i went to uae embassy this morning.they still told us that stamp must show on the photo at the back of the biometric page.so they us sent to police hq to verify our pcc. it turns out so many people were holding fake certificates and they didnt know.

lessons
1. make sure they stamp everywhere they are supposed to stamp and very clearly
2.make sure you have the number officer that did it for you make sure the officer fill and sign the bottom of the pcc(name/rank/signature..).
3.make sure it is not fake,to avoid doing it again

boss please I’m in uae and my brother will collect the form for me tomorrow,from the state cid.the question now is if he scans the form to me can I thumb print and scan it back for them to continue with the process or I have to do it in the uae?i don’t really understand the pcc stuff,I’ll be glad if you can enlighten me.

I’m in uae already.i would have gone to the embassy here as just4jesus said but a friend went and they collected worth of 20k naira &gave him the form he did the thumb print and was told to send to Nigeria so I guess dey only do half job.

PCC means Police Character Clearance. And yes it is compulsory for anyone that wants to do a work/resident permit in the UAE. If you are just a visitor, without any intention of becoming a resident...it is not required.

Well, To some extent....the two is now required to be attested to. Anyone that did only the certificate and not the biometric part previously will still be asked to go do the attestation. On the plus side for them....they can do it at MOFAIC in UAE there for almost the same amount of money. Provided that biometric pages carries Ministry of Foreign Affairs(Nigeria) Authentication. If not...OYO. You will have to DHL it back to Nigeria to do it. The lucky ones are the ones that go thru the stress of doing the two right now.

Pcc - police character certificate
its not compulsory if you are going to uae for tourism,but its compulsory if you are going to look for job,because without it they can't apply for employment visa for you

They won't collect scanned copy from you , but if the person collect form for you,they can send it thru dhl ,take it to the nearest police station there to do your biometrics,now send it back to nigeria so they can do pcc for you(because it is only one kind of pcc they recognize,people that brought other types of pcc were sent back).if you already get an employment offer talk to your company about it so that you can come to do it yourself,i met like 3 guys at d embassy yesterday,they came back from uae to do it ,one of them told me ,his company has promised him that any amount he spends will be paid back to him

This PCC stuff....biko, is it use to run employment visa or work/resident permit? my agent processing employment visa for me have not requested for it. Though I have done it and planning to go attest it next week hopefully before my visa comes out as he(agent) said.

It is the Ministry of Interior decision not your employer's decision. So if your employer only collects only the PCC certificate from you, they can be told to ask for the biometric part as well. So you are at the mercy of the staff and policies of the Ministry of Interior Affairs.

You can ask the embassy. And the Ministry of Interior.

You don't need to believe me. Just go confirm at the UAE embassy in Nigeria or Ministry of Interior in UAE. Not a big deal.

I am really sorry if I came out sounding angry. I didn't mean to. I just wanted to push the message out myself so that people will know. The biometric data page was not necessary before and depending on who files for it....still not necessary. It is just that....going forward it will/may be asked.

You can do the finger printing and scan it back to your brother in Nigeria to help you complete the process and get attested while he can DHL the complete package to you. This pcc stuff is cumbersome as people take it. In fact, there is a website to get the finger print form but I can't place my hand on it now. This is a technology age. The world is a global village. Go ahead with your process and everything will be fine. Best of luck
