I received my trv today. I want to travel end of this month but I'm worried that I might have issue at airport in canada because my university resumes in september. Can I enter Canada 7 months before my uni resumes I'm just going early to acclimatize with the weather and culture etc .
pls advise me.. I dont want to go there and get turned back at the airport. I'll cry because of the transport money lost and disappointment.

I need a guided advice pleaseeeeeeeeeeee.

This sound like a big risk. Since you can't work legally until school resumes, they will be eager to know what exactly you will be doing for the 7 months.. ... This adventure will be screaming "ulterior motive " to them.

You have gotten the ticket already so just keep praying the immigration officer that will attend to you is a God sent, some of them don't even ask much questions while others will want to know why you are coming this early. But just like you said, tell them you just want to acclimatize. God will go with you brought and safe journey

It depends on the immigration officer that will attend to him at the POE, though they will like to know what he will be doing for the next 7 months (and he is not suppose to work during this period). Hope you have extra cash for the next 7 months?
NB: He has gotten his ticket already before coming to ask so he just have to travel and pray for God's favor. Some people get lucky and the immigration officer will not be too concerned about him coming early

I will go with Twallace & WEIRDPC advice here, are you running from Nigeria. Travelling to Canada 7 months prior the start of classes is much, unless you have a family member you want to stay with while you wait for classes to begin. You need to provide a reasonable answer to the immigration officers at the point of entry. Even as that while waiting, you will have to spend more for your feeding, house bills etc... which is not a joke in Canada.

Man! I advise you wait for a while please.

Please just to be sure. Does Canada universities have similar things like i20 in the USA to present at the embassy.

The schools in Canada only give you offer letter(admission letter) and that's what you will submit(with other documents requested by cic). No interview done (except in some special cases), just take your documents to vfs office(Lagos or Abuja) to apply or do it online then you will be asked to go for your biometric at any of the two vfs offices in Nigeria.

From what you said, you only have #300k and you are suppose to have around #8-9mil. That will never fly bro. Or do you have any funding? please explain better but if it is what I think then please don't waste the #300k to secure your admission if you won't be able to raise the other part before you apply for the trv

Though, I get supervisor for a PHD in mechanical engineering in Canadian university, but without funding, he said if I can get funding that they will supervise me they are two professor working in the same laboratory, they said if I can get robust funding from my home country, my question is that can I divert ptdf and Bea scholarships if God favored me it, I applied for it.

I was just thinking I can just use the college admissions as backup incase PHD does not succeed

I don't know much about PTDF scholarship but one of the beneficiary said one can use it in Canada but you will be the one to process your trv. I pray you get the scholarship. Good luck bro

Can one be denied of visa cos of illicit drug usage when no medical examination is carried out. 6 months study.

Sorry for the outcome of your previous application, it's nice to see that you're back again to reapply and I believe this time around, it will end in praises.

1-) Paper route cost = 56K but go with 60K, should incase there is any error to correct or documents to photocopy at the VFS office.
Online Route = 68K-70K (It's more expensive)

2-) 1 year program is not as bad as you think, just that visa officers always refuse such application. They always think that such applicant is using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada and they tag them as not a genuine student that will return back after their stay in Canada. I never said its impossible okay, but the duration of your course matters alot on your application. When reapplying put up a rational explanation to why you opted out for this course of study in Canada, list the employment benefits here in Nigeria, Your future goals in Nigeria, let them know the chances of securing a job with such certificate is very high in Nigeria.... But if possible get a 2 year program. if not be ready to draft a convincing SOP and everything will be okay
