A lot will be happening in the coming week as this will give the school time to prepare for E-exam so note the following

The TMA that are left maybe loaded please take your time to check your TMAs even if you are done

On CIT101 i will just let you know that there is nothing you can do about it, it either the school load it or change it automatically if the rumor we heard about it changed to CIT104 is true

Please note the 3RD draft TIMETABLE is out download it and get prepared or maybe wait patiently for the FINAL TIME TABLE (No difference)

Get all necessary document ready for exam the school will have sometime to attend to you as from next week

Please someone should offer me a help or advice.
I was suppose to write 1ct841(mbf841) on the 10th of feb but two days to the exam the TMA wasnt updated so i sent a mail to the authority incharge because i was worried, I got a reply from them that the course is not going to be examined this semester and that it's no longer on the latest pop timetable which I later checked it was true.
My problem now is that the TMA for the course is out and pop has ended. What's going on?

WHO OWNS THE CERTIFICATE?

Who owns the certificate issued to you after your study period? Well, I know you think you own it but the certificate issued to you after a period of study is actually not your property. I know that probably jolted you. You are wondering what I meant by that statement. How can the certificate which bears your name not be your property?

The truth is that a certificate remains the property of the issuing institution. Swallow that bitter pill once and for all. The university or any other legally recognized institution that issued it to you remains the rightful owner of the certificate, not you. On one of my certificates, ‘This certificate remains the property of ABWA’ is clearly written on it. ABWA stands for The Association of Accountancy Bodies in West Africa (ABWA). I have the possession of the certificate but ABWA has the ownership.

What many people do not know is that the end product (a certificate) of a learning process which they focus on does not belong to them. After going through the academic or professional education system, whatever you learned and understood during the study period is your property and not the certificate. The knowledge is what is yours. The certificate the issuing institution gave you is only to say that you have learnt so and so thing. The paper is not yours.

A university has the right to revoke a certificate issued to a graduate years ago. It can recall the certificate from whoever it was issued to if the issuing authority has a valid reason to do this. What it cannot do is to open your mind and pack out what you learnt while in the university. Your take-away from the university is the knowledge you were able to pack out of it and the additions you made to yourself in making yourself a complete being.

Certificates are on lease to whoever holds them. That is why professionals pay for the use of their certificates in the corporate world. They pay the issuing institution membership fees because the institution issued them a meal ticket which is the certificate. It aids them to put food on their table, they pay for it, among other benefits they derive from the institute. They can revoke it if a member breached their rules. This is why a medical doctor’s practising certificate can be revoked if he misbehaves.

Today, people say certificates are useless. Well, I argue in a different way. I think they are not useless but they are used less today. Read that line again. Certificates are used less today and not useless because of the changing trends. People can be sure of a means of livelihood today without necessarily having certificates. Yet, this does not make certificates useless. Certificates still play their important roles. I do not think you will want a ‘medical doctor’ whom you heard was sent out of medical school to even inject you, not to talk of allowing him to use some surgery knives and cutlasses on your child. You will rather remain ill than to allow an uncertified doctor work on you.

In my opinion, the sustained criticism of certificates is usually by four sets of people. They are:
• Those who made an attempt to get a certification but could not but who now found relevance elsewhere.
• Those who didn’t make the attempt to get a certification but who end up finding relevance without certificates.
• Those who made an attempt and got certified but who do not practise what they got certified in.
• Those who got certified but now agree that certification is not all that there is to being relevant.

Every one of these sets of people above have their arguments to make but the point I hope to drive home in this piece is that, students should focus on learning rather than on certificates. They should enjoy the process rather than looking more at the end product. As decayed as our educational system is, many countless people are coming out of it refined. The wise learn to build a system of leverage while the unwise pursue certificates only.

How To Excellently Pass E-exam in 3 Simple Ways

It is no longer news that E-exam starts this week. A failure to prepare well is the beginning of failure itself. So I succinctly provide you with 3 simple ways to have a fully prepared mind and body for the exam.

1.Get hardcopy (print out) of your tma and read thoroughly.

2. Use the tma as a guide to read your materials. Don't depend solely on your tma. It could be dangerous.

3. Study the past questions/preparatory questions of your courses. This is, of course, one of the best ways to see how well and far you have read. I

With these simple and doable ways, you can be assured of doing excellently well in your exams.

You can get e-exam past questions and tma from Kazrem.
