Onijagidijagan:Igbo men r afraid of marrying yoruba women bc of their infidility in marriage. Most yoruba married men and women keep relationship out and it is not a taboo but in igboland it is a taboo.Even if a member of the husband's family get to know the woman will be in trouble. |

letusbepieces: Oh my! It's not that serious. All the Igbos I knew in Lagos spoke Yoruba better than some of the full-blooded Yoruba kids there. I don't know why you're so upset about this attempt to preserve heritage. I don't think this will curtail anyone's rights. Those Lagosian Igbo kids that want to go to Lagos state universities won't be discriminated against. When I joined Nairaland, we were "N.gba.ti" people. Then we were "Ofe.ma.nu" oily soup people. Now we're "Afonja." No shaking. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

sharpsecret:Carry your more say go to ICC or state house. Your ranting, gnashing of teeth, wailing and pains are not recognized here. You have been on nairaland wailing uncontrollably since the law has been signed but you couldn't do a shit. I thought you would have led a protest to the state house, Abuja n international criminal court since. But I am dissapointed you only rant here for. your enclaves and run back to swallow your smelly akpu after. So you even sleep, you should be having a sleepless night on it na 3 Likes 1 Share

yoruba once again trying to impose their language on others. This guy is funny. Yorubas did not force theit language on Ile-Ibinu. The language of any royal court is the language of its royal family, meaning once the sons of Oduduwa became your Obas, the natural order of things had to follow. This is life. 3 Likes 1 Share |

They have started another policy again that may set NIgeria back ,by the time other regions retaliate . That was how awolowo introduced tribalism into Nigeria and set a chain of retrogression that we have not recovered from. I expect other regions to retaliate in double foldwhen they get to know. The oil States for example could simply ban yorubas from working in the oil sector. I am sure the yorubas will later accuse them of tribalism when the consequences begin. It is not who begins a fight that wins. 2 Likes |

[s] CSTR2:[/s]We have oil in our states, we have bitumen, lagos oil is booming. Let start banning ourselves, that will be a welcome development. If this law to preserve our heritage is what is giving you people sleepless night. Then get ready for more pains, cos more n more are coming. 3 Likes 1 Share |

LaudableXX: WE WERE ALL NIGERIANS BEFORE YORUBA INTRODUCED TRIBALISM AND THE HAUSA ISLAMISED BIGOTRY. DO I NEED TO REMIND YOU THAT OJUKWU HIMSELF AND HIS FATHER WERE PROUD NIGERIANS THAT MADE MORE VALID CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS COUNTRY THAT ARE VISIBLE, THAN THE BIGOTRY YORUBAS KEEP INSTITUTIONALIZING AND SPREADING? NIGERIA STOCK EXCHANGE WAS THE BRAIN CHILD OF SIR LOUIS OJUKWU. HIS SON CHUKWUEMEKA OJUKWU WAS THE FIRST CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY GRADUATE TO JOIN THE NIGERIA ARMY. WAT MORE DO U PEOPLE WANT FROM US IGBOS, EVEN AFTER DRINKING THE BLOOD OF THREE MILLION IGBOS. WAT MORE DO U PEOPLE WANT?

hammer6F: I am sure if you hang around long enough, those Yoruba people would come in here to give you a befitting response to the puerile epistle you typed in this post. So your own people are angels who have never displayed any bigotry or tribalism or ethnocentricity? Ever heard of the Okechukwu Ikejiani saga in the '60s? Or the Eni-Njoku Saga in Unilag and the lopsided appointments he made in the university, when he was appointed as Vice-Chancellor in the '60s, too? As for saying that Chukwuemeka Ojukwu made more valid contribution to the development of Nigeria, haba Oga, take it easy with those fairytales. The last time I checked, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu tried to dismember this country, not develop it. He failed to learn from his father, about how people build prosperous legacies. 4 Likes 1 Share |
