019 Tournaments have been created just yet.

please bro who is Paul aigbogun?
what are his achievements as a coach?
a square peg in a round hole...
I'II call it.

to be honest i don't think he merit this job
how he got the job ahead of other more qualified persons still a mystery....

I don't expect much from him at all....

I remember he got signed by enyimba after they refused to extend kadiri ikhana contract at enyimba despite a successful season where they won the league wit a whopping 70 points....only for paul to take them to abyss the following season....
that's much I could remember of him...

Throughout the World Cup qualifiers, the Super Eagles scored 12goals across 6matches averaging 2goals per match which is an impressive stat putting in mind the strength of the opponents they faced and going on to concede 4goals in total.

Of the 12goals scored, only 1 was scored via setpiece(corner kick) while the rest came from open play. The team conceded 4goals: 2 from open play and 2 from spotkick(resulting from avoidable goalkeeping errors). This has gone to show how strong our line of defence was against the top, strong and physical african sides.

With Rohr, looking forward to strengthen his defence and finding a reliable and permanent solution to the ever unconvincing goalkeeping department, I see the team putting off any forms of attack from the open play.

In the light of this, Eagles opponents might have to exploit other means to break the Eagles' wall and get the desired points/results. One of these means will definitely be SET-PIECES.

Eagles' group stage opponents Croatia, Iceland and Argentina all boast of world class and deadly dead ball specialists. These opponents, might decide to draw fouls out of our boys in dangerous areas to capitalise on our team's weakness-SET PIECE DEFENDING.

There is therefore need for us to settle and fix our inabilities to convert and defend setpieces before
we kick the first ball at the mundial.

A very good left and right setpiece takers who have the ability of weeping deadly balls into the 18yard boxes from left and right sides of the pitch. These players should be our notable takers in the upcoming friendlies so as to enable them to master the act before World cup proper.

*my suggestions*

My man is not about hype,Dele Ali is damn good.I was in your shoe before thinking the guy was over hype but later realized that the guy worth it.

I know what you expect is Dele Ali that do the flicks, dribble two three players on a row, show classical movement, No Ali that i later know is a simple footballer who understand the game very well,he was well schooled about the game.He knows when to dribble, when to pass and when to run into space,so he delivered most of the time.

It takes third eyes or those who really understand the rudiments of modern day football to appreciate Ali but sometimes his performance is confusing, like yesterday match he did what coach expected him to do.

I think Real Madrid fans will never forget him,he made football so simple and does his things with ease.
well maybe i need to watch more of his games.
but judging by what i saw yesterday, i saw a player who lacked ideas.

Can we say National team boost the career of players?

Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi would 'walk straight into Liverpool's side', says Etim Esin

Ndidi has garnered many admirers since joining Leicester from Genk last January.

Rhodri Cannon By Rhod Cannon

February 14, 2018 15:40 GMT
00:44

Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi would have no trouble establishing himself in Liverpool's starting line-up according to former Nigeria international Etim Esin, who thinks his compatriot is deserving of a move to a club of the Reds' stature due to his fine performances for the former Premier League champions.

Ndidi has developed into one of the most effective box-to-box central midfielders in the Premier League since joining from Leicester from Belgian outfit Genk last January, and the 21-year-old's displays have predictably led to links with some of England's bigger clubs.

Ndidi rejected an offer from Arsenal last year, according to The Telegraph, while a report from Nigerian publication The New Telegraph, relayed by The Liverpool Echo, claims that Jurgen Klopp's side are ready to spend €75m (£54.2m) on the 14-time Nigeria international, who is primed to be the driving force for his country's World Cup campaign in Russia this summer.

Klopp is already preparing to welcome Naby Keita from RB Leipzig in the summer and has a number of central midfield options already available to him at Anfield. But Esin, a former attacking midfielder who enjoyed stints in Belgium and Turkey during his playing career, is certain Ndidi would quickly establish himself in Liverpool's first-team set-up and will only increase in stature and cost if he manages to perform well at the World Cup.

"I can't remember the last time we had a Nigerian in Liverpool apart from Victor Moses' brief stint there. This is going to be a fantastic move for him and I think his transfer fee is likely going to go up because it could happen shortly after the World Cup," Esin told Sportline.

"Ndidi has been doing well at Leicester; he is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League now and should command that kind of transfer.

"I don't think he will struggle at Liverpool, he is a player made for big club like that and with the role he plays, there is no way he will be sitting on the bench there.

"He's certainly not going to be like Kelechi iheanacho who moved to Leicester to become an option to Jamie Vardy; I see Ndidi walking straight into that Liverpool side."

It remains to be seen if Liverpool actually pursue a deal for Ndidi in the summer, but they may need to supplement their engine room with a commanding holding midfielder if Emre Can leaves on a free transfer at the end of the season. The Merseysiders have failed to tie the Germany international down to fresh terms and could lose him to Juventus, who have not been afraid to publicise their pursuit of the former Bayer Leverkusen starlet.

John Obi Mikel
Eddy Onazi, and
W. Ndidi

In that particular order....

#Russia2018: Beware of Croatia’s Magical Luca Modric, Oliseh Warns Eagles

A former Nigeria coach, Sunday Oliseh has advised the Super Eagles to device an effective match strategy that will effectively cage Croatia’s midfielder maestro, Luca Modric in their first Group game at the World Cup in the summer in Russia.

