JOSHCANADA: This sound like a big risk. Since you can't work legally until school resumes, they will be eager to know what exactly you will be doing for the 7 months.. ... This adventure will be screaming "ulterior motive " to them. I stand to be corrected though 2 Likes |

JOSHCANADA:You have gotten the ticket already so just keep praying the immigration officer that will attend to you is a God sent, some of them don't even ask much questions while others will want to know why you are coming this early. But just like you said, tell them you just want to acclimatize. God will go with you brought and safe journey 1 Like |

WEIRDPC:It depends on the immigration officer that will attend to him at the POE, though they will like to know what he will be doing for the next 7 months (and he is not suppose to work during this period). Hope you have extra cash for the next 7 months? NB: He has gotten his ticket already before coming to ask so he just have to travel and pray for God's favor. Some people get lucky and the immigration officer will not be too concerned about him coming early |

WEIRDPC: Twallace: I will go with Twallace & WEIRDPC advice here, are you running from Nigeria. Travelling to Canada 7 months prior the start of classes is much, unless you have a family member you want to stay with while you wait for classes to begin. You need to provide a reasonable answer to the immigration officers at the point of entry. Even as that while waiting, you will have to spend more for your feeding, house bills etc... which is not a joke in Canada. Man! I advise you wait for a while please. 1 Like |

Gurus advise I got admission offer to Algonquin College for P. G in energy management September admission 2018. My problem is I don't have money, just like 300k is what I have my bank account. Academic Status Full Time - Academic Program Duration 1 Year(s) Level of Study Post Graduate Credential Ontario College Graduate Certificate Start Date September 04, 2018 Completion Date June 30, 2019 Campus Woodroffe Type of School Public Work Requirement Yes Tuition Fees $ 8,100.00 CAD Fees Due Date March 01, 2018 Condition(s) (if applicable) Please note that the tuition fee covers the first semester of study. This acceptance will be cancelled if tuition payment is not received by the College by the due date listed on this letter. Please refer to our website at Cancellation of this offer after tuition is paid will result in a withdrawal penalty of a minimum of $1,000.00 CAD, Since I don't want my admission revoke or cancel should I pay $1000 CAD equivalent to around #300k, and my due date to pay is march 1, 2018. See the breakdown of my fees and living expenses Tuition Fees and Estimated Expenses The following is an approximate breakdown of fees and expenses for the first year of study. sogima:The schools in Canada only give you offer letter(admission letter) and that's what you will submit(with other documents requested by cic). No interview done (except in some special cases), just take your documents to vfs office(Lagos or Abuja) to apply or do it online then you will be asked to go for your biometric at any of the two vfs offices in Nigeria. |

olugere:From what you said, you only have #300k and you are suppose to have around #8-9mil. That will never fly bro. Or do you have any funding? please explain better but if it is what I think then please don't waste the #300k to secure your admission if you won't be able to raise the other part before you apply for the trv |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Nobody: 7:31pm On Feb 17, 2018 |
Thank you bro I don't have any funding anywhere unless God do a miracle. Yes the total amount is about #8-9million. I was thinking I can just find it, but no funds, and due date for first semester tuition is March 1, 2018 mcobex: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 7:50pm On Feb 17, 2018 |
olugere:Bro, I will sincerely advise you forget the admission and apply for a PhD or any other program with full funding. If you can get a program with full funding then you are good to go, cos #300k no go anywhere o (e no even cover flight let alone tuition and living expenses ). |

Though, I get supervisor for a PHD in mechanical engineering in Canadian university, but without funding, he said if I can get funding that they will supervise me they are two professor working in the same laboratory, they said if I can get robust funding from my home country, my question is that can I divert ptdf and Bea scholarships if God favored me it, I applied for it. I was just thinking I can just use the college admissions as backup incase PHD does not succeed mcobex: |