Nigeria and Croatia will clash at the Kaliningrad stadium on June 16 and both teams would go into the match looking to make a good start in the group campaign which also includes former champions, Argentina and Iceland.

Oliseh, who coached Nigeria for eight months before quitting the job said Nigeria can do well at the World Cup, despite being drawn into a tough group, but must not rely on individual talent if they want to advance past the first round.

Describing the Real Madrid attacking midfielder as a skillful and dangerous, Oliseh said: “If you face a team like Croatia, who have Luka Modric, then you have a lot of work cut out for you in the midfield.

He said that keeping Modric in check would minimize ball supplies to the Croatian forwards who are very good.

Arsenal Coach Bozovic: Leicester's Musa Will Play An Important Role For CSKA
Coach of Russian Premier League club Arsenal Tula, Miodrag Bozovic, is tipping Ahmed Musa to be a big hit for CSKA Moscow on his second return to the club.

The Nigeria international made his second competitive debut for CSKA Moscow on Tuesday as they were held to a goalless draw by Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.

''Musa quickly integrated into the game of CSKA. Still, the team is familiar to him,'' said Bozovic to championat.com.

''There was a misunderstanding with Vitinho when he got in the back of the Brazilian. But it happens. I think Musa will play an important role for CSKA. This player's class is felt.''

Musa, wearing the number seven jersey, went the distance against Red Star Belgrade and played two shots with one key pass.

The 25-year-old scored 54 goals for the Muscovites in his first spell with the club before transferring to Leicester City in the summer of 2016.

Nice 1 but Isco over ascensio for me but de Bruyne over pogba anyday,Dele alli is a good player but nothing special.

Moses have not really impress me wit the few ones he has been left wit...
So your pick for penalty kicks is Victor Moses-I think that's a fair one.

Victor's ball deliveries most especially crosses are poor. But I think he can be work on. His deliveries against Cameroon in Uyo are testament to this. One from the corner kick lead to a goal. The direct free kicks he took that day weren't that bad as one hit the target though the resultant goal was over turned.

A bit of extra training should put him in shape.

That's a very good point you raised there, AIG. Any good counter attack team must be deadly at set pieces. Right now, I will pick:

VicMo
KC Iheanacho
John Obi Mikel
Eddy Onazi, and
W. Ndidi

In that particular order....

O pari

Good names you've reeled out there.

I'm in support of your choice of Mikel. His ability will come handful for 35-40yards and above distances.

But that Onazi is a no no for me. I won't even like to see him stand near our dead balls either far away in our own half or near our opponent's goal,

*who is/are your pick for the pens?*

Please don't use the adulthood card to evade something that is so obvious. It is not childish pointing out a wrong and it is also not whining. If you choose to call it that, that is your problem, not mine. So if you won't feel bad when someone calls out or insults your mom, then fine, you are Mr strong. But it is dirty and wrong to do so especially on this thread known for not involving our parents in insults until just last year.... and now it has repeated itself twice this year. It is a wonder how you can comfortably call that whining and being soft.

Anyway... it is your thought. For me, It is not right and I even called out the latest culprit on it and I know he listened. Case closed on that one.

Now let's talk more football because I will not appreciate another mention or quote on this issue since some here don't mind at all that parents are being insulted and then expect us to stomach it without correcting or addressing it. Our actions now lay down the marker for rules of engagement in discussions tomorrow. Enough said. No more on this please. Thank you.

We are grown folks I assume.. if someone resorts to abusing my parents from football arguments, I see it as weakness on the person’s part. I will actually find it funny. Personally, I don’t get hurt by that.. “your papa” “your mama” — that’s what’s kids do. It doesn’t carry any weight. It’s childush to abuse one’s parent as well as to be so hurt when someone abuses ur parent. I wonder why u guys keep whining over this for days. We are adults. Are we this soft?

CSKA Moscow is not a small club either. The Russian league is one of the top in Europe. And Musa is not the first and only highly rated player to have a gloomy spell in England ( And he played for not more than one club)

Yes you are right.

Falcao was appointed almost at the point of a mental break down when he was at United. He has left and us now the top toast of the French league.

That is a reflection on how competitive the EPL is and unforgiving of strikers who are not up to par.

Oliseh is the Nigerian Marco Bielsa. Two crazy people with poor man management skills. He'll never get a top job if he keeps behaving like this

But I'll definitely keep an eye out for him and be objective.

An extract.

As Tottenham stared into the abyss, their manager stared out on to the pitch at his players in front of him. You can only assume he was looking among them for a character to emerge to become their saviour — and in Dele he found it.

In turn, this pushed a downbeat Tottenham team 10 yards further upfield causing the Italians to put out the cigars they had just lit.

If you watch the match again you will notice every movement Dele made with the ball in those telling 10 minutes after his team went 2-0 down was a forward one.

There is still much debate about whether he is best as a No10 or a No8. What is certain is that Dele is at his best in attacking moves.

And we saw this as he got Pochettino’s men playing again as they went in search of a way back into this tie.

Suddenly all of the flicks and passes that were either scuffed or went astray earlier in the campaign when Dele’s form was on the floor, were now coming off.

The star’s chest was pumped again, his shoulders broad once more.

Big nights at big arenas – like the magnificent Juventus Stadium – are meant for big players.

And Dele showed he is one of those, even though his team had suffered two big blows early doors.
